Spent some time today talking with my local ag prof about our experiment with a DIY cationic enhancing supplement here at bud set. It was our intent to produce an effect such as what we have been seeing from others who do a cationic drench at or around this time of the grow using home made components and common sense, and I think we may have accomplished it.
All during the stretch we started to build up a large storehouse of phosphorus and silicates in our soil by using double doses of our homemade cal-mag-phos, made from fermented burned eggshells and organic vinegar at each watering, along with aloe vera water. We have also been regularly foliar feeding with a mixture of dandelion growth extract, lactobacillus serum and Liquid Karma, to increase the brix level of our plants. Now that we are in full bud, we have backed down from the high dosage of cal-mag-phos and the foliar feeding, and now will just be giving normal weekly doses of the supplements for a while. It was our theory that the phosphorus with its extra electron, would capture nutrients, allowing for a greater nutrient holding ability in the soil, but we have to be careful, because it can also be overdone. This phosphorus is also exactly what is needed for early resin production, and as a result, on day 19 I am already seeing significant frosting on our CD's young buds. No such thing is happening on the CC's, but I suspect they will get with the act soon too.
I like what I am seeing here...
