Emmie's Breeder's Run: Chemdog IBL BP#6 x Blowfish F2 By Santero

!!!!!!!!!! Major Update! !!!!!!!

Our shy one has finally succumbed to to my scrutiny and has been identified! My word, she has been reluctant to show. We are in business. I have one female of both CD and CC and for sure one male CD.

My friends, may I introduce our new girl in the tents, Chemdog IBL bp#6 x Blowfish, the rarest of the rare.

i am sorry they are not showing as fast as in other lines. it may actually come from the
BF-side of things. i had many reports that the male #2-lines are turning out rather butch.
hopefully the chem-genetics do not sport intersexed expressions on top of that *tremble*

no worries, tho ... i'll definetly have you covered and will make you whole in case you are
not happy with the few that decided to play nice. no problem at all and my sincere pleasure.
:)

Thanks for that confirmation, it sure did look like I was seeing that strong F2 male influence here. We will watch very carefully for any more wiggles as we move through bloom.

And thank you so very much for putting me under your wing... I am truly humbled to be considered worthy of such an honor and for now, I just hope to give this line its very best chance to express itself and document it well enough so you can see how she did and which pheno I am working with. Let me know if there is anything special you wish to see as we move through this grow, and I and my trusty camera will try to capture it for you.

Just for your reference, growing conditions here are as follows: I am growing naturally and organically using SubCool's supersoil mix, cooked and added back to with plant debris for a year and a half, with a base soil of Roots Organic original. I use only RO water and for nutrients I use my own distillations of dandelion, home made fish hydrolysate , aloe vera juice and calcium phosphate, all created and stabilized here in my garden with healthy amounts of molasses. I try to give an AACT using slightly modified recipes from The Doc's book, True Living Organics, at least once every couple of weeks, and I stop all nutrients in the last 2 weeks of bloom. This time I am going to try stealing some of the cationic drench ideas, and at bud set I plan on using a special AACT brew, heavy on rock phosphate and silicates from the aloe vera, along with fish juice, as well as a foliar feeding of my dandelion flowering extract and lactobacillus serum, but these are the only unique ideas I have going at the moment for this run.

I have 3 powerful fans in my 3 tent system, creating a 3-5x air exchange in the big tent every minute, along with a strong oscillating fan to really move the air in the big tent. In veg I use T5 Agromax Pur Par purple growth bulbs, 8 of them when needed, and I believe these lights grow significantly stronger than even a 600w MH in the same area.

In flower I use 2x 600w lights in a Raptor AC hood, usually running one Blue Hortilux Growth enhancing MH and one similar high end HPS. To save energy I only run both lights during a portion of their "day", typically the middle 4 hours of the "day" to simulate noon in the tent.

Another question that has occurred Santi... any projections on flowering times with this hybrid?

A quick update...

Now that our girl has been identified she has really let loose, and this little hussy has thrown out pistils all over the place. My god... she is ready to go folks... but hold your horses little missy, we are not yet done vegging. She was topped again last night, rather severely... attempting to slow her down and bush her out.

This morning found her chugging right along and starting to show the first signs of droop at the bottom that shows me that today is watering day. Over the last several hours I have been watering all the girls with a yummy mix of 5-1-1 fish juice and dandelion flowering extract and by mid afternoon they should be thoroughly soaked through and through.

She is indeed a strong plant and already standing at near 20". She does have the big 9 fingered leaves, but not quite as big as the males. Blowfish must be a very impressive plant with very large leaves, from what I am seeing here in my tents.

We will get her trimmed up soon and take some clones, but we are trying to slow things down a bit while we wait on the bloom tent to get done in a week or so. As soon as we have the room, all of these girls will be getting 7 gallon containers, but for now, we have had to raise and angle the veg light a bit... no worries, we got this under control.

I am going to give them 4 or 5 more days of 18/6 lighting to get them off of the flowering pattern I put them in so that I could ID them, and then to slow things down a bit, I will move the GLR 12-1 pattern until I can get them in the big tent and with big shoes.

Here is everyone in the tent together, with our big girl over on the right.

looking good over there. I am follwing this and your other one Emmie's Breeder's Run #2 - Chocolate Cheese x Blowfish F2 By Santero

Are you growing exclusively with T5 lighting ?

Here is Chemdog male, getting ready to do his thing. I am ready for him... already a few are starting to pop... love is in the air! At least in that tent it is... let's keep it that way. All air connections have been cut to this little tent for now, hazmat suits are ready for our next few trips in there. This is dangerous business, but it can be done... especially if the timing is right. Isn't it wonderful that mother nature saw fit to let the boys get done early?

Here he is, in all his glory...

And here he is, safely protected from behind the window, giving me that sad look because he knows I have him under control.

Our male is still playing it cool... but his time is numbered, and he knows it. It is just a matter of days for him now.

Our female is doing great, building strongly and being topped aggressively to widen her out. We will be taking a bunch of clones from her soon, so no trimming has been done around the bottom yet. A couple of big fan's have gotten a little damage, but so far nothing looks progressive and I believe she is handling the extended time in the smart pot very well. Watering cycle is somewhere between 3 and 4 days right now, decreasing each time.

As soon as the bloom tent has finished with the acapulco gold in there now, she will be transplanted to a 7 gallon smart pot and vegged for at least a couple of more weeks if not longer. This is going to be our Halloween run, and it needs to be a good one.

It just occurred to me today that since Mr. Chemdog IBL #6 x BF is the rarest of the rare, that I had better clone him too. Two cuttings just hit the bubble cloner... we got his number.

This was after my panic attack today when instead of harvesting a lot of pollen from him, I found moisture in the love tent. Condensation because of the high humidity and the heat in there with no exhaust. I have to find a better way to do this in the dog days of summer... at any rate... we now will have clones, this is not over. I will still get some pollen out of these guys though... got a little today, but we will get more. :)

I uploaded 2 pictures of what I think is the leaf anomaly on the female plants, but I couldn't find one on this CD female. I will keep watching for it, but in the meantime, let me tell you what I have been up to.

All 4 of the girls in veg have been being trimmed aggressively, and their vertical growth has mostly stopped for now as they try to sort out dominance. All of the girls are starting to complain about the 2 gallon containers, with the lowest fan leaves starting to show damage. The bloom tent is just about done, and we will get them transplanted and moved in there asap. For now, we are just going to do what we can do to keep them healthy and happy while we wait.

All of the plants got a foliar spray of lactobacillus serum, three days ago. This beneficial bacteria now living on the leaves will help increase transpiration and the ability to uptake nutrients. These healthy leaves with their own ecosystems will now be very disease, mold, mildew and bug resistant.

Today, all of the plants were watered with a 3 day AACT (actively aerated compost tea) made up primarily with dandelion growth extract, fish hydrolysate and a couple of cups of fresh homemade earthworm castings. This should really perk things up.

The watering is on about a 4 day cycle at the moment... I expect it to shrink to 3 days with the application of this microbe filled watering and the extra activity that will be happening in the rootzone.
