Eggs Tries Again With Some New Gear

Eggs....your learning....great attitude . In veg., it's so important to look after the roots. One way to do that is make them look/work for water. In bloom we like to spoil them a lil....:passitleft:
Looking nice and healthy Eggs. The Bubba is looking like she's supposed to now. Making those mistakes are kinda valuable in the long run. You probably learned more from that mistake than from anything someone told you. Hell, your plants always looks so good I'm glad to see you are human. I look forward to trying it!

I need to find/research watering in bloom.....I don't feel like I give enough maybe.....or too much...can you give us a rundown of the do's and don'ts if ya get a chance?

I guess the old saying "teach a man to fish" has a lot of truth, just glad you guys are patient enough for .

You are so right about making mistakes, seems you never forget your mistakes. In that case any day now I should be a very wise man...…..ha ha. Its been a while, the next time you come up let me know, maybe after you and Duggs get back from Jamaica I would love to hear the stories and share some meds.

Hey seeds what size pots do you have in flower? I am running 7 gal. I gave the GG4 and the BH 1.5 gal the other day and the glue sucked it up nicely in 4 days but it took the BH 6 days , so I did back off to 1 gal at a time.

I try to let mine dry fairly thoroughly between waters in flower but try not to let them start to go limp. A touch of wilting on the lowers isn't too big of deal but if the whole plants go limp they will stall for a bit plus the soil biota can go dormant. If that happens I hit it with a transdrench regardless of what they are up for just to make sure the biota becomes active again.

In my experience most of my strains really like the soil fairly dry. It's those last day or two before watering that they really like the best. It could be the sativas that like that though as I'm still learning indicas. You have to watch how they are growing between drenches to get a good feel for how much water they want. 1 gallon in 7s is what did uses and is right in line with what I give as well.

6 days seems like a long time, but it's not off from what you'll see in many plants. If they are drinking every 2-3 days in flower you're actually getting close to root bound which makes it tougher to keep them happy in later flower.

That makes sense Morglie thanks for that. Right after I gave the 1.5 gallons in my 7s I read Doc's advice to someone who was giving 2 gallons in 7s and he said 2 gallons would drown the plant and I am pretty sure that was for 7s, all I could think was here we go again I am going to drown another so I backed off to 1 gallon and now on the morning of the 4 day they are more then ready. I guess the size and the strain could change that a bit.:yummy:

I grow in 10's and my soil has the coco in it so that changes things some. As a general rule I give 1 gallon in a 10. It a little on the light side but I get more feedings in. At flip it takes about 10-14 days before they want water again then it's about every 3-4 days. If I have one that is drinking that amount in 2 days I will up that one to 1.5 gallons. The Bubba Hash likes it a little dryer. I tend to let that one go until the pot is very light, almost to the point of drooping otherwise I just lift the pot every morning and if it lifts easily, I water.

I am going to back down to 1 gallon for my 7s then, I also made the switch to 25% coco when I cooked my last batch of soil. My wife bought me a moisture meter and I got to say it seems to work pretty good for me. I am trying real hard not to screw up this BH, you would laugh if you tasted my last BH it is flat in the flavor and smells department. I kinda forgot that the coco is going to make things dry a little faster.

Sounds like healthy plants BobbyZ, I have to go back and start at the beginning of your journal I jumped in the middle some where. I see some good rosin info I need to check out, how did you like your GG4 squish. :roorrip:

Just telling you what works for me. I think people over exaggerate the watering process. I use the finger method and check the soil. I run seedling straight to the main pot.
I got my GG4 cut from GT. It is probably the best tasting weed I’ve ever had. A strong lemon peel flavor and smooth. I know why he keeps a mother plant. Euphoria and laughter follows, relaxing but not sleepy. Unfortunately my body gets use to a strain quick and I have to keep changing strains.

I've got one of those and like it. I normally poke it in 3-4 spots to make sure it's ready. Sometimes pockets will dry out quicker than the rest of the pot.

I just harvested a Grampa Glue today. It is a frosty girl. I always eat fresh buds while harvesting, I wash them then eat them. This one has a very pleasant taste. It kinda tastes like it smells.

Interesting I might have to try that. For edibles we now favor hard candy infused with pressed rosin, the taste is the best almost as good as a dab but the trick has been matching a strain with a complimentary flavor. Coffee is currently my favorite infused with GG4 but I was thinking next batch leave out the artificial flavors and use the rosin for flavor maybe make the color green. The virgin glue would be awesome.

I've been learning how to make gummies using themethod posted by @DrDoob and below is what he said about decarbing. I made a batch with no weed and they came out great. I'd like to use rosin to make the real deal but I don't have a press.

"* I used the Ardent Nova to decarb and infuse the corn syrup, but there are many other ways to do the same process like the Instantpot, MagicButter Machine, or stovetop. Basically you just want to put your decarbed herbs/rosin in with the corn syrup at just bellow simmering temperature for about 4 hours."

Interesting. How are you decarbing the rosin?

After collecting the rosin off the parchment paper I put it in a small silicon container then into the freezer for easy handing when frozen, from there into a 50ml glass beaker for decarbing on the bottom plate of my 3 x 5s ( no gage ) set temp at 252* for 27 min or until bubbling stops. It will foam up a bit when bubbling that's why I put it in the beaker but it would be nice to find a bigger silicon container that was food grade and I felt comfortable using because there is always some loss when handling rosin. Anyway I then put it back into the silicon and back in the freezer ready to drop into corn syrup.
I don't put the rosin into the corn syrup until the very end right when adding the flavor and color, stirring well while watching the color blend to a even consistency. More then one any to do it I am sure but I can say for sure the potency and the flavor of the rosin is out of this world, so much fun with the different strains.
We have tried a lot of different flavors we started with the sweet stuff, spearmint, watermelon and grape but we have been leaning to more the earthy flavors like whore hound, sassafras, and coffee although the grape was pretty good. It is a lot of fun pairing the flavors with the different strains.

I had my first experience squishing over at @Derbybud place last night. I haven't tried any yet so I am excited to try my first dab hit. I just got my bong with a Titanium bowl on it back from my buddy today so I will try a hit in the morning. Once I have enough of my own bud I am going to go back over to Derbys place and do some squishing. I cant wait

I am sure you will love it, the taste is simply awesome and the buzz is intense. Like anything else you need to accumulate a few accessories but you will be glad you did. I had to back off after the holidays, I kept forgetting shit and just being stupid. Its a lot of fun turning your friends on to it for their first time, I have had people take to too big of a hit for their own good and some cant get enough saying I haven't felt like that since high school (their first time).
