Dyold's Grow 1

I just remembered something that I have been meaning to ask here also.

Using the Light meter on my SG3 smartphone I have, according to its meter, a minimum of 4k-6k lumens per meter at the outside edges with 26k-31k lumens per meter under the light canopy. this is at the plant tops and mid range depths into plant canopy. Good ? Lights to close ? Could be closer even ? The hoods are running insane cool with the fans i have so I am sure i could get at close as 16" but my coverage area would be smaller if my brain is working right, kinda :smokin: at the moment.

As always thank you for the time to respond and all shared knowledge, I know it is hard won. :Namaste:

Good evening weed Dyold. Your grow is looking really good. I have never seen a plant triple in height let alone double. Some get close to double but not any more than that. this is what I have seen in my grows. the tips could be nute burn so just keep an eye on it.

Here's a good chart on distance for lights.

Aye Beemerbill, I do have the same light chart book marked as well. I noticed that the chart is in Foot-Candles..will have to find out what that equals in Lumens , believe i have that somewhere as well. :reading420magazine:

EDIT: LOL it is 1 for 1 or 1 foot-candle per 1 Lumen.

So i am getting pretty good light to my garden then. :yahoo:

Christ, if your worrying about your light coverage we all need to worry lol. My two cents worth is your girls are not going to treble or anything that daft. It in my opinion depends on strain, also heavily on your style of growing and your plant manipulation. You have topped and spread your girls out to create bushes kind of like what I do. This gives the plant many sites to build new growth, far more than a standard xmas tree design. So your stretch is simply dispersed out amongst the more numerous heads. So I would think you would get 10-15 inch stretch. Still plenty of space for huge colas. If you want more room simply get your LST set and then let em build upwards for a few days before flip! Hope this helps!

No KJC I am not worried about light coverage. My main questions was the one in this post. I was just making a statement with a question attached about the light lumen to the top of the plant canopy and measuring it with my Smartphone. My light is good.

You answered my question and my thinking about the numerous bud sites is I didn't start to think about stretch until I noticed my room filling up, I don't want to be unable to get into the room and properly care for the girls. There seems to be a lot of differing information on how much a plant really stretches after it is turned to flower.

Thanks for letting me know this is your actual stretch, it is right in line with other growers results that I know personally. :Namaste:

Have a good one :peace:

Thank you so much for posting that!! I have a light meter on my smartphone too, and that is going to be very useful. Never knew it was there!:thanks:

Very cool I believe this has helped me use the available light space in my garden for sure. :reading420magazine:

When I started using a light meter it sure taught me a lot about different light designs and canopy coverage and light dissapation throughout the different levels of the canopy. With my meter I try to keep the lower canopy at 5 out of 10 at least to ensure the low canopy can grow without stretching or turning lower branches in to suckers. I love them meters , does yours show Lumen or is it simply a intensity meter?

The Light Sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S3 shows the readings in Lux ( 1 Lux=1 Lumen= 1 Candle-Foot /per meter squared) format with a R, G, B, W format also with corresponding levels actively. On the phones all these things that I am talking about are accessed thru the Key Pad of the Phone app.

DIAL *#0*# , ( as soon as you hit the last # sign a menu will open up automatic, it will not place a call, if your phone places a call, then you did it wrong or your phone does not support this feature) and that will open up a screen with a bunch on grey boxes labeled different things. Pick the Sensor box located in the middle.

That opens up a screen with a Accelerometer Sensor, Porximity Sensor, Barometer Sensor, Light sensor, Gyroscope sensor and Magnetic sensor.

All of these show active readings or you can pick the sensor buttons to view a specific sensor reading.

Hello Everyone :cheesygrinsmiley:

I had a little break yesterday and just lazed around the house mostly in bed or just reading online for relaxing. Girls did some filling out in my absence, bless their little leaves :green_heart: I watered today with just plain water for the Permafrost girls and some Nutrient enriched water for the ATF girls.

Some more LST applied and a couple pics of some other girls that have recovered.
