Nice grow once again, wondering if I could ask a Q regarding the pump that operates the top-feed and the drain. I'm finding my roots have just grown all over and around the pump, do you leave yours or do you try to free it up? I don't want to start tearing/breaking roots if it's not going to be a critical issue.

there's great reviews of this product on another growers forum. They were saying that the HCO products gunk up when used in aerated res water, but I don't think it'd do that when used as a pH down (drops), but the HCO products in general got great reviews from those users.

I never cut my roots, The pump in my grow wasn't/isn't having any problems sucking up water through the roots to drain the reservoir. I don't personally agree with what 303Stoner said, I wouldn't cut my roots, its not gonna kill the plant, but its not gonna help it by any means either. IMO. If the pump is still working to drain the reservoir then don't sweat it.
Also, once the the root system has reached the reservoir and has a nice root mass that is submerged I turn off the top feed lines. I found in the hot summer months it was contributing to root rot a little. Once the root ball is in the water it doesn't need the top feed anymore.

Hi everyone, today is day 21 of veg since I transplanted into the main chambers, and I flipped the lights today.
Tomorrow will be day 1 of flower, no 24 hour dark period before flower this time, it's just not needed.
I finally figured out the Problem with the Kush closet, and all should hopefully run smooth now in flower. The plants were being underfed, and the kush's were calcium deficient. I know this because I set the PPM at 330 last time I visited, and today the PPM was down to 245 and the water levels were very low. The plants have been eating and drinking a ton of nutes and water. I upped the dose of cal-mag during the reservoir change today, and started the 1st week of bloom nutes.
After the reservoir change, I spread out all the branches as evenly as possible, the Kush screen is 100% full, and almost every square of the net has a top growing in it.
The White Widow is growing so well also, it's phenomenal. BB's little sister hasn't hit the screen yet, you can't even see it in the pics behind BB but I'm gonna leave it for now. The White widow screen is about 90% full and will fill in for sure during the stretch.
Today's stats
Kush Closet
PPM= 520
PH= 5.6
Air Temp= 77F
Water Temp= 72F
RH= 50%

Solid. With the screen do you weave the plants thru it as they grow, or is it just for support? Also, do you plan on riding the same PH range the whole flower cycle?

Thanks Stoner. I'm pretty happy with the Widow, the Kush's could have been a little smoother but they have recovered well from the deficiency. I hope that I can beat my previous yeild.

Hi gnarled, as the plants grow I pull them down under the screen and move them over a square or two to space out the plant and LST it. I do put on a second lvl screen once the cola's start to form for support.
Last grow I kept the PH at 5.8 the whole time pretty much, this time I flower, I'm gonna allow it to fluctuate a little more. I'll keep it between 5.5 and 6.2 PH.

HI Stealth, I don't remember you mentioning so far in the journal...so pardon if I missed it. Are you planning any defoliation on the plants under the scrog screen at all, or do you just leave them grow?
And I have to say the difference in the bushiness of your white widow under LED's and mine under CFL's is like night and day! I just have to get one of those LED lights.

I'm very proud of my Big Bushy White Widow, I knew I could fill the screen with 1 plant in the closet. Depending on how this grow finishes, I might have a POTM nomination.
