DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog - Round 2

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

much better. i'm glad you're finally listening to me about the ppms. increase the ppms when you notice yellowing at the bottom of the plants.

I can't wait for bloom! without stress these plants should finish as fast and fat!

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

Looking good in there Stealthgrow.
I'm growing the same strains as you, as you know.
Wondering what a cross of MK and WW would be like? I'm planning some breeding and have a LOT of reading to do yet.....LOL

So far I'm liking the smoke from the White Widow more than the Master Kush, they are both nice but the high is better with the WW. The Kush is a little to couch lock and fall asleep for me. I smoked a big cracker of WW, put on some tunes, and cleaned the house in record time. ;)

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

Good news everyone, I got the new replacement LED light from Supercloset in the mail today.:)
I'm not gonna install it until tomorrow but just thought I'd let you all know it came.
Now I gotta pack up the old one, and ship it back to them in the return packaging that came with the replacement. No down time at all in the grow, that's the main thing.;)

That was fayast! :cheertwo:
Hmmm...a cross between couch-lock and a good house cleaning mode....perfect for me!! LOL

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

Hi everyone, quick update.;)

Today is day 17 since I transplanted the clones into the main closets, and they are doing well, but the Kush is still showing new nute burn damage, even though the PPM's are really low and the plants are eating a ton. The water lvls went down and so did the PPM's by 45 points, so the plants are actually being underfed a little. I gotta figure this out soon, cause I wanna flip this weekend. The Kush's are still growing well, but the burn has got me puzzled??

Anyway, the main reason for my visit to the grow tonight was to swap out the new LED light that came in the mail to replace the broken one. Everything went without a hitch, although the new LED seems to have a little more white light than the other I have. We'll see how she works.

I spread out all the plants in the screen as much as possible tonight, they really are growing fast. BB the White Widow is so freaking bushy, just like her mother was, except this time she has a whole closet to herself, instead of sharing with the Master Kush.

No stats tonight, I just PH'd the water back to 5.8 and changed the light, that's it.

The White Widow, you can see the first 2 pics the broken LED Light and one of the side T5 lights burnt out also.

Here's the closet with the new light installed, and the side T5 light replaced. I just swapped out one of the cloning chambers T5 lights for now until I can go the the Hydro shop and pick up a new T5 bulb.

That's it for tonight, next update Sunday when I change out the reservoir and flip the lights. Questions and comments always welcome, have a good end of week and weekend.
Stay medicated my friends.;)

Is it possible that PH fluctuations caused a lockout? Are you able to identify which deficiency you are experiencing, and what is the polar opposite that would cause a lockout?

Hi Skybound. Yeah its the PH fluctuations that caused the problem, I'm gonna be a little more vigilant about keeping PH lvl around 5.8. I have to visit a little more often during veg then when in flower, and I'm still in flower mode. ;)
I think its a calcium lockout, as mentioned by another member, when I looked it up, the damage to the leaves is the same spotted burns. I'm not over feeding, I just got to be sure to keep the PH lvls in the sweet spot.

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

Upon discussing this at great lengths with The Capn and AG (and others), I am coming to learn (believe) that the fluctuations can be a good thing when in a controlled manner.

Nutrient_Availability_chart.JPG

Notice how broad the PH range is for nutrient availability. My res and AG's (and I assume yours too) climbs to the natural PH of all the elements of the solution combined, which for me is about 6.3-6.7. When I add the Heisenberg Tea (4.6-4.8) it pulls the PH way down into the low 5.0 range. I imagine the ph stays for a while then begins to slowly climb again. This slow walk from say 5.3 to 6.7 allows the roots of my plant to grab whatever it can see. If I were to keep my res right at 5.8, Ca and Mn would only be briefly available, then K, Fe and B would soon follow suit and become unavailable to the roots as the ph swing has taken this availability off the table. But my theory is that by getting the PH down low (w/o using PH down) and having it slowly climb it's way through the entire chart of maros, micros and trace elements allows the plant more time to be with all of the nutes giving the plant a better opportunity to pick out what it wants.

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

Thanks for the tip Sky, maybe I'll set PH to 5.6 from now on and let it climb up. Its worth a try for sure.;)
Last time I left the girls for 4 days and the PH climbed to 6.7, way to high for calcium intake.

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

It was suggested to me to try and refrain from adjusting PH with PH up or down. Key word was "try" b/c as of now, I only have a nutrient additive that I can use in place of PH up. Still trying to find one that is acidic enough to replace the PH down.

Please share if you find a replacement for PH down. I don't like using that either.:cheesygrinsmiley:

Re: DWC Master Kush and White Widow LST & Scrog--Round 2

A brief look up of lemon juice indicates that it is also a good source of K. That's good to know! I will work on getting a bottle, Thanks LA!
