nothing whizz. was using carbo load but was fucking up my res and u dont need it so much in hydro. Plants need carbs ofcourse but the leaves provide them too thats why my defoliation hasnt been so heavy this round. still defoliated but left enough to help with plants needs. right now im using base nute and boost. starting to shy away from additives, in hydro. the cost is very high when running multiple hydro grows. i am not cutting corners but im findinding out more and more (even though i already had this drilled into me a long time ago) a good base nutrient goes a long way. u look at advanced nutes, its a company that has milked feeds and additives to the absolute max at crazy prices. i recently spoke to a AN rep and he was saying he wouldnt use half their products as theres no need. (great rep lol). but he's right. they do have some good products by the way but if u bought there whole range to run a 24 pot hydro grow with a 250litre res it would cost atleast $1500 in feed min!!!!

So back to the question what carb do i use. in soil i used molases, in coco i used and still use carboload (bud candy is a rip off, way more expensive and its only couple diff sugars added which are not worth $$$), in hydro it depends on system but its either none or carboload. hope this helps mate.

i wont be around tomorro so have great new year. i going out on my mountain bike Specialized stumpjumper carbon fsr s-works 29er all day, then going for a meal and drinks on night ( i no longer smoke weed as sad as it may be as i live a clean lifestyle now and theres no such thing as just a joint or a bong for me, addictive personalities suck in many ways. Strangely i can have a beer or 2 and be fine...) to celebrate my birthday.

All the best people.

Thats why I never bought BudCandy. I only use certain AN additives. I have no idea why they would have 2 different carbohydrates? Maybe theres just the cheaper end to them. Who knows??? I think in soil I will stick with blackstrap molasses since its been doing me fine. Liquid Karma is a good carbohydrate also. I would use that but still havent gotten around to do so. I do a little reasearch on all products before I buy them, I like to see whats the real purpose and see what the reviews are and if the yreally are worth the asking price. Theres a nice write up on all nute line ups here on 420. Some guy had every nute line up along with there additives and ran a side by side grow and made a review on all products, AN, FF, GH, BOTANICARE, some other nutes but those are the main ones. If I find it again I will link it here and you guys can check it out. Me personally I just mix and match the products i like.

Happy Birthday to you C. Hope you enjoy New Years as well! What a way to bring in the New Year with a birthday on top of that. Enjoy, remember Member of the month when you come back! :thumb:

the dif between carboload and bud candy is bud candy has 3 diff types sugars in (off the top of my head its 3, maybe wrong) and carboload is just 1. usually carboload is used to feed beneficial bacteria products but i found it was fine to give a carb boost to plants and although bud candy has few extra sugars in, i didnt see any diff using thrm. half price, same job. only thing is carboload is a little thicker than the bud candy so can make hydro res a little slimey, so i dont bother using it at all in hydro.

You ever try thinning it out by simmering it with a little bit of water? I do that with my molasses the sugar in it becomes more active and easier for roots to take it in.

And no problem on the link Its alot to read but around the 4th post it has all the feedback about the nutes so you really dont have to read the whole thing unless you want to :)

no i havent done that, it wouldnt make a differnce in dwc i dont think or any other recirc system. U water down the molases so its easier to water through the soil. the carboload is watered down in the res, it just makes res so slimey and im finding i dont need to add it in hydro set ups. i still use it in coco.

im going to cut 2 of the smaller plants today to make more room for the larger ones. Its out of control. I only have a week left anyway. I am really looking to change my nutes for dwc. i just cant quite get the perfect mix. dont get me wrong, i always do ok. But there is always an issue arises, be it ph unstability, deficiencies or lock outs. im mixing and matching constantly and im not 100% happy with anything right now. Got my coco mix down to a science but dwc still needs tweaked. im going to trial bpn full range on a run possibly against the AN ph perfect 2 part. still undecided on the 2nd nute line. but will def give bpn a bash.
