yeah i was going to turn pro in october gone but after long think about it im too old really. im 31 next week and although thats young in life terms its old to start in fighting. if i turned pro id have to dedicate so much more time to the sport which is fine if i got paid enough. but the average pro mma fighter might make at most $1500-$2000 per fight which isnt alot if u only fight 4 of 5 times a year. then u have to pay for ur camp and training so for me its just not worth the amount of dedication for the return that i would get. i lived my live recklessly when i was young, abusing alcohol and drugs and spending many years in prison. im older, wiser and a different person now and i look back and wondered what could have been if id of done things differently. i didnt have a great start in life which kind of steered me on the wrong path but ive always been smart, its just taken a while to get to a point where i just want the regular things in life. i have a beautiful family and as u guys know i delivered my second daughter myself. so the point is after all i have been through im happy just training and fighting to keep me fit and competitve but not to devote my life to it. i have 2 passions outside of my children and thats mma and growing. combined i have no time for anything else mate.

hi mate

thanks for stopping by. my journals usually are all over the place as im not the best organised person in world and i do lots diff things with grows i feel the urge to put stuff in thats not relevant to the main grow all the time. i need to learn to slow my pace down cos my mind races. as the title states this was supposed to be a completely different grow, then i changed my mind not once, not twice but three times! lol but atleast im getting to show u guys a small part of what i do and i get to help others along the way. not only that but ive been involved in growing over 10 years now yet there are still things that i am learning so it's all good. thanks for the reps too. i never seem to give them out, not because people dont deserve them, i just forget lol.

I'm subscribing man. I'm going to be doing an I door with 1000 watt mh and hps. I want to do it DWC and I wad told by WizHigh that you know your stiff. So I'm going to catch up to where you are and then pay close attention. I'm sure to have lots of questions. What I've seen is very impressive. Lead on bud brother!

Okay, I do have a quick and easy question. I was thinking about it earlier today. I noticed the pic of your setup and it looks lime you have sprayers in the tub. So is this like a cross between DWC and aeroponic?

theres only sprayers in the aero cloner. oxypots are just water/nute and airstone.
 
I'm looking to do something very similar to what you have set up but for privacy's sake, I'm going from seed. Now I know its not ideal for a DWC but its what I have planned. My question is, what do I use or how do I keep the new sprouts good and moist if there not in the water yet. I realize that the bubbles will create some moisture but would that be enough?
One last thing, I really appreciate you helping me out here and I don't want to flood your journal with a big ass Q&A, so would you rather me start a thread in the FAQ section? I could just title it "DWC questions".
 
i would start the seed in rockwool in propagator til u have decent roots then just transplant to the net pot and pebbles. i would dip the net pot in water on first day and thats it. the roots will grow very fast and find the res quickly. u dont need to feed from the top, i find doing that actually slows the speed at which the roots hit the res. same as if u leave bottom of net pot submerged in water it will slow root development. both work but u dont need to do it. keep nutrient atleast 3" from net pot. so long as seedlings rooted in rockwool (i would just use 1" cubes) they will be fine. if uve left them a few days and they look like they are drying out just dip pot again but i never have to do this and id only do it if they really needed it.
 
oh and dont bother with additives or anything til roots hit the res, its just a waste of money, have a half strength base nute and maybe a little h2o2 and nothing more. once roots are in res u can start adding u regime.
 
Awesome journal mate. Just wanted to pop in and say how much I appreciate your time and efforts doing this and teaching us.
I will be starting my first grow in 2 weeks as soon as I source the AMS seeds and have the oxypots and all my stuff delivered. I will be trying to get 6 pots in a 3x2-1/2 feet area, hoping that's not too bunched up.
Great to know what AMS stands for too, since after reading your other journal I was worried knowing that if someone as experienced as you can get rot then what chance did I have. :)

One quick question, would an oxypots be suitable for keeping my mother or would the root ball get too big to quick?. I have looked at airpots for the mother but not sure how to really use them, only thing I could find about them was some silly videos on how to put them together. Not much use at all.
