Whats up everyone and Happy Sunday! The weekend is nearing an end but we are just days away from Christmas so i hope you all are ready! I know im excited for the holidays. Spending time with the family and all those yummy festive treats! What a great time. Now I have a few things to update here so lets get into it!
Dec.22
Steady growth on all the autoflowers. PEa2 will be needing another watering tomorrow.
Critical+2.0#1showing the very first signs of a CalMag def. ONE- small rust spot has appeared and the lowest fans are a slight bit lighter in colouring. Will be monitoring over the next few days. Next watering they will get an increased dose of Calmag if i see problem continue or get worse. I have kept the feeding so far VERY light and minimal so im not surprised I am showing a slight bit of def. but I will be increasing it now as they are getting bigger and the lights are being turned up.
I was going to turn on "bloom" switch today on the LED light but I have decided to give them another day.
Dec.23
Alrighty! After 13hrs spent yesterday trimming up my big Early Miss plant (details in other journal) I kind of put the little ones on hold. So this morning I made my coffee and got into the process of feeding/watering and training the critical girls. Lets talk about the autoflowers first. The growth seems to be almost even between CCa1 and PEa1 which is great since these 2 are the biggest and are our candidates for the "Auto Quads". But all 4 of these precious little ones are doing great!
The slow one PEa2 has begun to pick up a bit of speed now. She also was needing another watering so in 500ml of distilled water I added in 1mL of Voodoo Juice. I watered in a circular motion outward around her base to help encourage lateral root growth outwards in search of water.
With all the autos now on their 3rd and moving onto their 4th nodes the next time they need watering I will be introducing a light feed with some calmag and possibly a light dose of veg nutes depending on how they look at that time. This meaning if I see the lower leaf (cotyledon) starting to yellow or fade off it is time for me to introduce a light veg nute feed as well since they will begin to require more food. Since PromixHP doesnt have any nutrients in it I will be lightly feeding from the start.
Critical+2.0 Got trained today. The top growth tips were long enough that I could comfortably tie them down while leaving them at a slight upward angle. This is to make sure the plant thinks they are still growing vertical. As they grow more I will continue to train the top nodes outwards until the bottom growth tips catch up to make a flat canopy. At this time I will start to train them outwards as well. I will be transplanting to a 3 or 5Gal which I will veg in for the next few weeks before flipping to flower. I am undecided which pot size I will use just yet. The reason for this being is because of my wedding. With it being it April I have to have these critical girls in flower by the second last week of January. So if I transplant into a 5Gal pot will the roots have enough time to fill that out or would I be best to keep them in a 3Gal for the remainder of veg and then flower. Looking at the overall I think 3Gals are my best option so we will see! If anyone has any opinions on this I woud love to hear them!
So both the criticals needed water today and as I mentioned from yesterday I had noticed the slight begining signs of CalMag def. Since I had them out for training I noticed the bottom leaves are a lighter greenish brown and on 1 point I noticed a very slight rust spot.
So for todays feed water I mixed into 1L of distilled water:
1mL of CalMag
2.5mL of Veg Nutes
2mL of Voodoo Juice
PH:5.9
They both got 500mL of the mixed water and over the next few days I will watch for recovery and no further discolouration or spotting.
Thats about it for this update and with the training progressing on the criticals and the autoflowers getting close to that point where they explode with growth it should start to really get fun around here!
Hope you all are having a great weekend and stay medicated !
