Dutchman’s Pheno Hunt!

She sure is a heavy feeder! Drinks around 3 gallons every 4 days. It's the biggest plant I've grown to date. I'm enjoying growing these larger plants and will do another big one soon. This is her today which is Day 17 of flower....

Gorgeous plant!
Thank you Penny. She's getting a trim on the weekend so we'll get to see what her frames like. There's so many budsites on each branch that could do with a bit more light. The only problem with her is the thrips but they're being controlled. Hopefully after a good trim there'll be less places for them to hide

She’s looking fantastic Prof! I’m excited to see her in a few weeks time!

Update
June 13 / Day - 41

Hey everyone! Tonight’s update I’m going to be focusing on the 4x4 tent and tomorrow I’ll be doing an update for the 3x3!

With these girls getting big quickly I’ve decided I’ll be flipping soon. Today was the last day I’ll be training and tying them outwards. They have all grown past the pot edges now and from here on I’ll allow them to go vertical for the next week or so! I’ll be taking clones from the 5x girls who are going into flower first. Now when I was training I placed one of the support straps on WC a bit to tight and when I checked on them later I had noticed it snapped a branch !! I added some good ole spit to the wound and then taped the branch and supported it with a little help! Unfortunately I didn’t notice the break right away so when I did see it I noticed that a portion of the break had begun to dry and seal up. With only a little bit of the branch holding on to what was left I hope and have my fingers crossed that she recovers without skipping a beat or I may end up with a tri-line! Pictures below show the result!

I was a little disappointed but what can you do! I’ll be taking 2 cuttings from each of these 5x plants to make sure I get one rooted before flowering! Speaking of roots I got around to transplanting the clones today from the bubble cloner and wow these roots were growing so fast!

Now the one girl that’s not in the Pheno Hunt is BadAzz Kush the triploid! After I topped her a while back I have been using LST to keep her flat and level with the quadline girls the best I can! I took a picture of the topping and where the 3x new shoots emerged! Pretty interesting I must admit and I’m excited to see how she does in flower!

So as it stands now with these girls progressing I’m looking at flipping around next weekend probably! As long as these girls are filled out by then which I’m sure they will be it will be the beginning of the flowering journey for this Pheno Hunt! I’m really excited to see how this first round of flowering goes!

The girls in the 3x3 will be monsters by the time they get transplanted and flowered out which is the plan!

I’ll be getting the 3x3 update done first thing tomorrow!

Stay Medicated!

HighYa Dutchie,

Well done update! You have a lot going on! Keeps it interesting. I love the plant surgery! I've done things like that by necessity, as well. Feels great when it works. All your ladies look great, and especially your clones. Looks like you're expanding your grow. Keep up the great work. Cheers

Thanks Bode! There’s definitely a lot going on and i look forward to having a few girls switch over to flower soon enough! I’m not sure if she will recover or not but I have fingers crossed she repairs that branch and comes back! It may take her a few days to rebuild because of the severity of the break but we will see!

I've just fed the Phantom OG almost 10.0 grams per gallon. We'll see if that was too far by the weekend. I was a bit unsure of MegaCrop to start with especially when you mentioned the issue involving how to make an accurate mix but now I love it. I can literally feed everything I have with just one bag of nutrients. Hydro, soil, mature flowering plants and seedling all with the same product. Incredibly stuff. The results really speak for themselves though. I'll be sticking with this stuff for some time yet I think

Good to see you back Dutch! The garden looks crazy! Hope you're well buddy
:passitleft:

Just to clarify I had a little bit of tip burning at 7.5 mg per gallon so I cut it back to 7.2 to 7.3 mg per gallon and that seems okay.

Good to know homer. I have 3 good strong plants that are all being fed a high dosage of MegaCrop. All seem to be doing great with no adverse effects just yet. I'll keep you posted if they suddenly catch fire

Always smart to have a fire extinguisher in the grow room when pushing nutes, lol.

I have found that the amount of nutes a plant can take varies by strain quite a bit. Here are my two vegging plants; a Critical on the left and a Dinamed on the right and amazingly they are within two days age but despite their massive difference in size their main trunks are actually the same diameter so I’m curious how they compare in yield.

But the Critical on the left is loving the fact I have been pushing the newts and already giving them 6 g per gallon despite the fact they are only six weeks old but the Dinamed seems to be getting more than it wants because it’s tips are starting to burn and the leaves are going a little bit yellow and curling up so I watered it today with straight water and will lower the nutes a bit with that one. My reason for saying this is that 7.3 may not really be the limit despite that is all my White Widow wanted to take. My Cannatonic wasn’t showing any signs of being overfed at 7.3 g per gallon. So don’t let my 7.3 g per gallon limit think it applies to all strains because I think there is still more room with other strains.

Looking good homer! I’m glad to see MegaCrop is working well for you and I’m eager to push my plants over the next little while and find the threshold!

Here's the Orange Sherbert who's currently on 22g of MegaCrop in 10ltrs of water. She's handling it beautifully....

Update
June 14 / Day - 42

Hey everyone!

So I had to get into the 3x3 today and do a major defoliation! These girls were bushy and thick! Even after removing a bunch it hardly looks like I touched them!

The 4x4 tent bounced back really quick after the defoliation yesterday! Almost like I was never even in there!

As I had the girls out I took a few pictures while I was doing some defoliation and tying.

As I was removing some foliage I noticed something on majority of them..... Pistils!?!
Yes, yes that’s right these girls have begun to show sexual maturity now!

With my space being almost filled already and this being a Pheno Hunt I don’t need massive plants this round! I’m tossing the idea of flipping both tents together in about a weeks time and see how it goes! It will be one crazy flowering experience but if all goes well I’ll be able to find my winning phenos and be able to start my next round sooner!

(I’ve got some more awesome chemovars for next Pheno hunt!)

The Purple Gorilla Autoflowers are coming along nicely and have some nice Trichome coverage already!

I’ll have to make up my mind in the next few days about what I will do but I think everyone may flower together!

I’m putting together a video update and it should be ready for tomorrow!

Stay safe and Stay medicated!
