Exciting times! Excuse my ignorance but what is foxtailing?
It's when the buds get little elongated growths. It can happen naturally or because of heat stress or maybe some other environmental factors. My critical is foxtailing.Looking great Dutch!! Looks like it’s going to be a fantastic harvest! Can you try to help me, and show me what a foxtail is? I’ve tried to figure it out/look it up before and I am just not getting it.
More or less sounds about rightSo I’m not experienced in this and I have only witnessed it on 2 of my buds and they are very small. Some strains have a higher potential to throw out foxtails but sometimes it can be induced by heat or light stress.
Foxtails or Foxtailing is the elongation and stacking of “calyces” which is the plural for “calyx” and each calyx is the potential home site for a seed. However seeds will only be produced if pollinated or the plant hermies.
Buds are formed of multiple “calyx” stacked on top of each other in a tight formation. When the foxtaiking begins an individual section of calyces will begin to protrude this creating a “foxtail”.
Again this is just my knowledge of foxtails so if anyone has anything to add or correct me on PLEASE DO !
I'd say she's done so anytime.
