Dutchman’s 1st Grow Ever: 2018

Nice! will be following...

Hey Suevee! Welcome and I’m glad to have you along for the ride! Grab a seat, a blunt and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Make sure to check out my new journal for a side by side comparison of Training techniques.

Reading the last few pages and seeing the pictures, I just wanna go fire up the chainsaw! :D

Haha thanks TBE! She’s close now that’s for sure and I’m not sure how I’ll end up cutting her main stalk lol it’s massive!

Update

The Blitz continues here at the Dutch house and we’re throwing in some more photos today. We’re on cruise control at the moment waiting for the BIG girl to finish off.

The #2 test bud i took is still drying out but wow does it ever stink!! Every time I open the cupboard up it just punches me in the face. Pungent, potent and delicious! I can’t wait for the full plant harvest it’s going to be a lovely day!

Since my other journal is dedicated to the new Autoflowers and my critical girls I figured I would update you on my EM1.1 clone which has been in reveg for a few weeks now.

She showing some red stems and a few red leaves but I’m not concerned at the moment because she looks healthy otherwise. I will be keeping an eye on her however over the next week to make sure she doesn’t show signs of any deficiencies.

That concludes this update !

For the weekend blitz I will be continuing into the week in my other journal as it will be extremely well detailed and lots of fun with the beginning of training for the criticals and the growth starting to pick up on the Autoflowers!

Another update coming later today so until then light up, stay lifted and keep medicated!

Early Miss - Day 141
Flower - Day 58

Well it’s monday again and I hope your all excited and ready to embrace the week in front of us!
There’s a lot still going on here at the Dutch house and the UPDATE BLITZ continues!

Well the BIG girl is almost ready for choppy choppy!! I’ve started to spot a few ambers so I think I’m going to cut her this Wednesday or Thursday. I have just smoked the test bud that I took a few days ago and man it’s kickass! Without a cure and only a quick dry on the tray the taste was like sweet vanilla cream with a Spicy chai note. The inhale was smooth already without any harsh tastes. This was a great tester and I can’t wait for the final product!

She’s been throwing out the odd foxtail here and there lately so that’s something different for me. Pretty interesting.

Looking great Dutch!! Looks like it’s going to be a fantastic harvest! Can you try to help me, and show me what a foxtail is? I’ve tried to figure it out/look it up before and I am just not getting it.

Exciting times! Excuse my ignorance but what is foxtailing?
WHere a bud grows inside a bud

Edit penny has info few pages back on his current sog journal - he posted a great pic of fox tailing FYI .

So I’m not experienced in this and I have only witnessed it on 2 of my buds and they are very small. Some strains have a higher potential to throw out foxtails but sometimes it can be induced by heat or light stress.

Foxtails or Foxtailing is the elongation and stacking of “calyces” which is the plural for “calyx” and each calyx is the potential home site for a seed. However seeds will only be produced if pollinated or the plant hermies.

Buds are formed of multiple “calyx” stacked on top of each other in a tight formation. When the foxtaiking begins an individual section of calyces will begin to protrude this creating a “foxtail”.

Again this is just my knowledge of foxtails so if anyone has anything to add or correct me on PLEASE DO !

It's when the buds get little elongated growths. It can happen naturally or because of heat stress or maybe some other environmental factors. My critical is foxtailing.
