Dutchman’s 1st Grow Ever: 2018

Hey Cali !

Yea your mother tent is a bit bigger than my new mother/clone/seedling area! Mine is a 24”x24”x48” but it’s perfect for what I need to begin my perpetual journey of seeds and clones !:high-five:

The new tent was meant to be it fits in that spot perfectly ! I already got the famous “eye roll” from the fiancé so I’ll have to be a good boy for the next few weeks lol!

I do need another light or 2 though! I’ll have to keep that on the down low though

Here’s hoping brother ! The heavy lollipop and good spread on her should hopefully produce some good resinous buds that will make donkeys blush !
Yer definitely gonna get some dense bud right the way down. I needa lollypop my strawberry banana tonight actually thanks for reminding me lol.

Yuuuuup!

Headed off to work right now. Hope you have a good one brotha!

Enjoy your day!

Wish i had enough plants to forget what i needed to do to each one of them lmao....

Yeah, just keep her healthy with the understanding that, even when she's healthy, she may throw some deformed leaves. Look for other signs like yellowing, drooping, etc.

I'm really anxious to see how those buds develop, now!

If you're not familiar with polyploidism in cannabis, you should check it out! ;)

Looks to me like it's about to go albino. That's a plant mutation and I've seen it on polyploid plants when they go to flower. Tops that form and parts of the plant that have no chlorophyll but are kept going with translocation of nutrients.

Its a pretty cool mutation. I've seen and I've had it and seen other folks with it too. The leaf pattern is definitely weird tho. Never saw that before but it may be temporary as the albino flowers start forming.

I was looking into that word triploid.
It suggest 3 fingers (tri-greek for three)
Didn't find a good pic though

Triploid 3 leaf sets instead of 2. Geting interesting once she becomes and adult. Alternating nodes (adult) after opposing nodes (young plants).

Was looking at that RH/TEMP chart.... not sure what the numbers are that meet at the middle??? It's a number what's it mean? At first glance, it's kinda black and white meaning the plant does this at x-y coordinates... II'm feeling plants dont really work like that. No grey area?? I haven't found plants to follow rules other than the laws of nature.
That said according to the scale, I've been in the sweet spot in flower and my plants are going crazy and doubling in size in 7 days of stretch and still growing.

I let the room get warm and humid in the am lights on, and open up a little and let the temps drop a little and the humidity. From the chart - anywhere in the 50-70F range for temps gives you a pretty big window for RH. The warmer it gets the sweet spot gets smaller.

Problems with high temps and high humidity are pests. They all like it warm for sure and PM likes it warm AND humid. For me humid in my flower room is like +55%RH. I try and keep it at low 50% and take evasive action (AC) at +70%RH.

Thats just how I do it.

Dutch the plants are coming along. Its going to get interesting once those big fat colas start filling in. You got the trimming down...1/2 the battle now it's going to be taming the cola! The next should help.

New gear is always fun... you didn't waste any time setting up, that was fast.

Clones - snip the ends off the fan leaves - it promotes root hormones and faster roots, but I'm 0-fer nine this round of clones in my cloner but 2 for 3 just cuts in a jar of water, go figure.

Yeah VPD is so crucial and overlooked. At one point I got so hyped on creating the dankest weed possible, I’m not sure if it’s the experience of it, or the accomplishment, either way I decided to do everything as optimal as I can, even down to the Co2 levels. Growing organically sure makes it easy though. I’ve only ever grown in a tent, in an apartment or house. Honestly I just use negative pressure to constantly keep the air moving, and perhaps you partially recirculate it or fully pump it back out into a sealed room or partially sealed room. I also use a fan speed controller to reduce some of the pressure; my grow tent has its sides sucked in by my fan even when I increased to 5x5. The humidifier should then be hooked up to a controller with a sensor to ensure you are able to automatically increase humdity when it falls too low, and rely on negative pressure when humdity is high, with the controller turning off the humidifier for you. You may have to play around with different room sealing tactics or try refeeding the tent some of the moist air you are pumping out, but definitely not at night time.
My thoughts were, if I’m going to even do this instead of buying my weed, then I’m going to do this as optimal as possible and get some dank stuff.
Sheds and the like, no experience whatsoever. I think when I take a summer off of grad school I’ll head back home to MI and my mother is getting her Med card, so I think we’re going to get a greenhouse going, as the laws require it to be an enclosed structure like a fence that can be locked, and enclosed on all sides. I figured.. why not greenhouse? Can’t wait to try outdoor :)

yeah that how i have my room its running on negative pressure also seems to keep everything in check and the room stays pretty solid and stable rh and temp wise

Hello Dutch :hugs:
Hope your taking care of fiance....
Oh.. Men.... What they do to be able to buy what they want lol

Massage therapy, personal training, Michigan State University track, Janus Henderson mutual fund investing shares, 10% back amazon rewards, grad school loans, Ride my bike every day, no car to pay for. Portland is pretty bike friendly.

Those are some awesome strains to have in triploids! :thumb:

Have you noticed a difference in potency and/or bud size? Did you take clones?

I lov them STRONG ass latta's' in the mornings...........

Opps when i do wake up,,,

which ain't till at least 2PM, I do tend to work the night shift,, when my lights come on from 9pm-9am.......

Oye, careful what you wish for brother.

Outdoors has a bunch more challenges than indoors. You need to know what to do about pests... and there are lots of them. Indoors is easy in comparo. Forget about VPD outdoors too... you're at the mercy of mother nature. PDX had a terrible outdoor season this year. Not enough sun and short flower time.

Where I live it rained 27 out of 30 days in September = recipe for disaster. October wasn't much different. Not going to get much flowers in that weather. Was humid AF my sidewalk had mold on top of green slime. Indoors had to run AC in the flower room for 5 months straight.

Good to see another organic grower. Firm believer if you want dank, gotta start with dank seeds. Genetics is most ALL of getting good quality.

As the old saying goes, cant turn a sows ear into a race horse. Specially true in agriculture.

Love Portland area... I love fresh salmon and all seafood. I swim train so I can eat as much as I want to. Been on an Ahi Tuna steak thing lately. Wish I could go down to market and get fresh catch of the day like you all do up your way.
