Dutch Kush, LSD, Strawberry Gum Grow Diary

Another one in 2.5L that didn't seem to mind - AKx

So the chop is imminent having used Flawless Finish/Water on the StrawGum for 6 days
Let me make sure I've understood this correctly...
Chop plant, remove bigger fan leaves
Dunk in room temp H2O2 solution and give it a stir
Hang it over the bath 22c 65% RH - I don't have A/C but I can leave the extractor fan on
Wait until it's dry to touch but not crispy and dry trim
Chuck it in a box in the fridge 12C 60% RH and keep an eye on it
Does that sound about right or just leave it in the bathroom for 10-14 days, then jar?
@013, anyone?

the lady on the left is 2 x strawberry gum in a 4.8L pot
on the right, all 2.5L pots

So how often u water the 4.8L and 2.5L? And what kind of volumes? Run offs drain to waste? I guess that one isnt sitting on pebble tray.

If u just gonna regural cure them inside the jar, make sure u open the jar time to time bro :D
If u just put 36-48hrs ”hang dried” weed in air tight jar (at that time RH inside the jar will be around 60-70%) they gonna rot in 10-14 days without letting the moisture out.

E: fuck my bad, brains doin cluster fuck haha. Ye after 10-14 days drying u can put them in jar and let them cure.

The 4.8L pots take about 1L water per day, 10% run off
The 2.5L take 0.5L per day with very little run off, if any
I usually cure by hanging in newspaper and it's great, but I feel it could be better
I've been to Amsterdam but only achieved that kind of quality once or twice despite some fantastic buds
The dry/cure thing is my last hurdle which I am trying to tackle to get it bang on

Cluster-fuck brain farts? You been on my Kush while I was out? LOL

1L and 0.5L water/feed at once? Or splitting it?
If the 4.8L pot takes 1L per 24h with 10% run off only, that sound weird to me  been running experiments with my 4L air pots now and they either dont drink shit anymore or the soil is too wet to hold anything, because been giving around 0.5-0.75L/24h and 0.5L gives me approx ~25% run off. And ye Ive only watered them once per day just because 0.5L gave me that much run off.

Tried to read people opinions as some people treats lite mix as any other inert medium such as coco and some people do just like u would do with the regural soil dry/wet cycles. Ofc theres many factors such as pot size, watering system etc. Still figuring out my 4l air pots golden path to the success

E: lmao ye  Been broke as hell last ~1,5weeks and ”the tolerance break” seemed to have done the job. The feeling u smoke the first bowl after the over week break

Yeah, suppose it depends on growth rates and all sorts
You're thinking about it, so you'll almost certainly find the right balance given time

Oi, @Listersmeghead you gonna give me a pointer on curing this bud right or wot?
I'm holding off the chop til I hear from you, so dial in mate and give me a shout

Think I would have been waiting til Christmas for this to finish, so down it comes
Rinsed in a room temp H2O2 solution, then plain luke warm water - some kind of mucky film like scum came off it which I skimmed off the top with a sponge, final rinse with distilled water in a mister

Whats the idea behind stirring them into water?

if its related to the trichomes, I thought giving a plant nice lil stress b4 the chop for example stem cut, ice water or complete darkness 36-48hrs would bring them up good enough.

The idea of rinsing in H2O2 is to remove dust and dirt on the leaves and in the stomata, also sterilizes the bud to eliminate bud rot
I also know from water curing that a lot of gunk builds up and can be leached out, debatable if the leaf/bud takes on fresh oxygenated water from the H2O2 at the same time
Problem with iced water is it freezes the resin making it brittle - that's the principle of ice extraction
If the water's too warm the resin turns to glue, sticks everything together so air flow is reduced for drying
Room temp - no problem

I wanted to try one plant under the @Mars Hydro TS1000, so I centered that and put a burple/red on the other two
Both lamps run 150w so let's see how they are flowering side by side
Admittedly they are all different strains, but you can kind of see a different structure, the TS producing more even, leafier canopy which should translate into bigger buds at the end
DSC_0124.JPG

The LED red is producing lots of flowers that look like they are reverting to sativa
The canopy and budding of the TS is remarkable
The one on the left you can see has pale green tops
I dosed it with BioGro and the bottom leaves are now moving nutes up the plant

Remember 2000K-2100K color temp would be best possible scale for the flowering plant.
idk if the led an option to fine tune the spectrum..

The LED has a bloom/veg mode, so generally the TS is set to 50% and the LED on just bloom
For about 4-6 hours in the middle of the day, the TS is whacked up to 75%+ and the LED switched full power, red + blue
It is turned down again towards the end of the day and set for the following morning
I am not too fussy about colour temps, EC, repotting autos, pruning in flower and all that jazz, it's just a plant and doesn't need to be grown under laboratory conditions
Most people run into problems because of trying to faff around with their plants to make everything 'perfect' when in fact they would be better left alone
I keep it pretty simple and rarely have any problems
