Jb, Think the hps is givin more volume, but the cfl's were much gentler and were more forgivin. Think Im gonna haveto feed more next time around cause they started getting deficiency problems quite early on. Think Ill power up the soil mix next round with a bit of rabbit shit from our dutch lopear, calcium, magnesium, extra bat guano, and Ill definately use the gravel mulch to prevent gnats. I wouldnt say the hps is making a crazy difference compared to the cfl's, but the hps is half the power. Ill know for sure once its all dried.

Sounds good mate. Soil mixes are fun to make aren't they? I love it. Since I using hps I can defo see a change, they growing really fast now, nugs swelling and leaves gone glossy. Still going to keep with cfl for veg though.

Another week has flown by and Im on day 49 since the flip to 12/12. The smell is now getting uncontrolable. When I open the door to the box so much stink leaks out that the house gets filled with the stench. I thought it was leaking, but have done a test whereby I didnt open the door for a day and there was no smell.
Heres a photo update so you can see the developement for yourselves.
Gotta water em tonite. Ill have to run the ionizer on full blast.

Hiyah,
Been Planning my next grow, The box is gonna get an overhaul. Mylar on the walls, passive intake in the bottom with a kitchen hood carbon filter. Catch tray for the run off, a wire base for them to sit on, Im making my own smart pots out of pond underlay sewn together. The cool tube will get a different set up also, carbon filter-fan-cooltube-out. Gowin for 1 blueberry white, 1 critical, 2 OG Kush. Heres the update on the girls.
Will regularly check the trichs with a microscope and will keep you posted.
Just want them in a jar now.

Trichs are about 60% cloudy 40% clear with a couple of amber and a bit of lint from my pyjamas.
Welcome aboard mono, this is the best part. prity sweet buds realy but the scale still disapoints me a bit. best i look at scaled down grows so i dont get jealous of the dudes with big rooms and big lights. dont know why i always want more cause ill get more than i can physicaly smoke till the next round. think im just greedy. Sorry im rambling.

Girls look ready to me. Im going for a medium ripe bud. The trichs were getting 80%cloudy 10%clear 10%amber, but then a couple of days ago they started to push new growth on the buds acompanied by fresh clear trichs. Now its more like 70-20-10. Its got me a bit confused. Do I let them go a bit longer? I dont want the end product to be to ripe so it knocks me out. Heres a couple of pics of em as of 10 minutes ago.
Think Im gonna chop em tonight, any thoughts as to wether to let them go or chop em now? If they hadn't had new growth they would be perfect now.

Yeh like Mcloadie said, they fine now but if you want them to knock you on the sofa , wait for more amber, you will also get more weight.
Funny, my shit always knocks me on the sofa, clear, cloudy, whatever, I think alot of it is strain specific. I won't even smoke my sativas, I prefer the mellower indicas, and I take them at the first amber trich. The mexikush just wrecks me, 3 hits and I'm done!
Yeh thats true, it is strain dependent, but general rule of thumb, cloudy is more lively feeling than amber couch lock I think. But yeh same all weeds knock me over these days

Thanks again for your help guys, this ones turning out to be quite tricky. Never had a problem before judging ripeness.
