Duggan Does Purple Envy, Star Pupil & Black Cherry Punch With Doc's Gear!

Before someone says “hellcat” by Detroit iron I mean those huge displacement ladder frame solid axle machines from the 60s and 70s.
They are not fast by today’s standards. My 4 cylinder wrx beat my uncles big block muscle cars and so does my v6 350z.
But if we are going to talk modern cars that’s a different story. That hellcat is crazy one of my neighbors has one. If I was going to waste a fortune on a new race car I would likely get a new gt-r, I drove my buddies and it really is scary fast, it made my 350z which is faster than most any 60s and 70s car seem very slow. Not going to do that though, more interested in retirement than more cars. I think I’ve had over 20 cars and 6 bikes in my life now hehe

Ok....my dream car...1997.Porsche ,993 twin turbo. It was the last of the air cooled twin turbos. When u drive these cars.....u need to learn how to drive all over again....the power is incredible!
Just point it it the right direction. Just a really sexy car.
One of these is my desktop wallpaper on my PC.cheers gang!

Just looked it up--beautiful!

Convertible you say Tree ???? Very rare car, where did you find that piece of , errrrr sorry Dodge fan here, car at... Lucky find, means hard to find parts... hmmmm... Green days Tree, and all

Mopar or no car!

I do like all or most classics and muscle cars. 1st gen Camaro, Duggan, sorry but 69 was the best. Firebirds are cool. Like em all but Mopar made limited # of cars back in the day so they're more unique. I've had 2 69 chargers. The key to corners it stepping On the gas! OG, I'm sure the rice burners can go fast and are sharp but sorry, they're not nearly as cool as old school Detroit muscle! To each their own right!?!

Well if you like old stuff check out the Japanese skyline from the 60s too, looked kind of like an American muscle car way back then.
I like the old Detroit muscle looks,
Sounds, and coolness too, just saying they are quite slow by today’s standards. My best friends Stock g37x family car can beat them in a drag race even. Hell my lexus suv can probably beat some of the old muscle hehe.
I also really like how easy the old cars were to work on, especially if you drop a crate motor in with only 8 wires to hookup ;-)

I get ya OG. Fastest I've had my charger going is 100 and that is rare, just like cruising out in the country. I'm sure I'd love cruising in a new sports car too! Probably get myself in trouble.

Duggan, those 69s are not cheap now. I considered them when I was looking, Chevelles too. Just t have a thing for the 2nd gen charger.

MY 350z does 155mph before the computer limits it hehe. Definitely troublesome ;-)
That’s why i switched to a convertible for cruising too. Usually at under 80mph to keep the wind down. Switched to slow me down, was always doing 120mph+ in the modded wrx and can only run and get away with it so many times... at least we have hardly any police on the streets here not like in America

Ya eh OG...remember getting off work one Fri....changed an intake manifold and carb on the 67......in the driveway...all done and running in less than one hr.....go figure eh. These days with these new vehicles ...i dont even open the hood...why bother....bahh!

That's the truth, I have looked at some and wonder "How do you get to the motor?"
Looks like at least an hour to expose it.

I watch the Mecum auto auctions on cable tv and let me tell ya its a little addictive.
Give me an idea of what these classic gems of my childhood are going for.
Anyone seen it?

I agree modern cars are a pain in the but to work on and I’ve swapped motors and trannies in modern vehicles. But It sure is nice having coils and link arms and independent suspension, and Ac and defrost that works well, and all the other modern luxuries like Ac in the seats
Plus if you want easier, pull the stock motor and put in a crate motor, then the swaps are quite easy just make engine and tranny mounts, new driveshaft, new exhaust - easy

Yup, I get pulled into those sometimes. I think decent cars can be had for less but if you want to see outrageous prices watch Barrett Jackson. Rich folk and their money...

Nice muscle cars that are NOT the special unicorn models can be had through a dealer from the Adesa and Mannheim dealer only auctions really cheap too.
Just not the most desirable models that people colect those are still expensive

The thing about the old muscle cars was how primitive and awesome they were at the time. Compared to today, they were pure crap.

Yeah, I'd take a modded WRX any day. But have you had a ride in one of the oldies, OG? It's just so ... wrong, y'know? They roar and rattle and shimmy ... just a bigass torquey motor in a box that can barely handle it, and you're pinned back on a bench seat hoping it'll be ok. And if you come up to a corner? Gigantic understeer, restrained chaos, prayer ... then more roaring and shimmying ...

Quite a ride for a teenager. That Nova was just so ... wrong ... o_O

(No airbags, steel dashboard, no seatbelts ... )
