Re: Duggan Does Lilly & Laniakea With DBHBB - One Kit - Two Pots - Four Plants

Good morning all my brothas...and sistas (there's a bunch of ya's now...:thumb:)
Hope ya's all had a great holiday , Sunday night and a great "sleep in". I just got up now and it's a lil after 9. Coffee's brewin , kids are still sleepin...got some PC time here...have an awesome day everyone.
OH ya , almost forgot, the slow Lilly may get chopped ...i'm disgusted with her, totally. She has begun to bloom ,but really , really slow. The other three look a good two weeks ahead of her and i'm not very happy about it! It's gonna throw a huge wrench in my plans. This is one reason i just don't like doing separate strains in my lil GR. I'm starting to think it's not a Lilly but some other tropical sativa. Reminds me of one of Doc's Colombians from a while ago....remember the ones he had to start in bloom when they were only a few inches tall, cuz he (Doc) new they were gonna be a PITA if he let them get too big.....well this Lilly is just like them...seems that way , anyhow. i just keep SCing her ...bending and breaking her leaders...she doesn't even seem to care that i do it, she just keeps on growing....her twin is behaving properly and has begun to flower properly. I just hate when this happens....friggen unstable shit! I just don't like seeing such huge differences in phenos....i don't like it , one bit, and it pisses me off. anyhow , i'l get over it i'm sure. just dunno how i'm gonna deal with this....still deciding! If i cull her that will seriously cut into my much needed yield....so....!

Have a great holiday Monday gang and spread around some smiles out there. We're all here and that's a huge plus in my books.:Namaste::circle-of-love:

Understand your frustration!! I would ride her out no reason to get rid of her unless u have another girl to take the space.Ride her out hopefully she will surprise. Hope you have a great Sunday and I hate different phenos or when they r that different. Great journal keep up the great work. Much respect!!

Let her finish, bro. Chop the rest when ready then you'll have her a couple few weeks later.

Major, i can't let her finish....remember bud, as soon as i chop and trim , they get hung in the GR . for a week + or- and then the replacements get moved in there. There is NO time for a lazy Sativa to hang around...i need the GR for the next ones cuz by then they will be screamin to get more soil and more light. What a big PITA when this happens. OK, that's it , no more Sativas for me...i've tried . When i read about Lilly being a 100% Sativa but with a 7-8 week bloom time , i jumped all over it...the breeder was WRONG with this strain....not me , they said 7-8 weeks. What they should add to the strain description is that ya , they bloom in 7-8 weeks but take 6 weeks before they even start to bloom...RATS SOUP guys! I think i may go with BC God Bud next. i know how they perform , a nice super strong tasty Indica with a squat final appearance and a great yield. cheers everyone!

OY! I forgot about using the room for drying. Crapadillo!

With F1 you're always gonna see very different phenos, that's just what it is about. One father leaning pheno, one mother leaning pheno and a mix of both. On the other hand you should look for a hybrid that delivers sativa high but has a classic induca structure with your flowering schedule. Green Crack comes to mind.

Thats why when I commit to a strain I research that strain, its parents and their parents. This way I know theres a possibility of a stupid pheno to rear its head. The only time ive been really surprised was that small thick blue dream pheno. There was no way it was a haze.
Sorry to hear that Duggs. I'd say cull her and let the other plant fill in the space and get all that soil energy bro. Throw some roots on the side with the dead rootball. It should help out the living one

Ya...i know Conrad...i should expect this from F1's. Doesn't make it any easier when two very different phenos pop up...it's just a luck thing, i guess...and if ya's know me...i don't have a lot of luck! cheers bud!:Namaste:

Ya, i'm still thinkin about it bud....dunno yet! Thanks for that though my friend. cheers and have a great day would ya!

And here comes the romantic bird flying... THAT is called devotion!! She commits to give clones..she loves you no matter what you do to her (duggan bending etc..) :circle-of-love:
And you want to chop her down???!!! hm....

That sounds like the Thai side is really prominent. It should result in a clear, speedy buzz. If you need the space to dry them, I'd leave it until the last of those is done and cut her then. At the worse you still should have some fairly potent, but clear headed, meds to make into edibles or cco.

If you're wanting a sativa buzz with a fairly compact, fast flowing, I'd go try ace's kali China. It's feminized, which I know you want. And Dubi really knows his stuff with breeding. It's on my grow list. I just wish it came in regular seeds as well.

Kali China is one of the strains that takes us more time to develop, reaching the top breeding refinement of our China Yunnan hybrids.

It's a compact and fast flowering plant of indica behavior, which flowers produce a unique and complex aroma, and a refined tropical sativa effect.

Like in 'haute cuisine', Kali China stimulates very different organoleptic areas, making this strain a delightful experience of the highest gastronomic level.

Its effect stands out because of its complexity and sativa nature. Surprising traits for a plant of only 45-55 days of flowering time, that is easy to cultivate indoors without height problems.

Official description:

STABILIZED HYBRID
GENETICS: 75 % INDICA / 25 % SATIVA.

(Kali Mist x China Yunnan) x China Yunnan
FLOWERING INDOORS: 8-9 WEEKS.
FLOWERING OUTDOORS: End of September / Early October.
YIELD/M2: Average

RESISTANCE AGAINST SPIDER MITES: AVERAGE-HIGH
RESISTANCE AGAINST MILDEW: AVERAGE
RESISTANCE AGAINST BOTRYTIS: AVERAGE
RESISTANCE AGAINST COLD: AVERAGE - HIGH

STRUCTURE: Indoors it grows compact and columnar. Outdoors develops more branching with a rounder shape.

BOUQUET: Mango juice, sweet cream, incense, hash, grill meat and oriental spices.

EFFECT: Powerful, psychedelic and sensorial effect of SE asian sativa, with a relaxed, introspective and meditative development.

GROWING TIPS
It can be grown very easily indoors. In order to obtain the best results indoors, we recommend warm temperatures (around 25ºC) during the growing stage and the first 4 weeks of flowering.

In the last month, temperatures should be reduced to 20ºC for the rest of the flowering process.

Outdoors matures without problems until latitude 47ºN.

Breeding details:

Kali China is one of my more personal projects. It started around 10 years ago when i was growing chinese yunnan for the first time. One year before, i did a kali mist selection from seed and selected 3 great KM females, one was quite short, fast flowering (65-70 days) with a great hashy incensey aroma and clear sativa effect.

I put a clone of this Kali Mist female while i was reproducing the pure chinese yunnan for the first time. So the origins of the cross are Kali Mist female x China Yunnan male (same chinese father of the old Orient Express F1).

I grew the KM x China cross. Kali Mist is a complex hybrid, so i found quite a lot variability in the cross too, despite the chinese introduced some P1 predictability.

I avoided the taller, slower flowering and non hazy (in terms of aroma/taste) plants.

I was lucky enough to find what i consider was the archetype of my goal with the cross: a compact and fast flowering hash plant (50-55 days) of chinese indica apperance, with a very complex incensey aroma (mango juice, sweet and sour cream, incense, hash, grill meat, wood, oriental spices ....), a perfect blend of my favourite organoleptic and growing traits from both lines, together in one plant.

This selected female also had an incredible tropical sativa effect that starts like a refined thai, deriving towards a more calm, meditative and introspective chinese effect. I liked a lot what i found so i decided to keep working on the hybrid.

The selected Kali China female was backcrossed to chinese (Kali Mist/China x China), in both standard and feminized format. To produce the feminized backcross, i reversed my favourite China female to pollinate the special Kali China mum. The feminized backcross showed better outcome than the standard one.

Then i selected again from the feminized backcross a female that was as close as possible to the 'elite' mum found in the initial outcross. I reversed this new backcrossed selected female to pollinate her best sisters from the same generation.

So the released Kali China feminized version is: (Kali Mist x China) x China and then inbred one generation.
