Duggan Does Kosher Kush With DBHBB: 4 Plants, Two Pots, Lots Of LEDs!

Mornin' Duggs...Alright I'm calling on all of the high brix guys for this one. If I was to pick up a brix refractometer, is there a brand or specs that you would recommend. I get that automatic Temp compensation is good to have. Just don't want to get get a cheap one and not function properly. But don't want to spend $300 also. Thanks gang!

Mornin Nis, ya with those meters , they are inexpensive and you can pick up one for around 30 bones off of flee bay. They're all pretty much the same ...a very basic devise...i think the guy who lent me his paid 25 dollars for it and it works just fine. Cheers eh and have an awesome Sat.:circle-of-love:

The cheap ones work fine - at least for me. You want the type with a range of 0-32. Mine was under $20 and still does the job quick and easy.

Picked up a refractometer and 100 pipettes for $28. Will be here Monday. Thanks to everyone that voiced their opinion. I'm guessing brix will be around 6 lol.

I'm using Doc's kit for the first time. Actually, it's my first indoor grow. but, I've seen enough grows go wrong on these journals and in person. Plants nute burned, disease, insects, bad soil. I have not even come close to any of these problems others have. From day one, she was beautiful and still is. Effortless.

I don't even have an interest in my Brix readings. My buddy has the $300 model and I still don't care. Every morning when she wakes and I look at her, I know she is happy and healthy. She reaches for the light. I swear she smiles.

I see the importance of Brix testing when trying new products or testing new methods, but right now I'm a follower. I'm following directions and I'm sure she'll finish above 12. Too many people have followed the directions before me and had higher readings than that. I don't know enough about the kit and cultivation methods for Brix readings to be of any use to me.

In your case though, a reading that you can compare to some of the other kit users would be enlightening. I think the consensus of the kit users is:

Doc's kit isn't the best. It's a path forward. With prohibition falling out of favor, the sky is the limit. And, I believe Doc's kit will be leading the way.

Right on Nis,...good choice, like Mason says a lil later, as long as they are happy and looking good, i don't bother with it. I'm no scientist...sure i'm curious sometimes , but , if the leaves are glossy with a good attitude and posture, i know the brix is very high.Glad you got one though, remember, when you use it though, to always do it the same way , every time , from the same source. Try and establish a pattern to your testing , so ya can trust the readings. Cheers Nis.

I think I knew her in high school.

:high-five:

Hell - I married her.
:rofl::tokin:

Hey Mason , brotha, you and me think the same about taking Brix readings, exactly the same. If they're smilin at ya , and no problems are luming,...all's good.
About Doc's gear and the "kit" I can sum it up without too much rambling now, after using it for this long. Before this method i tried most of the other ones over about 30 yrs. or so , finishing up experimenting, or should i say trying to get it right, the soil that is. The last method before the "Kit" was Doc's 6/5/3 method. The beauty of this way , is the people with lab coats on every day....did the science behind it, period...there is virtually NO guess work , but still provides room for tweaking and putting your own flare to it , so to speak. When you have a reliable mix and method that works in containers,... with minimal work and risk ,it's a major accomplishment. The guess work has been removed by the "lab" and Doc's refinements and species attention.
Cheers eh...what a day...spent about 3 hrs. installing a bath fan in my GF's house, from scratch , vented out thru the soffit...i was sweating bullets in the hot attic, running wire , insul. duct, etc. all on my belly....F....sakes. Anyhow , i'm home now...she's comin over (Marilyn) a little later to watch the game with me. :thumb:

Docs Kit... I play with it like its Open Sourced..;)
Don't stop Ziggs...we're on the front lines...:Namaste:

Too easy! Anyone else want to take a stab at this?
:passitleft: Try a lil MLI Mason....ahhhh, yaa.
Red Hat or Black Hat?
:high-five:

It's so hard looking at these totes filled with awesome soil knowing I can't touch them until June.

Hey bud,...you will be fine,..remember to stick with Promix for the one gal. pots with a Drench of Transplant at upcan time. They will be great with that and a bit of GE ...pretty soon they will be in your finals with your DBHBB soil and all you'le be doing , is smiling. Cheers pal.

hey gang...got a few pics , but only a few minutes to get em up here ....GF's. on her way over....so just a bunch of random stuff showing some resin already, the trimmed up bottoms, and the new light of course...she's a beauty eh...well....
Back pot has had her two CD's. and the front has had an OG Drench. I've been fighting with a salt (Mg) issue for a couple weeks but refuse to pour on the Epsoms cuz they've both had plenty already. As i said before , this strain wants to show like this...dunno why. when i check out other grows of it , i see the same thing in bloom with the leaf edges curling up like a MG. shortage. Dunno, first time with this .Anyhow , have an awesome night everyone...cheers .
