Duggan Does Desfran: Destroyer X Destroyer!

Welcome to the wonderful world of REAL sativa's. Very few have ever smoked one.

Trust me, it's worth it. One thing you can do is go to 11/13 and use Cat Drench all the way through on the slow one.

Doc,

I have what appears to be a straight sativa, I am guessing Oaxacan or Thai by Nirvana's catalog of sativa strains. A freebie that grew so big, 7ft, it was up and over the lights.

I chopped it back to about 3ft and she still would not flower in the room. Barely showing hairs and the rest of the grow was already harvested.

I cloned her and she is now in the room again and hopefully will flower this time.

Question is should I use extra Cat on her?

Ya Neiko....just not sure what to do with her. I know if she is allowed to finish properly she would no doubt be awesome but ,i feel like i got ripped off sort of, ya know. I had no plans to grow a 20-22 week Sativa. The Desfrans are supposed to be 9-10 weeks!!!!!!!!!!What gives...i'm pissed! When the front two finish that one will still have between 5-7 weeks left ,so....if i leave it ,she won't be mature ,so,,just dunno what to do.

Thanks FF....pretty fu...ed up genes ,these Desfrans. Wonder what the breeder would tell me about her eh?

Think of it this way.

The Destroyer parents are a result of many generations of backcrosses between two stable inbred lines. The goal of so many sativa breeding projects is to capture that special something from a Thai parent, with a more well behaved sativa, or in some cases a stabilized hybrid.

So when you buy Destroyer seeds, all the girls are sisters, and all the sisters are beautiful.

As I understand the Desfran project, another breeder selected some Destroyer parents. Even though the sisters are mostly the same, chances are there would be more variability amongst the males of the line.

So Desfran is a cross between a likely male Destroyer with one of his sisters. These crosses are likely to produce a lot of variability, with occasional throwbacks to one of the ancestors, in this case the Thai.

Variability is the price you pay, but the reward might be something special. The flavours and high from the Desfran are likely unique, with some traits of the destroyer strengthened, and others moved to the background.

Having said all that, I do feel your pain. I've seen your cookie recipes, and with cookies like those you have to keep the production line rolling!

if you decide to cull the Thai-like plant, the two in the front will have more room to fatten up.

Cheers and good luck! :peace::passitleft:

Rascio ...thanks for all that bud. It all makes sense. There are people out there that would prolly love this weird long pheno...Not me. Got some pics here ,i just took a few min's. ago . Not much time ,check out the difference in the two pots. Cheers gang, gotta book...have a look.

I'm with neiko here. Obviously you're unhappy about it. Why stress?

Hell yeah!! Those are gorgeous! But I agree with Doc, if they need to be chopped...chop em!!! And that back one would have me pissed off too Duggs! Ive noticed over time you like to keep a schedule and that plant is NOT on your schedule! Ive culled 6 plants in the last month and 1 more is on its way out!

Yep.......it's 8.5x20.......but the wifey says I can only have bout the last 6-7 feet.....so 6 or 7x8.5.....the rest is unfinished storage......now I'll have room to cull some or try some of them outrageous sativas.....but let's not get ahead of myself still trying to finish a lady with out over feeding or something else......lol.:passitleft:

Beautiful! I built homes and buildings for about 11 years. Miss it!! :)

That front pheno is really really nice! You have frost all over the fans and the buds are already plump with weeks to go! :thumb:

Spectacular, bro - you're hitting it outta the park. :slide:

The thing about the rear one that bothers me is yield. I doubt it's gonna pull its weight, y'know?

Good morning Gang....Ya Gray .i'm gonna leave her in the back....and yield looks like it's gonna suck with her , i know eh! The main stalk on her is huge ,and i've bin fighting with them for so many weeks.....when the front pot is done ....and i mean done, i'l give the back one another week or so while the front one sits waiting. That's the plan this morning, so , we'le see. Thanks for noticing the front two Gray...ya they are coming along really nice and still have 6 or 7 weeks left.
They got switched to 11/13 and got they're first CD last night of 30mls. /4 gal's water, each pot. Next drink...they will get the same unless i see behaviour indicating too strong. I suspect the front pot will continue to explode. It's not them ....it's that back SLOW pheno that really worries me . I'l try and stop bitching about her and just see how she responds to the Cats.
Cheers gang....sorry not much time this past week as i have had the boys. Please bare with me....i'm still here OK!:Namaste::circle-of-love:
