Ya Neiko....just not sure what to do with her. I know if she is allowed to finish properly she would no doubt be awesome but ,i feel like i got ripped off sort of, ya know. I had no plans to grow a 20-22 week Sativa. The Desfrans are supposed to be 9-10 weeks!!!!!!!!!!What gives...i'm pissed! When the front two finish that one will still have between 5-7 weeks left ,so....if i leave it ,she won't be mature ,so,,just dunno what to do.
Thanks FF....pretty fu...ed up genes ,these Desfrans. Wonder what the breeder would tell me about her eh?
Think of it this way.
The Destroyer parents are a result of many generations of backcrosses between two stable inbred lines. The goal of so many sativa breeding projects is to capture that special something from a Thai parent, with a more well behaved sativa, or in some cases a stabilized hybrid.
So when you buy Destroyer seeds, all the girls are sisters, and all the sisters are beautiful.
As I understand the Desfran project, another breeder selected some Destroyer parents. Even though the sisters are mostly the same, chances are there would be more variability amongst the males of the line.
So Desfran is a cross between a likely male Destroyer with one of his sisters. These crosses are likely to produce a lot of variability, with occasional throwbacks to one of the ancestors, in this case the Thai.
Variability is the price you pay, but the reward might be something special. The flavours and high from the Desfran are likely unique, with some traits of the destroyer strengthened, and others moved to the background.
Having said all that, I do feel your pain. I've seen your cookie recipes, and with cookies like those you have to keep the production line rolling!
if you decide to cull the Thai-like plant, the two in the front will have more room to fatten up.
Cheers and good luck!
