Duggan Does ACE's A5 Killer Haze & A5 x Panama, Tester Strain, In DBHBB

Krip, i have already taken this light 'down' and supplied Advanced with 3 separate photos of the inside of the light as per their request many , many weeks ago. I know it's a power supply problem , however , without replacement parts ...tell, me please, what is your point of doing this again. The light needs a new power supply , Advanced even said so themselves but have not sent me that/those parts for me to repair , so me taking the light down again at such a critical time in my grow is NOT gonna happen. as i said , i gave them plenty of time to make this right. I need the light fixed in this lifetime NOT the next......

That's an expensive light. Can you get a part no. for the power supply and source it yourself? On second thought, with "All of the lights that they gave out for reviews in years past , are all malfunctioning at this point as well," it may not be worth it.

Hey Salty,...ya but it really is a good light,..not as good as the Budmaster2 , but it is powerful and it's shape is just wat i need. You have a good point though....i do have the photos, i sent them , so i might be able to source them , but like i said,...it's too late now,...for this grow...it's 'in use' and is working ok. I don't take as many photos now , however cuz turning it off for 5 min's. and then back on is not good for the power supplies. When my plants are in bloom , or anytime , i never take photos until they 'wake up' for a bit. I'm not sure , bright flashes are especially good for them before the lights come on. It's just sumpin i don't do. Cheers eh.
Oh, why not mention a very important 'aspect' with this light. It has the same 'can' construction as the Budmaster2, with the square modules , or clusters of led's. Remember a while back ..last grow when one of the BM's clusters had failed,...Paul , from BM sent me two new clusters and two new power supplies...not done yet....with that light , the Budmaster2, 675XG i took it down and didn't relize i could have just taken four small screws out from the outside, gently remove faulty cluster, has quick connect plug leading to power supply. Then simply install replacement , without having to take the down and literally , take it all apart to do the same job on the Advanced. This is a major plus for the design of the BM's. Ramblin....my apologeez.......puffin some Chronic.....:ganjamon:

I know it's a power supply problem

I didn't realize you had already diagnosed the issue. If so, no reason to take the light down!

Can you get a part no. for the power supply and source it yourself?

This was my point, exactly! Those same power supplies are likely used in many different products. If you can get a part#, even if back-ordered from the manufacturer, you may be able to cross to a compatible part from a different manufacturer.

Hell, I have two different types "spare" power supplies for two different older LED's I used to use. If any of those would work, I'd send them to you! :high-five:

It is worth noting that the two different power supplies were for two different lights from the SAME manufacturer. One was used in a 240w and the other in a 500w.

Thanks Krip. My bad, i thought you knew about this. Yes, i will post a pic.

OK....Now, I may be confused. I was pretty sure I had two types of spares but now I need to check. The ones I have look shorter than yours and I did find two different kinds, but they both appear to have the same spec's:

You're the electrician, so you'll know better than I if they'll work for you, but I do have a total of three of them and they're yours if you can use them.

I thought it was a different spec for the other light so now I need to see if I can dig up another power supply or I was just confused by the two different brands. :hmmmm:

Looks like we were posting together and I didn't this pic before my last post. It looks like your unit is 1200mA and mine are 600mA. I don't know how much of a difference that makes, but I can get you two if that helps!:rofl::rofl:

Thanks so much for this offer Krip. When this crop is done i can take it down and get into this deeper, as i will need to get accurate dimensions of the ones in there. The parts are packed pretty close in there , so no room to spare. Also , there are two , maybe three different ones in there , so i will need to examine it to check and see which one is the failing one. Cheers.

Ahh, ya, that does matter, quite a bit . The 600 mA will not drive the clusters enough, i suspect. Also , if they do, they will likely run much hotter as they will be running at max power output.

Gotcha! Well, if you find you can use one (or more) or need more info like measurements, like I said, I'm happy to send them to you! :high-five:

I'd wait to see if Advanced comes back first. If you break any of those DFWM seals Advanced may void any remaining warranty. I've had a servo driver company do that to me. I guess I had to be more than an Electronic Technologist to work on their gear.

Thanks Gray for that! Salty , not sure u are aware of the 'goings on' with Advanced for my light. I have already broke a seal taking it apart for pics requested by Advanced of the inside of the unit. Not sure why they would have me do that but , all the same i will have to wait until this current grow is done to get the light on my workbench and then have to figure out which driver/s are failing. The issue i will have with replacement parts , are the actual physical dimensions of the part/s because of everything being crammed into the light with NO room to spare. See the issue i have. Not every power supply will meet these requirements as 'space' becomes an issue. I won't know exactly wat to order off the web until i take it all apart. Cheers and thanks so much everyone for tips , suggestions , info etc. You guys all rock....:high-five:
