Looking forward to this one Ziggy.

If you ever get the chance...it's the "full melt" that ya wanna try .Just handling it...makes it go all gooey.Very strong and pure...imagine your fav. weed but without the vegetative matter...just the heads. I have lots...i could share...;) Have a nice night .

Too bad we're not in the same neighborhood Duggan. I'd be knocking at your door right about now. :laughtwo: Full Melt - is that the technique you did the tutorial on? That was an excellent guide. I'll research and prepare for a future adventure. Need to price bags. :battingeyelashes:

Yes it is....the full melt usually comes out of the 73u bag but the other bags have good stuff too...it really all depends how long you let it mix for. The longer the mix the more impurities it will have in it. I always mix for only 3-5 min's. ...that way only the heavy mature gland heads will be in the bags with very, very little vegetable matter...hence the purity! Thanks for the kind encouraging words last week btw, Sue. It meant a lot to see some of you post on my journal like that. I'm starting to come around and when I get some time, I'm gonna post on my thread and will have some new pics of the almost ready Desfran and ....YES...three new lil ones of Zamal Hash doing very well in second run soil. Cheers Sue....got the boys tonight for my lil guy's hockey. prolly go on my journal after that .

I fill the beer cups only 1/2 way with soil at first. I then will cover the stem with more soil, and Roots! added so it roots from the buried stem in a few days.

Watcha doin that for Ziggs? ....Why ya fu...in around like that pal? I've recently asked a landscaper about that....he said some people put way too much mulch around the base of their trees...and what starts to happen is,...the trunk will shed it's bark and start to make roots going out into the mulch cuz it's usually moist and sees no light anymore so it makes roots there....one big problem he said...the plant loses all it's strength in that area untill it developes brand new roots that are stronger than the originals....iv'e seen this happen myself as well. Why do you do this Ziggs when the'res no need too?Mornin BTW and have an awesome day pal! :high-five:

Bro i think it is different for woody plants that for annuals. In veg gardening many growers plant their pepper and tomato stems deep. Roots grow pretty quickly from the buried stem. I can see the logic in Zigs technique.

In woody plants the base of the trunk above the flare should not be covered because it invites infection and blocks root respiration.

Ok then...thanks VonD...explains it well. Cheers pal!

I'll have to try that Zig.

I'll have to try that Zig.

Ziggy, how tall do you let them get before you add more soil and Roots!?

Sorry. :laughtwo: I picked up BAR's post instead of yours. It would help if I clarify I was asking about the seedlings. I want to try this next run.

Thanks Ziggy. Very helpful. :battingeyelashes:

Hey ziggy, you are using regular seeds right? Would you say there is any one practice that stands out in sexing plants in small spaces? If like to run regulars but I don't for lack of space. Do you think if I were fl run a few different seeds from a few different strains at once id be able to catch the males pretty easily when flowering from seed?

Sorry if that's a convoluted question. I'm typing from my phone :)

I'm just trying to establish a work flow in my head for regs.
