DrZiggy's 1st Journal Featuring High Brix - LEDs & Cool Strains

Started new SWICK ..same sized tote top, and pots, azalea, only 11 instead of 12...
I feel the extra space will give the plants and me more room to feed, water, grow..

this will be started, has soil in it.. on thursday after seeds soak. will be place top rack under my small toplightLED for a month. then moved to the P450+, for a month to be place under the P600+ until finished..Wash, Rinse, Repeat..

a harvest 1x every 4-6 weeks of incredible herb after the 3 tote SWICKs are at every station...just start one SWICK every month or so..

under 11/13 from seed, my SWICK is blooming fully after 6 weeks, maybe 4+? We will find out together.. :)

Current SWICK is doing pretty well.

I am so going to duplicate this Ziggy. Right from the beginning. I'm going to sit down tonight and follow it through from when you started to see how you pulled it off.

What have you learned that has changed your approach? This quick turnaround of numerous plants is exactly what I envisioned when I started growing. It's been eerie watching you do it right in front of me.

Some nice ingenuity there Zig, using every inch of height.

I learned that 12 is at least 1 too many... 11 looks to allow more room for development.
I'm looking forward to have the 3 SWICKS at different stages running at same time.
some plants are over 2 ft tall. mot are 14-16". The Bubblegums and WW are doing well.
The 5 other plants are unknowns...
i need to top dress more EWC and maybe some recharge, and roots.
better pics coming in day or 2.

Ziggy, I'm so excited right now I'll be lucky to get to sleep. I'm going down to Lowe's tomorrow and purchase the tote, because that's the strongest lid I've seen so far and at $14, why not?

I can jury rig some shelving to get the height set. I only need one lid this month, I can pick one up every month until I have the three I'll need. No need to slice the pots (glad I didn't do that). Seeds get started in pots they finish in.

Soil, pots, SWICK, shelving, light, kit. Have I missed anything. Well, seeds, of course. Silly me. :laughtwo:

It's a good thing I have such generous supporters and have some seeds to play with. :green_heart:

Reg, this is right up your alley. I know your thing is the 2 liter bottles, but these are just azalea pots. Think of it. Don't you just love the simplicity, the balance, the standardization of an easy to handle pot?

Yeah, I'm excited. Think about it Reg.

Sue, this second SWICK is my 1st to start in a SWICK.
Im watering until 1st drench anyway. Should work great.
My next SWICK, next month, some plants will be started in beer cups and upcanned to the azalea pots. I want to see the difference an extra 2 cups of soil and its roots can make in a plant with a small pot. :)

Start them out under CFLs, move them under some T5s and finish under the LED. How long did you say they were taking to finish?

Now, price the T5s.

i estimate another 4 weeks..total 10-12 weeks from seed. I will try to get better pics..The GE drench really started the buds a plumping..
I might do another CAT series...then finish with GE and Transplant/Tea

So that's where you came up with the three sections in one month shifts. Ok. Perfect sense. I have the Dark Devil going and I'm seriously considering (hell, already decided) to utilize that open spot with another seed. I'm doing the kit soil the same way you are. My first batch can go the entire way under the LED, the next group can start under CFLs (Oooo, the chance to build a CFL fixture!). By the time I need something else it's July and I have money for T5s.

I was decarboxylating some cannabis for the daughter's bedtime brownies and forgot all about it. It was the last four grams of Buddha I had to offer her for these. I left it in the oven for probably two hours. Awk!!! I'm testing it out right now to see how much damage I did. Near as I can tell it improved it.

Tell me the universe doesn't smile on me. Dodged that bullet. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Hey Zig... Thanks for putting up with me today.

It actually has me thinking of more ways to maximize our real estate. Using the spare vertical space never even occurred to me

These shallow trays will make it easier to let them dry out in the early stages, should you determine that it's necessary. I think I'm going to try a couple in cups first too. I was also thinking about splitting my initial eight pots between the LOS and the HB kit. It will give me an opportunity to watch them side-by-side. Maybe 5 Kit and 3 LOS, since I already have the Dark Devil going and plan to put another seed into the pot with it.

Ziggy, I'm so excited. Thank you for the inspiration. I've been showing Dale your pictures and he's getting excited too.

Morning Ziggy. I potted up the soil, picked out the list of seeds to be planted and have the pots sitting on the SWICK hydrating and getting ready for planting on Sunday. I'm so glad I finally made the decision to commit.

Now I just need to get the tent loaded by then.

Here we go Ziggy. We're bucking the system by popping seeds on the SWICK. Won't it be interesting when it works? :laughtwo::green_heart:

My Build A Soil order includes 2 one gallon geo pots with Velcro closures. I think I'll plant at least one to compare. It'll only take a small slip of real estate under the lights.

I love your setup Zig!
