DrZiggy's 1st Journal Featuring High Brix - LEDs & Cool Strains

The Jersey Tomato tastes suffered when they went from using Chilean Nitrate to Urea, and other N sources. The lack of sodium changed the way the Jersey Tomato tastes...and it was not a good change.

MIght not have been the lack of sodium....it could also be the fact that urea is for all practical purposes an amoniacal nitrogen source and that will definitely change the flavor. Less sweet, more gamey.

Chilean Nitrate is Sodium Nitrate..

Im using sea water from not far from where I live. It was very cold retrieving it :)
The bucket is in my tent, and will room temp. I diluted it earlier with warmer tap water.

Have you considered aerating it? Just a passing thought.

Well, still an experiment worth trying, but just to bring the numbers, and not to be a stickler, seawater has 11000 NaCl ppm on average, so dilute it well, Zig. Are you gonna take Brix reading after your operation?

Ya eh Ziggs...Prolly won't see much w/only a week to go.Will you have another one or two to compare to .Cheers.

Duggan, I have several to try it on..:) they are still seeds and seedlings..i will be using sea water on the Buddha Tahoe OG in addition to the kit..the other BT OG will just be kit.
My 3 Bubblegum and 4 WW 1-2" tall were given a little water today. :)

Other seeds have popped up ..waiting on the BT OGs to sprout

That's great Ziggs....at least we can all see the comparison and be able to tell what the added sea water has or has not done for your girls!Cheers pal.....Duggs.

One busy a$$ tent..

Yes indeed Zig, one busy tent. I'm looking at it and working out the particulars of how I can transform my tiny 1x2' space to accommodate stages of development under an LED light. From what I can see if you get it right the seedlings start out at a particular distance and as they grow they would naturally close that gap. The trick would be keeping the distances from the light on track. Hmmmm I need a spot for seedlings, early veg and all out flowering. Logistics. I love it.

I once worked with Dale to reconfigure the plant fossil collection in our world-class natural museum. We added 7 new cabinets to an already over crowded space and still opened up the entire area to include work surfaces to make it easier to curate the collection. It's all about the advance planning.
