Dr Bob Comes Home With Fruit Punch & Lemonista Aid - So Please Don't Be Critical

Happy little ones Doc, so happy daze! :)

Thanks for coming by my freind. Can't wait to see your new strains that you secured on your trip. That will be fun to follow.

These girls should be even happier when they get all comfy in a felt pot full of PeeJay's best vegging soil!

Nice work on those felt pots bud. Is Cannafan a lady?? Will have to make sure my manners are up to scratch when I reply to her posts. LOL

2 of those plants are looking great. Unfortunately, those other 2 seem to be really sensitive. It happens. Might be tough to get them dialed in. Good luck bro!

ROFL! Yepper, I'm a lady. But certainly don't hold back on that account, I have heard and seen it all. It just flips right over my head without a thought. This is a predominantly male arena....we have to understand that it will be "man talk".

"Muddle through" :biglaugh: May I muddle through this grow anywhere near as well as you do!

I think it will get really interesting when it comes time to start rejuvenating the soil to use it over and over. Thats when I will need your Jedi touch to add what it needs back, without going over. The Nutes is Right, get as close as possible without going over! I think I just invented a new MJ Game show!

And nothing says Machismo like a bunch of guys hanging out talking about growing flowers and sewing projects with felt. :bigblush:

It's a damn good thing I wasn't standing on the ladder I've been putting to use the last few hours. I would have tumbled off that thing with laughter. And it would have been all your fault!
The irony is, I've been working with power tools all day while you guys are talking about sewing.....

Hey now! A sewing machine is a power tool right? :laughtwo:

Who am I kidding, there is only one power tool I am interested in today. :volcano-smiley:

All this laughter, hurts! Ohhhh it hurts soo good!

Time for a proper update with things really moving. The Yum Yum Mix arrived today and soil was finally possible. I ended up mixing 14 gallons of soil and after settling it was just barely enough to fill the new felt pots we made. I had to warm it up as my Pro Mix started the day as a frozen plug out in the greenhouse.

How's about a look...

I actually think the Fruit Punches look better now than they did yesterday. It is cooler and moister now and I hope they are happy in the new soil.

As you can see, I am under CFLs right now, but that will change on Tuesday as my new Mars Hydro 400 for the flower tent will arrive. That will push a reflector into the veg tent! Let there be purple lights!

Speaking of the flower tent.

Everybody just went through a flush and I have a pretty bad P deficiency I am thinking. Soil is too wet from the flush to add anything but I am wondering if I was locked out as this started after a good feeding that should have stopped it. Any suggestions on what to do? I do now have 4 kinds of Guano and one has huge P numbers. Or, just use up my last FF Tiger Bloom. Any suggestions?

Still, the buds look pretty nice for being in small pots and only 35 days from flip. Here is a side bud on the White Widow X Big Bud.

And Finally a nice top on the Lemon Kush

I can't wait for the light to show up. Mars stuff is always packed nicely and it will be fun to do an unboxing. I will take blurry pics!

Good news, fabric pots are holding together, ya dun good seamstress!

wwXbb looks nice n frosty too:drool:

Question time!
Read alot about adding sand to soil, and/or adding to top layer to help fend off pests.
I imagine the glacial silt we stand on would have a rather nice impact (not sure in which way).. Ever experimented?

I haven't really. Back when I grew in Colorado there was a large portion of sand to the natural soils we used. We also didn't add near as much perlite as I do now. The sand likely helped things drain better.

For topping, I like large rock, clay balls, smooth stones etc. Helps when a clumsy me waters by preventing as much soil erosion. I don't think I would add silt though, that stuff is insanely fine. Gets like mud when wet vs sand.

:thanks:

LOL!! Don't worry Bob. It takes a real man to haul out the needle and thread and get down with the sewing.

The top dressing, i was considering specifically to keep gnats from laying eggs. While it does muddy up more then sand, i figured it could still dry out faster then 2in of FF. No longer have a gnat problem but was still curious. Also thought maybe itd add some good rock minerals to the soil.

Thanks ;)

Your plants are looking good bud. The deficiency you have there looks similar to mine. I gave them plenty of water last night with calmag, but this morning they look a little worse. So maybe I have a potassium deficiency as you suggest and not a calcium deficiency as I thought.

Will feed them again tonight, and bump up the bloom portion a little to see if they respond well.

EDIT: I just had a look again at the deficiency chart and i definitely have a calcium deficiency. Maybe I'm being a little impatient.

I am going to bump up the bloom I think and then learn to make teas with my guano selection for the future. Time to make my girls refreshments!

I haven't had bug issues yet here and always have thanked the dryness for that. I am going to put some pea gravel in mine today and see how it works. I have a few yards of it in a big snowy pile outside.
