Dos-Si-Dos & Wedding Cake ala Dope Seeds

As far as taste yes. Surprising to me. It's lovely tasting!
I'm a bit jealous of your taste buds. Personally, I have a difficult time tasting anything but "weed" when I smoke. I can smell difference in varieties, but everything tastes about the same to me.

I'm doing a stop the rain dance for you now! :passitleft:
Lmao. Do it least 5 mins . Cause dam I'm sick of rain now. . used not care. But tent getting wet in bottom side. And that's why I'm buying another one so I can put it on pallets and I don't have to worry about that ever again. Lmao. And chilsel out the concrete and out that patch sht in. Got alot to do next week.

I'm like you with most things. Like fine booze and cigars tea coffee. I know I like it or not. Weed is different for some unknown reason. The components jump out and party in my mouth.

You have a good and varied perspective to talk about. It's interesting to see you've combined so many things and find goodness in them in various ways. More evidence that a plant doesn't really care where it's nutes come from? Well grown is well grown maybe? With slight differences. I think I have a new perspective on this now.
Thanks Otter, so do you. I'd say not so much my growing but more the first thing you said, that the plant doesn't really care where it's nutes come from. I'm coming to really believe that. That said, it is where the nutes come from and in what medium that seems to have the most impact on taste. I'm almost feeling microbes are microbes and organic grows are going to vary by taste depending on what else is in the mix besides the microbes, right? Whereas with chem systems like FF, you're going to get a Fox Farms taste, a Blue Planet taste, a Prescription Blend taste, no? I'm way curious about that last one. The Apple Blossom is PB, and they've been so good I can't help but think they're going to taste exceptional as well. Can't wait to see if there's a discernible difference.

And that's what I'm counting on with my KNF and Jadam concoctions. They're organic but the nutrients come out readily plant available. Organic growers mostly tell me that the microbes are an important part of the delivery process otherwise I'm just "force feeding" my plants like I would with a Chem grow.

I don't know, but it seems to me that the basic elements are just that, basic. They all are the same thing at the very core, and as long as something's not overdone so it locks out other things, the plants should be mostly happy and able to produce a decent yield.

And what about coco and hydro in that regard? Damn there's a lot to learn. In those cases we have no medium, or a neutral medium at least. So it might stand to reason that the Fox Farms taste or PB taste or whatever would stand out more in those type grows, no? Having just done coco with Fox Farms (the entire line by the book every time including Sledgehammer flushes when they said to, ie, I think I did the system correctly), I don't yet have too much of a handle on taste cuz it's curing, but it sure is frostier than my soil bud has been, and pending the cure I may argue stinkier too. Strains maybe, but constant feeding start to finish more likely is my guess.

I have some @Prescription Blend coming and can't wait to give it a run through my BIL's grow! Let's get a real diverse taste of this. I have a feeling you're right about the surrounding medium too.

Hey SO,

Was there anything different in your drying & curing that was different?

Lends credence to the science that says the plant can't tell what the source is for that ion of nutrient element. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I'll 2nd that. My buds, while hydroponic have amazing tastes, I've had a few "organic " growers taste my buds and comment how much better of a taste it has then their own (not counting when I was doing a sterile grow, there was definitely a difference in taste on that one, that was lacking).

Remo also has great products that feed the rhizosphere, and that I think is what helps make the difference. You guys know more on the subject than I, but to me that combined with a good dry and cure is what makes the taste difference.

Good question Rex! No, I brought the plant home and dried her myself. It was however an exceptionally good and long dry. That makes a difference.

Yeah, there's a slew (7bottles) of things going in so there should be everything needed. I think Mr Remo did his homework developing this.

Highya SO,

Barely above freezing today. Cloudy with flurries expected. Can't put ladies in the garden yet! If I get down that way, I'll give a holler. We're in the Rockland area.

My take on the nutrient conversation - As long asa the microbes are available in sufficient supply, I think the plant will take up whatever nutes are available that it needs. I still like my Mobsta with all organic nutrients. And I will not change this even if something proves better. Reason: It's so easy for me, and all natural processes. Can't see any downside, other than the branches getting too fat! Btw, mine has a distinct flavor, and a glorious smell on inhale and exhale! Oh, I used scissors to cut the bud into little pieces (instead of pulling them apart by hand). Gave me a much better smoking experience, and a much better high! I used to use a grinder, but was always too gummy lately! Words for thought! Happy Smokin'

Nice Bode. I'm a scissor guy too, I much prefer it to the grinder. Good to know yours also has a specific taste. It's interesting the differences the mediums and what not make, as well as the dry/cure, All these things are important and seem to make a difference in the end taste. Great discussion.

Not yet hehe. We made it above today too. I can see some pavement in the driveway again.

I can't see the downside either Bode. I have no desire to change my grow that way. The more ancient the direction my grow goes so far, the better it's gotten.

Interesting! You think breaking up a bud with fingers, scissors, and a grinder may have different toking qualities? I've heard hash makers have a preference for the least banged around bubble hash vs tons of ice and whooshing aggressively breaking all the trichome heads. Go figure. :passitleft: Peyote Forum today. It may be helping with migraines. I need more testing.

AWAY STANKBERRY TEAM UPDATE

Hanging out at the away grow this morning. They're all getting nice and slowly dry. My BIL is getting a really nice slow dry on these babies! I'd say by feeling a few buds that they're a few days to go, or a week. That'll make for about a two week dry. He's rocking the dry!
Have a great day!
Heya brother Otter. You BIL’s things also looking spectacular! Sucha juicy colas hanging in there.

Do we have something new already planned? :hippy:

You and Bode huh? That's it I'll give it a go one day then!
