DocBud's Next Medical Grow

I like 'em! But, I'm not sure if they're that much better than regular pots with wicks. One thing I can tell you for sure, if you use one of these fabric pots make sure your medium drains well, because otherwise all the water leaks through the walls of the pot.

They work fine, however....just not a quantum leap.

Yeah, I was wondering about those. They claim to "airprune" the roots to promote more root growth with no "spiraling", or problems with rootbound plants. They claim to increase yield, etc. etc.... Just thought I'd get your input after seeing them in your pics. Thanks again.

Every product in the stoner-hobby grower market claims to increase yield....I figure i should be getting at least 1/2 pound per plant by now....

The roots looked really nice the last grow, with the fabric pots. But then, the roots also looked nice in the other pots. Go figure!

I think they're a good product, but like I said, not a quantum leap from regular pots.

Hey doc wondering if you could help me out here. My one plant is drooping fairly bad and I'm freaking. My other plant is doing great. I moved the light even further up and put another fan in with them. Soil temp is 78. I don't know what else to do. The leaves aren't bleaching or anything. I would greatly appreciate your opinion.

You got some pics?

What kind of soil?
How often do you water?
What do you feed them?
What are your day/night temps?

She is a nine day old sprout. 24" below a 150w hps.

Hey Doc, I'm considering the PPP, and was wondering if you've grown that strain before??? I've been reading lots of reviews on it, but have to take "grower error" into consideration as well. Mostly great reviews though. Seeds aren't overpriced either, which I really like. Was thinking of a SOG in a 6x12 room with two 1000 HPS's, and going 12/12 from seed in hempy's. Any thoughts on how many plants I can fit in there?
Only $2.64 per regular seed @ Castle!!!

I have not grown it before, but a friend did and kept a mother plant. I got these cuts from him.

I really liked the effect I got from his product, and hope to improve on it due to the organic soil methods I'm using. My buddy grew it in hempy.

I think, if you went 12/12 you could easily get 20 plants under 2 lights.....easily.

Hey Doc, I'm thinking of using "hawaiin punch" bottles (3.7L)-Hempy, and putting 1 plant PSF in my space. Do you think if I went 12/12 from seed they would avoid getting rootbound? What would be a good strain for the one/main cola effect? Thanks a million. You are helping so many people through this forum. It's truly amazing watching your grows. THX! And sorry if my questions are dumb.

I think those would be just fine. Are they clear? If so, you might want to find a way to keep light off the roots, wrap 'em in foil, tape, etc. You can grow huge plants in hempy, but you might find yourself watering every day.

What would be a good strain.....hmmmm......that's a tough one. So far, everything I've started on 12/12 has grown one big cola.

Skunk
Super Lemon Haze
Blue Cheese
Bubba Kush
Violator Kush (this one branched just a little bit, but still great for SOG.
Lucky Queen

I don't this for sure.....but I suspect the higher yielding plants do best on 12/12. Then again, plants that grow on the equator are always on 12/12....so choose your strain accordingly!

You'll find it's pretty easy to sex them....start looking at about day 21. Just toss the boys out back.

I started 9 Blue Dreams on 12/12 this grow.....I'll get some pics of them. Already tossed two males.

Pictures and Updates:

I'm brewing up a compost/guano tea for the next feeding. The plants are all healthy, buds are forming, there's a bit of frosting starting to come out....everyone's happy!

The tea is comprised of Bu's Blend biodynamic compost, molasses, Peruvian Seabird guano (10-10-2) and some OMRI listed source of potassium that I added in to balance out the NPK. I'm mainly going for the microbial aspects of the tea, but adding a bit of organic matter won't hurt anything.

I've supercropped most of the Querkle and some of the 3D....so damn easy! LST is far too labor intensive for me....if you see a tall spot in the canopy, just bend the branch over till it crumples.....viola! Canopy is now even.

In a few hours, the leaves are again oriented to the light.

Here are some pics, in no particular order.

Hey Doc, Great pics of your plants. Gettin' sugary! Sorry, but I tried to PM you but I don't have enough posts. I wanted to run this by you, and everyone, and see what kind of advice I got.
I want to run a series of 4'x4' enclosed boxes. The first would be my "spring" box with 32 solo hempy cups with a 250W HPS just to get things up and running. Then I would put them into the "late Spring/early Summer" box with a 400W HPS until they are sexed. Then I would transplant 16 females into their final pot (hawaiin punch 3.7L hempy Jugs), and move them into the third box, the "Mid-Summer" box, for bud development and growth, with a 600W HPS. Then after the buds are fully developed and trichomes start to get cloudy, I would move them into the "Autumn" box with a 400W HPS, until harvest! Plus, they all wouldn't have to be on the same timer!
It would kinda simulate the seasons, and I could keep a steady rotation of plants going through their seasons of change. Any observations, opinions would be great. Thanks everyone, and great job Doc, as usual.

I think it sounds great! The only issue could be the extra transplant. You might be able to get away with sexing them in the solo cups....I did/do it. Oh.....you didn't say you were going to go 12/12. If you're going to veg a bit, your plan sounds great.
