DocBud - New Room - Super Soil - Etc

Re: DocBud - New Room - Super Soil - Etc.

Those look awesome, can't wait to see what the new ones do. Have you used the Bushmaster yet, can't remember?

Re: DocBud - New Room - Super Soil - Etc.

Love it doc love it
simplicity at its best!

Re: DocBud - New Room - Super Soil - Etc.

If there is such a thing as a grower devotee, I am one. DocBud's disciple. I want to do organic, hand mixed soil, simple feedings and controlling environment. Why make it harder than it has to be?

Simple is best.....the quest for me is how to grow Cannabis Cup weed simply.

The answer is pretty simple, but the ingredients might take a while to dial in:

1.)environment. Maximize it for the strain you're growing. Years of experience required here....try to "steal" someone else's experience to shorten learning curve.

2.)Soil mix. What to add? How much? Again.....years and years of experience are required. "Steal" from others whenever possible.

What has helped me most is a strong background in science, including 2 Semesters of botany, critical thinking and a good network of growers to learn from.

If there is, you can count me as one! I've admired Doc's growing style ever since I first came across one of his journals, and have been following ever since.:thumb:

That's precisely why I'm here at 420magazine, to tap into this great pool of experience to shorten my learning curve.

I may not have a background in science or botany, but with the great members on this site, like you Doc, and their willingness to share their knowledge with us, I've been able to grow high quality buds that are way beyond my level of experience...and I'm only going to get better as I learn more!:thankyou:

Re: DocBud....New Room, Super Soil, etc.

They are about 1 week above ground, on 12.12 right from the start.

Thanks bro! I always learn a lot on each grow too. This will be my first run with Subcool's Super Soil.

ou are gonna love the supersoil...it makes things really easy. Just make some guano and worm casting teas. I like to do 3 teas per flower. Earthworm castings (fresh), earthjuice catalyst, Mollasas, Kelp meal and high P bat guano (happyfrog). start at 2.5 weeks flower then one tea each week and a half.

:bravo: :nicethread: I love supersoil!!

Nice! That sounds like a good recipe.

I've made different types of teas....usually a combo of compost and guano. I've used worm tea too....always add molasses.

I've not used kelp in a tea, but I've got some maxicrop......

We'll have to wait about 2 weeks before any of that happens.

Re: DocBud - New Room - Super Soil - Etc.

Oh do try the kelp meal along with earthjuice catalyst. Really stacks the growth up. It works really really good. I use earthjuice about 1 tblspoon per gallon. Kelp meal 2 heaping tablespoons in a 5 gallon tea. I also do 3 or 4 big heaping of the guano then I add some blackstrapp about 2 teaspoons per 5 gallon tea....then when its 15 hours in brewin....when the foaming starts I add some jurrasic acid (humic acid). Let that sucker aerate with a airstone that has a good air pump for 30 hours and you will have a very alive very foamy tea. I get my worm castings straight from the worm farm where the farmer feeds his worms spoiled produce. I get so much life in his castings. Then they multiply in the tea then drench that rich supersoil and they get to work in your roots.....super flowers result. Ive only been doing it for a year and I am sold sold sold. No PPM no stressing on PH no wondering did I overfeed....just uber dank frippin weed......

Happy grow....Im subbed for it.

Re: DocBud - New Room - Super Soil - Etc.

Dilute my teas....sometimes if I need it to stretch to more plants but not usually. One thing you really have to be careful of is feeding while useing supersoil. I would never pour chemical nutes over supersoil. I really spend alot of time thinking about growing my roots. When the plants are young I really let the soil dry out...almost to the point of drooping leaves. If you pay attention you can catch the plants just before they dry out completly. Doing this will help grow the roots because the plant is sending the roots arounf the pot looking for moisture...hence the growing of roots. I sometimes use a few drops of bcuzz root stimulator if I feel they need it. Again...be careful as this stuff is not a nutrient but it will cause your leaves to become almost black with nitrogen...and with all that fast acting bloodmeal in the supersoil they can become stunted from it. Especially if you veg with weak lights. Metal halide 400 watter is great for vegging....but I use t-5 and have to be careful because the lights are not that strong and the plants can get locked up with nitrogen. I dont use hygrozyme or superthrive either anymore.......................Soooo...I feed almost nothing at all durring vegging. Moveing the plants to flowering room I wait 2 weeks till I see the plant almost done stretching and till I have dime to nickel size button buds as I call them. At this time I water with 1/4 teaspoon bcuzz organic bloom stimulent...just look at the leaves where the serated edges are...you will see em...you can tell...mucho mucho pistols will push out the next 2 days...while I have been preparing my tea...Hit them with the tea useing the lightest dose of earthjuice catalyst in this first tea...Use no bcuzz. Fresh fresh worm castings..from the farm complete with springtail bugs and centipedes and even a few red wigglers in the mix. The stuff I get is harvested the same week from huge worm bins. Man these castings have so much microlife in them. Then 2 cups into a painters strainer bag along with 2 tablespoons kelp meal and one tea happyfrog bat guano. I also put in 1 or 2 teas of blackstrapp mollasas and a small amount of humic acid. Let this brew for 30 hours till its frothy and use right away. After I water in my tea the next watering will just be straight water and pretty light watering at that. repeat the tea in 2 weeks but by then your buds will be huge useing this method and the plants metabolism will be just rockin full steam saying someone polinate my pistols..PLEASE..NOW...so you make the tea with more earthjuice catalyst and add budswell guano or I have been known to add fox farms big bud ...the one that says natural and organic on the label. Its made from guanos of sea bird and bat as well as worm castings and such. With your plants packing on the weight they will deplete the supersoil and need fed something organic so you dont kill off the microlife in the soil. Oh yea.....always let your tap water sit in a open bucket for 2 days before useing to remove the chlorine. You all probibly knew this already.

Ok...now I feel like I have hijacked your thread. Just trying to help your supersoil grow man. I love subcools recipe...it has made growing the giggleweed a pleasure instead of a chore. I just love that I dont have to use all those stupid meters and ph testers. I had some succes useing chem nutes but organic just easier and way more better tasteing.

You and I are on the same page. I also let my pots dry out.....concentrate on root systems. I make my teas nearly the same way you do, except I add a bit of compost to some.....not always worm castings.

Stick around, I think you'll like what you see!

Okay, I have enough soil sitting around now that I won't start on mixing up Subcool's stuff (yet), but I will make the most of what I have in house now. It suggests that I can make a tea with the Dr. Earth's stuff I got; figured maybe next go round, a couple of waterings with that and some compost as a tea?

Here are a couple pics....

The Jacks in the drying room, a couple bud shots, and a lousy photo trying to show the degree of resin formation on these buds. Pretty damn good!

[drool worthy shots of JH Bud Porn]

And this was just OC+, FFOF, some molasses, sucanat and Snow Storm?

:bravo::bravo::high-five:
