Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I think you are right as far as them being small, but also small business or not, they should make sure to keep customers happy regarding questions about their products and keeping up with responses. I like their products for the most part, and the results I am getting in regards to brix numbers are off the chart (16-24 brix while my plants are still in veg!) but it does make me less willing to do future business with a company that doesn't cater to their customers questions and needs.

I originally called them, even before my order to ask questions and nobody ever responded to voicemails or email...If it wasn't for 420 magazine and our members who have vouched for the products quality, I wouldn't have ordered because being that I have worked for tons of companies in sales and customer support in the past, this is the wrong way to encourage new business... OH well, their products still rock and the world isn't perfect :) and no 3rd arms or extra eyebrows growing yet so I guess were good :) lol, Let me know if you hear anything back from them tenderchicken. I have to say their products are really awesome and my plants so far look the healthiest they have ever been :)

I don't know how else to put this.

They don't/can't/won't talk to dope growers. They work with farmers! They don't know how to talk to you and you don't know how to talk to them.

They aren't trying to get your business. They are afraid of your business. People from this very website have called them and made asses of themselves. They aren't happy about that and don't need it, legally speaking.

The more you guys trash talk them here, the less available their products will be!

I am re-branding, re-formulating them as we speak. I'll be able to advise folks WHO GROW LEGALLY how to use the products, etc. You'll be able to purchase them from me for the same price you could get them from them.

You'll be able to order soil test through me and I'll be able to advise based on the reports. All of this will be official and professional. Just be patient for a few more weeks.

But there are a couple people here who have called and demanded broadcasts based on posts I've made in the past and who have said really stupid stuff. Idiot stuff.

Again, people who farm for a living don't require directions about how many mils of this to water a handful of plants! Professionals understand what the products do without labels and directions.

This whole affair highlights one of the weaknesses of current MJ growers: We're friggin ignorant! We don't even know the vocabulary, let alone how to use stuff.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

I assure you there is nothing the least bit "banned" or synthetic in PGR!

The reason many of you aren't getting a response is because they are freaked out because they are in a non-legal state and people are calling them/writing them saying all kinds of stuff. One guy even went so far as to say, "Can I get the Doc Bud amendment? He grows dank."

I'll find out exactly what's in it and get back to you if I can, but I'm 100% sure it's safe in every way.

Thanks Doc, I would really appreciate any info on their ingredients. I had a feeling that it might be due to the influx of MJ questions, however I never mentioned anything regarding MJ to them, just wanted to know the ingredients :) I am also pretty certain that nothing harmful or banned is in the product since their main focus is Agriculture, but just wanted to make sure :)

Wow, the Docbud amendment...LOL thats awesome!!! That had to feel good knowing that your name is now becoming branded across the community!!

Anyhow I appreciate you looking into it for me :) love the products so far!

Hello Amigos,
I live in the frozen tundra of Canada, near Toronto, just got off my Ski doo from a trip into town for some seal oil to light the home.
Anyway let me get to the point, is there anything comparable to Hi Brix system that can be bought or assembled where I live ?
I am not trying to cut into Doc's products or cost him sales, it can be a hassle ordering formulas and minerals.
I gotta get busy and feed the huskys they be a Howling.
Have a good 1, Bulldog

I definitely understand your point on this and definitely glad to hear you are bridging the gap between the agricultural market and the MMJ growers market..This is great news because their products are awesome....and they need someone like you to get the two worlds to shake hands and work together :)

It sucks that people have no common sense when calling and asking about their products.

I though am not one of them... My conversation was very simple..." do you have the ingredients list or MSDS regarding your product PGR? "I understand that the use of certain growth regulators are prohibited in California for agricultural production and I wanted to be certain what I am spraying meets these guidelines".... Their response, " I do not know, but I will have someone contact you with a list of ingredients", My response was ok "here is my email and my phone number, I look forward to your response. Thank you and have a great day"

So I understand that they may not answer questions relating to "how do I use" or will this be good for my cannabis crops...but a general question regarding something that should be publicly available shouldn't be deemed a question relating to cannabis.. So definitely not trash talking on the company, but their lack of response at all IMO is a neglect to interested consumers. Under OSHA and other regulations, MSDS should be publicly available per request...

Doc,
I had my soil tested at ag labs. I didn't mean to trash talk anybody, was just relaying my experience. Apologize if it came off bitchy. Not frustrated at all in any way with them, they all seem like great people and they have some killer products. I guess I thought they were old fashioned (there's nothing wrong with old-fashioned in my book) just because they seem to prefer the phone , but from what you're saying, and from a legal standpoint, that makes good sense.

It's understandable that they're freaked about the idiots calling them up asking to grow bud. Google 'high brix' and your thread is in the top three search results.

When I sent in my sample to AG labs, I explained I was growing a home garden, even talked to one of them on the phone about and had no problems. Been reading Jon Frank's email course on home gardening, so I know they do more than just work with farmers, however small that market may be. That's the main reason I sent my soil samples in, to grow vegetables and fruit trees. Would just be nice to know what's in the products they're selling, that's all. If you know the ingredients, you can make intelligent decisions about how to apply them in your situation.

That's great news about you becoming a distributor. Will you be setting up a website etc, or will you be keeping it private?

Doc, Q for ya...thoughts on mulch? Would like something to help protect the root zone.

Yep. Nothing wrong with mulching. But remember, indoors/greenhouse we dictate the weather. Nothing ever dries out unless we screw up. Even so, a good mulch might do wonders. I think pumice or perhaps volcanic rock makes a good mulch, mixed with coarse bark of some sort perhaps? I've not tried mulching yet so I'm only speculating.

From their website regarding PGR. Emphasis mine:

By the 1950’s plant physiologists knew that plant growth and development were controlled by plant growth regulators (or hormones) endogenously produced by the plant itself. Research in seaweed dovetailed this discovery by isolating various plant growth regulators (PGR’s) from seaweed. Among these are auxins, cytokinins, and gibberellins. By applying seaweed extracts plant growth and development could be significantly enhanced. It was not long before seaweed came to epitomize a new class of plant nutrients: biostimulants. Here is one definition of a biostimulant: an organic material, that when applied in small quantities enhances plant growth and development beyond what can be attributed to the application of traditional nutrients.

The product is 100% natural. There is no paclo, or anything remotely resembling that in their products. These are hormones that naturally occur in kelp.

I'll have an ecommerce site, but I'm not going to advertise right away, other than what I'm doing right now. I can't keep up with it right now and am making some changes, etc.

The products do have labels that list what's in them.

When they say "liquid fish" they mean just that, a fish hydrolysate. When they say Chilean Nitrate, they mean precisely that. Those are the ingredients of one of their products. They are simple products!

I use a layer of hydroton on my flowering plants . Really helps stop top soil disruption when watering, and the roots grow right up to and on the soil under the hydroton.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

That's great to hear.

I'm as passionate about growing Cannabis as a person can be. I love it, love growing it, processing it, smoking, eating, all of it. I've pretty much dedicated my life to pursuing excellence in this field. I can't help it!

So, at this point in time, it's clear to me that following along the same general pathway as Dr. Carey Reams, William Albrecht and others will result in uniquely excellent produce. Their work in understanding the importance of minerals and living, active biology in the soil is truly ground breaking and it can be stated as fact that plants grown in this manner have higher nutrient density than anything else out there, other than soils with similar mineral content, etc. That's just how it works.

I am trying to introduce this type of growing approach to our favorite plants, pure and simple. I will never us synthetic chemical hormones, neither will I use GMO fed animal waste. I will strive to be organic in every way possible and 100% natural when politics makes the "organic" label illegal.

Those of us who have grown and harvest plants that had that magic, waxy, electric feel to them understand why we do this. Others are about to find out!

Yep I love my HB weed. I can't thank you enough for showing me the path :high-five:

I honestly share your passion as a lot of growers here do and I also thank you for showing us the path to the best possible crops that we can produce at this time :) I honestly can't think of any one thing that I have been more interested in that cannabis, well maybe my past music career, but other than that notta :) I even remember way back in HS we had government class where we had to simulate the passing of bills and guess what mine was....Yep, legalization of MMJ :) I definitely take a special pride in my buds, knowing they are natural, high brix and clean washed buds and feel sad for those who haven't experienced the treat. I've been getting nothing but very very good comments and reviews of my last harvest, definitely something special and getting better each time.. I can't wait to try them this round with my 2nd round soil, with the tandj and the "labs" sprays!! Working my way up to your kit..just want to explore the path that you took to notice the difference in each stage of my growing trials :)

Anyhow I really appreciate your answer to my question about the PGR and I definitely trust your guidance since you haven't ever lead me wrong :) Sorry if I came off a tad bit snippy, I had a bad morning today well not a bad morning but just was in a bad mood, so I hope it didn't project :) anyhow I very much appreciate all of what you do for us here at 420 Mag.

All good my friend. And your passion comes through loud and clear, along with several others of us.

BTW, PGR is not recommended for the "backyard" program. It's one of the industrial sprays, sold through the fertilizer brokerage. That's why it was difficult for you to get info. But it's simple: it's made from kelp extract and trace minerals. Nothing more. All natural, and VERY strong!

If I were using the T and J soil, the only spray I'd use would be Bloomit, and I'd only use that in early bloom
