Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Wow!!! That’s some serious bling on those buds! Well done Yeti!

Thank you DL! :)

Frosty frost on that frost :passitleft:

In House is dropping some serious fire ;) if that guy sold 3-packs I would buy a whole lot more of his seeds...... :)

All sorts of frost! They are putting out awesome gear. I wish they had not decided to up their prices so much once they gained more of a following. An option for 3 packs would be awesome. The best way to do it is find someone to split packs with. Their reg seeds are not terribly priced but their fem seeds are up there now! I wish I had grabbed their Platinum Punch when I grabbed these.

Splitting packs is way to go, or maybe $150 5packs(damn that still sounds expensive)

I'm going to get their nitro platinum when it comes out. It should be some very nice girls

Yeah $150 5 packs is steep! Just like the 300 10 packs. I am just glad I jumped on the Slurry when I did. It wasnt even 2 weeks after and they upped the price to 200. It kinda bugs me that the less popular punch crosses are still 150. The Black Cherry Punch, the dreamweaver and the lemon lime punch are all still 150. WTF

It seems like every new drop get more and more expensive. I do love the Black Cherry Punch and I think it was worth the $150 a pack but I can't justify anything at $250-$300 a pack.

Hate interrupting here.....

When do you all start(After germiniation and on clones) using the Brix spray on your plants and how far into flower do you run it? I am sure each will have a variation just looking to get some base line to work from, from experienced users.

I do agree some seeds seem really stupid expensive, yet I do understand the amount of time they have into getting the stability into the cross'es.

Yeah before the Slurricane I had not even spent over $100 on a pack. I have a couple of times now but it is not something I like to do. I would not mind grabbing some BCP if I had the money to but I dont and wont for a while. It is all good though because my Slurry is real nice and I have a couple of other punch crosses to work though as well. I got a pack of Donkey Punch from Cabin Fever Seed Breeders for naming the strain! Its Purple Punch crossed to an Animal Mints Bx1 male. It should be pretty epic. I also ended up with Orangeade from Symbiotic which is Tangie crossed to their PP 2.0 male and I have a couple of Wedding Crasher seeds(wedding cake x PP2.0 male) that a friend hooked me up with :) I have two of the DP (huhhuh DP) and 2 Orangeade up above soil right now!

After 5 sets of true leaves you can use brix spray. Just make sure on seedlings they have at least 5 bladed leaves. And I see some people use brix all the way up to harvest they just stop a couple of days before they pull.

Have you looked at Dank Genetics? They just dropped a bunch of new punch and cookie crosses, they're $80-$100 for 7 fem seeds ;)

I was lucky enough to get a 10 pack of Crystal Cookies for $55 at a xmas sale a bit over a year ago, just payed $200 for a 10 pack of Forbidden Jelly....

I havent looked at them. I have been trying to avoid buying any more seeds :laughtwo: I have way more than I can run but have been trying to work through them. The Forbidden Jelly looks really nice. I want a pack of their JellySickle. It is JellyBreath x Punch and is named after a song from one of my favorite artists so its appeal is twofold for me.

Couple of things.

1. I really dig that vial case for seed storage a few pages back. Gazoo, please send me a link if you could?

2. I'm in almost same boast as Dopeylemontree. I've been on the latest formulas for 3 runs and my last run that went into jars last week got no WA10x (I don't have snake oil), and I also sprayed brix every 14 days. They finished strongly.

3. Re: seeds and seed prices. I get it's a business, but it almost makes me ill to see the profiteering mentality being used regarding seeds. This is the same reason I started growing. Quality control, cost savings and availability. So now I make my own seeds, fems and regs. I've done it on a few keeper strains and now I have literally hundreds (if not thousands) of high brix seeds in addition to what I've collected along the way. (see number 1 above ^)

I need to grab a few pics...

Sure thing, PM with link on the way in a few minutes :)

The seed thing, there must be a DEMAND or the prices would not
be going up. I suspect its a bubble that will burst soon, I just can't
see that kind of demand continuing. REALLY how many seeds do you
normally get off a plant, they must be artificially causing low count releases.

:thumb:I think you hit it on the head, a seed bubble, much like the Dutch tulip bulb bubble of the 1600's.the rarest bulb traded for as much as six times a average persons annual salary. Then it popped.:Namaste:

Ahh this is great, I like the seed talk as I'm now after a few years getting to know the breeders and such. I did read that prices very for a few reasons. Obviously low prices come from newbies wanting to make a name for themselves and sales. Me personally I don't think a few hundred is to much to ask when you get what you pay for. And if what you grow pays for itself 100 tines over then it's even better. but if you have an addiction to seed you may never pop then I can see why you'd be a little hesitant, if only to add to your collection. It's like art though, your gonna pay or your not. It's easier to except that you can't change it and move on or complain until you move on, either way you move on. Then another reason for the extremely high prices is to detour the newbie growers from purchasing connoisseur/ craft cannabis seeds and messing around with more crosses and such. I guess these breeders want/ expect only master growers to take on their strains. Me personally, I don't purchase what I can't grow, so a few bills spent is ok by me.

I am not sure if I can understand the idea of breeders not wanting anyone to
mess with there " connoisseur/ craft cannabis seeds" they are not theirs anymore
once sold, Kinda like saying I want this much more for my fully restored muscle car
because I don't want you to paint it or change it in anyway ?

But in the end I am sure this will all level out and like has been said
if you don't like the price don't buy.

That's what I got out of aficionado when I read something by them a few days ago. Now this is me paraphrasing my own interpretation. But it pretty much said something about breeding for master growers and yada yada.

Aficionado does state this. They are ridiculous though. Something like $3-800 per ten regular seeds. I am not sure why In House is upping their prices. Most breeders want around $100 per ten regs. Some less, some more. In houses regs are 100 or less. Their fems are what is getting pricey! They have done some limited releases where they only put out 50 packs. Is it because they did not get what they wanted for seeds out of the process? Do they do it to artificially make them more valuable? I cant say. I know some strains are hard to reverse and when you do you do not always get a lot of pollen.

Gov it is awesome you are breeding your own gear. I would like to but I try to stay within my limit and between everything I have going on I just have no room in my plant count to keep a male or reverse a female and I have no where to grow them separately.

Well looks like the ads are up and running :):thumb:

In the world of exclusive anything that caters to less than 1% of the market, this is basically a way of branding your wares, limited editions is what the ''high'' society like and prices only matter if something is too cheap.

We can hope that as cannabis becomes more and more socially accepted, we can have worldwide graduation system (like wine) and no breeder is able to pass off his strain as ''Grand Cru'' unless it has been voted such by a commitee, then it's gonna be hard to wrap a cloak of mystery and exclusivity around something mediocre, let alone getting away with charging ridicouless prices ;)
