:thanks:

I am pretty sure it is probably Crocket Family Farms Tangie

Please tell me more! My helper picked it up at the last C-cup. I'm pretty sure it was called Tangerine, but it comes out heavy on the sativa side with my lighting and High Brix soil, which tends to sativa-fy everything anyways.

It's bright, happy, shiney weed. Probably the last thing you'd want to smoke if you had mosquito bites or a patch of poison oak, or if you were at a 3 hour long cop award ceremony. You need to vent energy with this stuff. I smoked some earlier and I'm paying chess, posting here and smoking a J at the same time.....

Tangie is basically Skunk #1 renamed... nothing new under the sun :)

I have never grown it but it is one of the most popular strains from the last couple of years. So you getting it from a cup makes a lot of sense. Here is their description:

Tangie has been on the farm for over a decade, it's lineage dates back to the mid 90's. Easily one of the most fragrant flowers we have come across. Tastes and smells like the fruit!! Tangie has won over twenty awards in two years. Very reliable indoors and out. Expect big yields outdoors in October, and indoor 9-10 weeks.

Crockett Family Farms Tangie Strain Review

The Tangie strain took first place for Seed Company Sativa at the 2013 HIGHTIMES Cannabis Cup held in Amsterdam. The Tangie strain is one the most highly sought after strains in the cannabis community right now. It was originally created as a salute to the beloved Tangerine Dream strain that rose to popularity in the mid 1990’sBred by Reserva Privada and the DNA Army, the Tangie strain of cannabis is a Sativa-dominant hybrid. It was the result of crossing California Orange with a hybrid of the Skunk #1 strain and was created as early 1995. However, the team at DNA Genetics kept the Tangie behind closed doors for a number of years before a cultivator named Crockett presented them with a phenotype that blew them away. The strain grows tall and typically yields 450-550 grams per square meter. As such, DNA suggests that the Tangie cannabis strain be grown outdoors. The resulting flowers have become quite the fan favorite, winning every competition in which it has been entered. Most recently, the Tangie strain took first place for Seed Company Sativa at the 2013 Cannabis Cup. The Tangie strain is best known for its characteristic terpene profile. Like the name suggests, California Orange in its genetics gives the Tangie an obvious citrus smell and taste. With that said, this strain has a citrus taste unlike any other that you can imagine if you haven’t tried it for yourself. It is best described as a cheesy citrus taste with a hint of diesel. The effects of the Tangie are best described as clear-headed and uplifting. 30 minutes after medicating with this strain, I found myself to be much more creative and stress free. Further, it tends to give me a great deal of energy. In fact, I might liken the effects to the Green Crack strain, but with slightly more sedation in the body. Consider this strain if you suffer from anxiety, depression, chronic stress, migraines, or a lack of appetite. It is particularly good option for those who medicate in the morning.

Crockett Family Farms has a nice strain selection and I have really considered running their sour tangie as I am a huge fan of the East Coast Sour Diesel that they mated the Tangie with.

Re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Which is Skunk #1 again :) It's basically sativa dominant pheno that was inbred into a "line" in the early 80s and then sold and propagated both in NorCal and Europe, but it's the same Sam's stock.

I tried to find the lineage of the cali-o before I posted my response and every source I found did not list the strain origins as anything other than california orange. It sounded similar to skunk 1 for the most part other than the citrus smell. Most skunk one descriptions I have read play up the dank skunk piss smell. The one I grew was not overly skunky but I would not say there was any citrus in it.

So what's the best skunk out there? I think Dynasty and professor P have an old Florida skunk they breed to.

I remember the good skunks we used to get in high school. Serious straight up hardcore skunk smell. You'd think a real skunk just sprayed nearby. Anything like that out there today? It'd be fun to grow that and smoke it again.

I am not sure who holds the best. I have not seen skunk 1 in Dynasty's work but I may have missed it. Exodus Cheese is supposed to be a skunk off shoot. It was supposed to have been a particular pheno that showed more cheese than skunk. I am sure you can look around and find a decent breeder that holds it. I forget whos Skunk 1 I ran but it was meh at best. The cheese crosses I have grown have been decent. If you want something that smells amazing try Big Buddahs Chiesel. I had some that a friend was selling like 7 years ago and it was some of the loudest weed I have ever seen.

There's no best skunk out there, but many best ones... one for everybody :) Classic sweet skunk is kept by Sensi and The Flying Dutchman and also by Canadian seedbanks like Next Generation. Afghani Skunk or RKS like it used to be called in NorCal has been bred for years by Shanti, so MSN is your best bet :thumb:
