Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Don't stop, I did and they came back. I gave mine one spray so far, getting ready to give another. My plants seem to like the leaf wash. I don't think the spots will go away, it's permanent

Hell no I won't stop :slide: I definitely don't want those damn things back! I was thinking it might be permeant... that really sucks if it is. Thats a lot of surface area on those leaves thats not working properly because of the damage. Oh well, ima ride it out anyway, hope for the best.
I hear that, my ladies seem to really like it as well. But since Ive been spraying all this stuff on them I decided to lay off the compost tea I usually use. I don't want to bog the soil down with excess organic material when they are having a hard enough time. They look completely different than the pic I posted last week. After the spray and rinse they were all over the place, then I staked them up and a few days later they had all their leaves back in their respective places. I do have to say, the tiny buds that they have so far smell amazing... far better than last time I grew this one out. Just hope they dont take to damn long...

You have your mites under control? I bet you do, you obviously have more experience than I do. Did yours ever spin any webs? Mine did not.

Yea, right at harvest last time I found 2 buds that had just started webbing, I cut everything little early. Problem my current grow is clones from last grow, the mite came too lol. I'm mixing leaf wash now, 5 ml per pint of water. Not sure if I should numb it up or not. But this grow is in coco based soil. I just started few in doc's soil. Besides his foliar sprays I'm going to only grow 4 plants, and also do away with tent. These things are ridiculous, just keep coming back, but I treated the whole property this time. Hope you get em under control, they are frustrating.

My plant schedule and work schedule not matching up too good. Just sprayed plants, about 10mins before lights go on. These are on day 38, I think, have to look at my journal(notes). I was lucky and never had mites, then I moved my grow year and half ago. I saw them late in last grow, was out of town working, didn't have time to really check good. Been a battle ever since lol. Here's few pics after I sprayed. Leaf wash smells like peppermint candy, but doesn't taste like it, accidentally sprayed mouth full lol .

Damn man... sorry to hear they keep coming back. Thats what I'm worried about as well, seems a lot of people have a hard time getting rid of these bastards. Only time will tell I suppose, I think I will treat them as though they were still infested. That way if there are any eggs left to hatch, I'll be sure to get em. Thanks man! I hope we both can get them under control or better eradicated.

Yea, last week I got some bayer suspend, and treated whole house. Going to do it again, 2 days after I've been sweeping bugs up from everywhere. That stuff works great for ants and other bugs, hope it works as good for mites. I even took plants out and sprayed tent too. I would have been good if I kept spraying. I didn't see any signs, then month later the Calvary arrived lol

Re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

So only 10 days away from being done with first cook. And anxiously I've already started a new journal. Would I be fine to use alittle soil 5-7 days away from the 30 day mark to put germinated seeds into. My room has stayed at 73.4f consistently through out cook. Please feel free to follow along with my first high brix journal as well

I won't guarantee it, but I've done that with no problems. It's the first couple weeks of the cook that are really dangerous - funky chemical reactions going on. By this time, it should be ok. If you have any raw ProMix left over though, that's great for sprouting seeds into.

Perfect I'll just get some more raw promix thanks

Ok, so I haven't seen any mites since I sprayed with that concoction. I have sprayed Leaf Wash twice and will do so again tomorrow. Feeling good cause I haven't been able to find any sign of them on my ladies... i'm not saying there are none but sure as hell far less if I can't find any. So my big question is... Will the fan leaves recover from this damage? I figured they could heal themselves and most of the spots should disappear. But so far not much is going on... they are just now showing some new pistils, all the ones that were on them turned brown after the kill all spray. What do you guys think? And I can tell it'll be a while till harvest, if it ever comes. They are gonna take a while to recover from all that mess. Just that much longer before I can start DBHBB:icon_roll

The leaf necrosis will never heal, but if caught soon enough the leaf can still photosynthesize and get a good harvest.

You'll have much less trouble in High Brix, but since your room has mites, you'll want to spray every few days in veg and hose 'em down tip to base, top and bottom in veg, tranplant, 3 days after transplanting, and 3 days after that. That keeps the plants mite free for at least the first 30 days and then Brix is up, which keeps any damage from occuring, etc.

They're much more manageable!

Of course Doc! You do so many damn experiments for us it's about time one of us tries something new that may help us all. It seems to work for tomatoes!

Global buckets, are about the same as what your trying, Pvc and 2 buckets nice and easy should work great with HB , my roots kick ass with it now to try with H.B.

Doc and others,
I just finished the second Cat drench and have sprayed twice with Brix & Way Ahead. I'm noticing that the very tips of the leaves are white, like in snow white. There is some also on the serrated edges of a few leaves. It's definitely not the typical orang/yellow/brown that you get from nute burn. I'm wondering if its the Way Ahead lingering on the leaf and eventually drying. Looking under a scope it looks like Ivory Soap flakes. Has anyone experience this?

I'm a little concerned as I had a PM infestation the last grow. Though I haven't seen any of the "milkish" white round spots, typical of PM.

If I take a wet cue tip or rag I can wipe it off. It always seems worse the day after I spray with Way Ahead. WA has some "sugar" it in, right? Wondering if the stickiness it causing it to hang on the end/edge of the leaf and when it dries, leaving the residue. Thx.

can you post a pic or 2?
it sounds like it may be Brix/WA. When I spray foliars, I wait a few minutes, and then give the stems a little shake for the xs..

:)

Yes, Gray , right on brotha! Straight PM is best to start seeds. What i like is, to put them right into 1 gal. pots, pre-moistened with a weak Transplant water:). Soak the whole pot with it. Last time i tried putting our 'cooked' second run soil at the bottom half and straight PM on top. Was cool to see it flourish so much , those first few weeks. Just some thoughts. Learned the hard way what happens when you plant in third run,.....seeds get eaten by the lil critters. What really bothered me was , i did it twice before i caught on...duh!

Hey Mike , gang,...your seeing WayX10 , residue, as you said.:) Try mixing just a bit weaker . Don't soak the leaves either,..just a misting , mostly the undersides of the leaves. This will help with that left over white stuff/sugar. Cheers , and have an awesome night everyone.

Ditto! :thumb:

Very nice design work! I honestly didn't love the last graphics. This has the smart molecule diagram mixed with old-timey color hues - yes!

It screams professional hobbyist supplier.
