Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Looks very nice! I'm super excited to try this out. Does anyone know of threads as informative as this one that are geared towards high brix tomatoes or any other produce? I don't want to be interrupting the cannabis flow. I'm just excited to have a chance at a healthy tasty piece of produce and want to spread the word to my family. This will allow me to have an example to show them and for that, Thank you very much Doc! Thank you to everyone else for convincing me with your examples. To try and express my appreciation for what you all have done would take to many words.
It's a dang shame that cannabis is still illegal in most of the U.S. Because without you, I would still be experimenting my way to high brix foods. I imagine next year I will have found it because of YOU, instead of 10 years from now if at all.
1) what size container for an outdoor tomato plant 30 gal, 60, bigger?
2) and could I pull off an indeterminate in said container?
It will be heirloom for sure. You guys are awesome.

A single raised bed of 4x8 dimensions should yield more tomatoes than you can handle. If you want to pull this off, build a bed, buy some Promix and my kit, add heirlooms and you're good to go.

Looking awesome Doc! Is that tang going to need supports when the buds get bigger or will it be good to go?

So my one blooming girl that I did a rescue drench on on 11/30 has only slightly improved, the color is still pales/light green but I'll add a couple pics of the other two in the same tent.

The other two look great. How strange.

I suggest pruning that yellow one. Take lowermost branches and suckers. The roots just might properly support a smaller plant. Or cull it. Obviously, the other two are doing well....so sometimes they take all your vibratory energy and lower it a bit and everyone suffers.

Get 'em to behave or cull 'em.

Hey Ween, ya might wanna give them a really good bunch of EWC (top dressed). The extra N in the castings will bring some color back to the lighter green ones....just sayin .:high-five:

I think I'll prune em up and give em some EWC and if that doesn't work she'll get the ax.

Thanks guys!

That sort of formation of leaves isn't uncommon in early bloom on some Sativa strains. Straight water next time....then after that do a Rescue Drench. Do not spray any foliars for at least 10 days. Increase day and night temps about 2 degrees if possible: IE instead of 66/76 to to 68/78. Or 72/80 or whatever. Just try to increase two degrees. the leaves should straighten out in a week or so. Everything else will be just fine, including buds and resin.

Why? Because of salt build up in the soil, mainly from the foliars coupled with a plant that has slightly low metabolism. Increasing temps just a tad will fix it.

For anyone that is unaware of it... Doc's suggested remedy is how you fix nitrogen(N) toxicity. The curled down (aka: the Claw) leaves are signs of N toxicity. The newer leaves are usually a good indicator of the issue. Older leaves can indicate there is still too much N in leaf structure of those particular leaves.

Hiya Doc and fellow Brixers,

Stunning plants, Doc; as usual you inspire me to keep that bar going on a higher and higher level.....yes, I occasionally have plants that seem to tack in a different direction, Weenmeoff; that shit will happen probably regardless....it has me reviewing my environment and what did I do on a certain day when I was being lazy, not focused, or whatever....

Last nite I reread 25 pages of "notes" that I cut and pasted when I first discovered Doc's various websites, was totally overwhelmed, but was motivated to begin down this path....that was 4 years ago....you should see how dog eared my "Bible" is now, LOL.

Having reached my goals of growing high quality medicine for my patients, my entire harvest is spoken for before the chop, seasoned GROWERS tell me my product is the best they have ever experienced and my buds look like a lot of "love" went into my harvest (I'm not kidding, it's shocking!), it was good to go back to square 1 and revisit the basics....so glad I did....I strive to improve with each and every grow, to see how far I can raise my own bar, as I toil alone downstairs in my grow rooms, because I don't know what I don't know....Doc's websites keep me in touch with reality and allow me to check in periodically to see my own progress....very humbling, indeed. I never take anything for granted and thank you, all.....

All you newbies, you have many hands to hold, so jump in and fear not..... :surf:

P.S. I don't have a journal on 420; so I research and chat when I am moved...but have managed to connect with some terrific people....recently I was gifted 20 seeds of different strains to increase my patient offerings and was also recently gifted by a winner of the month contest all of their winnings....that kind of shit just never happens to me, so I was brought to my knees.....gratitude anyone....?

Was pruning, there was so much small stuff underneath, I had like a shopping bag full and then noticed what looked like a seed or pollen sack so down she/he went. Now the other 2 have a little room to spread out.

Good morning all, just wanted to start the day with some bud porn :):) this is my GDP lady friend at lights off after getting her 2nd cat drench. This kit can grow.

Happy day y'all.

Last night I put this clone to bed looking like a million bucks. This afternoon I glanced in the tent and found this.

Any suggestions? She's up to speed with everything but Brix. I'm getting ready to do that today, which is why I was in there.

I'd skip Brix for now - do DeStress with WA instead. Is it the leaf fade that concerns you? For that, I'd give a double dose of Trans/Tea next watering. If it's the slight wilt, could it be ready for a drench?

Her next drench is later today or Monday, Graytail, and it's a Trans/Tea. I'll double up on it. I was looking back at the pictures and those leaves were turning and I just didn't see it. How does one miss that, when it's going on all over the grow?

She's due to be flipped in a week or so. It looks like a good time to get her into a bigger pot. I'll transplant her with the next drench. That'll give her another week in veg before flip to work on some roots. She'll get the foliar in the morning.

Thanks Graytail. :hugs:

Yep, good advice from Graytail, both with the drench and the foliar.

If you've got 'em....top dress about 3 tblspn epsom salt AFTER the drench. Don't water it in this time....the roots aren't as happy as they should be just yet.

Doc, i'm confused bud,....giving the Wayx10 w/ DeStress is OK??? I havn't heard or seen anyone do this yet as it's been said to give it with Brix only...WTF ?
