Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

:nomo:
Oops, forgot the quote:

"The U.S. and Canadian governments will NEVER let the common person grow their own weed! It will never happen...think about it...why would they? They stand to make billions with they're hand in everyone's pocket collecting taxes from it ,just like booze and cigs!If it is legalized in the near future, it will be regulated just like those! "

I dunno, I think they'll still make billions anyway. Most people don't want the hassle or don't have the space to grow their own. Plus, stealth will still often be an issue because theft will continue to be a major problem for home grows, and that'll stop even more from growing. And you can brew your own beer and wine, not sure if there's any prohibition against distilling other things and I don't think it's illegal to grow your own tobacco, is it?

EDIT: just checked and it is completely legal to grow your own tobacco. :)

Yes your correct as well Boscoe...They ,governments ,at least this one in Canada would always try and use the "it's not safe" card, and because of the rep it (weed) has gotten over the yrs ,on the news and such they will never say it's ok for you and me to grow it for rec. use ...never.It would be opening up way too many other problems with unsafe grows etc.More and more people are open about it then ever were today...and that's great to see happen. If it was legalized, they would no doubt ,get rid of ,or at least ease up on the laws . Remember ,in Canada they can ruin your life ,and send you to jail for growing 6 plants!!!!!!! I'm goin for a Stella!

Doc tell us some more about your cat drench practice. What led you to try this technique and what is your theory on how the plants are responding?

Many thanks
Ludweed

I hate to call this a "practice" because it's the first time I've done it.....but I'm trying to limit the size of the plant as much as I can, and I've noticed that early Cat Drench sort of does that....so I'm testing an idea of using only Cat Drench in order to see if I can actually:

1. Get the damn thing to finish
2. Keep it small enough for 2 1000 watt lights.

So far, it seems to be working. I've failed 3 times in the past trying to grow these things....and I consider the older of the two to be a partial success. So I'm desperately trying to figure it out.

These Sativa's aren't like growing normal plants!

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

well you're def making good progress. They look great.

I haven't grown any true land race so I haven't had to contend with any huge plants. I do have Sugar Punch/carnival lined up as my first kit grow. SP is known as a huge stretcher but it's also just a 10 weeker.

Super curious to learn if the larger plant in pic tastes and punches as good as it looks. eager for ur smoke report.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Yep.....you're on the right track.

Look at the kit like a piano keyboard, all tuned up and in good working order. I'll show you how to play your major, minor, 4th, 5th, 7th chords and your major and minor scales. Once you get familiar with all that, you start making your own music and "invent" new chords and scales as you get better.

I'm trying to grow outrageous Sativa's right now and already my next attempt is working better than the last. The gigantic thing was grown "by the book" except after week 10 I started feeding only Cat Drench. The slightly smaller, much greener one has been fed only Cat Drench from the get go.....and I've top dressed twice with my "Rescue Soil" (has all the trimmings put back in and composted) .

It's already growing better than the first. It also helps that I've reduced the photoperiod to 11 hours of daylight. So, we've got a lot to learn!

I will say this: While there's a market for the hydro strains like OG, I no longer prefer them over the magic of a good pure Paki, Afghani or tropical Sativa. Old school strains are much better in the kit than hyrdo strains, no matter how the latter is grown.

Doc, awesome plants! Regarding the bottom one: is it "leafless" by design or by strain?

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Hey guys, I know this forum is for docs kit but im wonder if you could give me some advice on a problem of mine. I am using lumperdawgz soil mix. I drained my soils nitrogen from excessive watering, they are light green are growing slow but the leaves still reach upward. There is also purple lines starting on the new growths stems. I am a week away from flowering and only foliar sprayed during veg and going to beginning of flowering with neptunes fish and seaweed fert. I give them a microbe tea once a week. Should I feed the soil this week and next week( the first week in flower) with neptunes fish and seaweed and hope they are nice and green again then cut it off second week in flower? The strain is nirvana Wonder Woman and they are outdoors. I appreciate any help! Thanks

I wish I could help you out brother, but I'm not familiar with your particular soil.

I don't think you drained your soil of nitrogen....I think you damaged your roots. Excessive watering does that. Don't flower them just yet. If you've got it, give them a dose of Calcium Nitrate along with the fishy ferts and the tea you're using and that should help get the roots hooked back up.

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Yes Dr Ziggy but there in smart pots and the roots have gone through the bottom and into te ground. Ok Doc thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that and hopefully everything works for the best.
