Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Lots of flooding in upstate NY !!
Also East. We got our share here in the beautiful province of Quebec :surf:
Lots of flooding in upstate NY, 5-6 inches rain !! We got 40-50 mph winds but only 2 inches of rain. I'm about 50 miles east of Albany NY. Supposed to snow this thursday, our 1st. this yr. !!

I timed things poorly and need to get my clones out of the solos they came in and into 1s. Soil had only been cooking for 2 weeks, is that ok? I know it's not preferred but I saw where doc said the soil is toxic for 2 weeks so thought maybe I can do it. I could nurse them a little longer in solos of need be.

I'd try to hold off if I was you. 1s aren't going to have enough volume for the coming to finish properly even if it isn't too hot for the plants. Do you have any straight pro-mix you could put them in until then?

Thanks Morg! I'll have plenty of soil and it will be fully cooked and then some by the time I'll need to up pot. Still same answer?

I have three seedlings and I am starting another seed for a 4th plant I have one that hasn't broke through the soil yet so I started another seed like Duggan said to do. I still have my fingers crossed the one will pop its head out of the soil but I started another seed just in case I also didn't want one to be too far behind the others. Anyway they are in the DBHBB soil that was cooked for at least 8 weeks. I presoaked the soil with TP and Tea as Duggan instructed me to do. He is my mentor on this my first DBHBB grow and also my first indoor grow. I am excited to be doing Docs system for lack of a better word. I am sure with Duggan's help this will be a Great run for me. It will give me a better idea of how to use the DBHBB in my future grows, I am sure I will also need help on other DBHBB grows I do for awhile and I am super glad Duggan is helping me through this process. I would be lost without his help.

Very nice of Duggan to help you! I'll be joining you soon with my first DBHBB grow! 2 more weeks and soil should be ready!

I don't think it would be harmful to the plants in the short term, but you'll want to up-pot them pretty quickly. You can't leave them in just that soil for 1-2 months to veg. You'll need to get them into properly cooked soil in a couple of weeks when it's done.

Just curious, why do you need to get them out of the solo cups right now?

Hey Flump,..why not start now. By the time you need soil , it will be ready. Just start the seeds in regular ProMix and away u go! :surf:
Next run of soil I make I will save a little Pro Mix for seedlings in the 1 gal. pots. I didn't know to save some of it when I mixed the soil but mine cooked for 8 weeks so the full mix should work OK

Because theyve been in the solos for like 6 weeks, they do still look pretty healthy so could probably leave them longer.....

So figured id show off alil bud porn from my Mandarin Cookies clone. Can you say purps inda house  :headbanger:.

Then here we got my Red Leicester Tease having issues. But she keeps throwing out new pistals an the buds r rock hard. So im gud with lettn them continue a bit to fatten up some lol.

If you're running 1st or 2nd run, you're fine planting directly in the soil. You don't need to use straight pro-mix. It's the 3rd run that starts getting pretty hot for seedlings.

I'd try to keep them in those until your soil is ready. You'll have to transplant twice in a months time or less and every time you do that you cause them stress. Once is better and even if they start getting raggedy, they'll snap right back once you up pot them in fresh soil.

Dropping by to say hello to the Gang of Brixfits! I’ve enjoyed this journey very much, what a great system!

Hey Dopy! Crushing it as usual! :high-five: :yummy:

Thanks brother! That's what I'll do. I've been growing them slowly as is under 2 curly CFL bulbs only. There is a clear cup covered with a red cup so I can check the roots which look not so great so far. Plants look pretty good though.

Looking good Ween. They're getting big, but I don't see any root bound issues by the leaves so I think you should be fine for a couple more weeks. Just need to water every day probably....

Thanks Morg! No need to water daily, the roots are poor for their age which may contribute to the slow growth....?
