Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Doc is watching ...and he is safe! Cheers Puffer..:high-five:
Looking forward to a journal , once ya get things happy , happy .
Duggan I'm hoping you can help. Just been reading up on the brix gardening. Currently have Subkool's soil mix cooking. Was wondering if you could recommend any of the "kit" products for my next grow with this soil. I'll switch to full brix next grow. But thought some of the "kit" products might be advantageous in addition to the soil mix I'll be using.

composted soil mix;

  • 6 bags x 10-gallon Roots Organic Soil (For a total of 60 gallons or 210lbs of soil)
  • 2 bags x 50L (35 lbs) Biobizz Light-Mix soil (Total of 70lbs)
  • 2 bags x 30 lbs Organic Earthworm Castings (Total of 60lbs)
  • 1 box 6 lbs Fish Bone Meal (3-16-0) Note: 3-15-0 or 3-18-0 can also be used
  • 1 cup Dolomite Lime (“prilled” if possible)
  • ½ cup Azomite (0-0-0.2)
  • 1 box 5 lbs Blood Meal (12-0-0)
  • 1 bag 4 lbs Happy Frog Bat Guano (0-5-0)
  • ¾ cup Epsom Salt

Thanks in advance!

Hi every one,

Thank you and thank you all for your warm welcome. Your friendliness and kindness is heartwarming.

Having a journal is a great idea and I am looking forward to growing under the guidance of this crew. I like what I see when I am reading other people’s journals. There are a lot of successful stories in high brix crew and I can’t wait to see how mine turn out.

Update on my story before I start my first journal. :)

I sent a email to the local EWC company with questions about their product to get more information for our high brix grow. The main thing was potassium and finding out the true NPK rating. As we know in Doc’s kit the EWC needs zero potassium ( 1-1-0 or 1-0-0 ) . The company could not answer any of my questions and they tried to explain their knowledge/practice about plant and minerals which I never asked about. Lol. So I asked for a lab test result which they claimed to have their products tested. I’m still waiting on a reply about that.

I couldn’t wait any longer and I really wanted to start growing. So I bought the same unco ewc as posted on doc site and started mixin!

I used one big 50 gal bin

Purple Rain just came on the radio and I couldn’t help myself lol
Nearing my first Hi Brix harvest thanks to this thread, you guys’ threads, and Duggan’s wisdom. Cheers Brixxers!

Gorilla..has this been mixed yet?
This SS recipe should not require anything from Doc's kit whatsoever,...except for the odd drink of Tea.
This is a water only soil and does not require any added nutrients .Gypsum and SRP would have been a welcome addition to this SS mix. As long as microbes are happy, things will be fine.
Cheers.
Great. Thanks Duggan. Im using Green Bicycle teas. Are you familiar with them?

Hey Gorilla, no, i have no experience with that Tea. When i made my own, i usta just put a few handfuls of EWC's in a bucket(with water) with some BSM and aerate it for a couple days and use that. Worked pretty good, but was messy friggen around with the airstones and junk. Doc's Tea is very strong , so if you decide to use it , be cautious. Good luck with this crop ,....we all wanna see you using our soil ....it's more fun, trust me/us! Just take a look around ...i'm sure you have already,..i'm just blabbering now....just puffed some DBHBB Durban Poison. Chillaxin with a cold Stella..cheers eh.:high-five:

Wow Archie...thanks man,..dunno if i would call it "wisdom" though...more like , made a lot of mistakes, for a long time..lmao.......It was fitting for me to find Doc when i did though. When i had almost figured things out over a long time, i tried Doc's 6/5/3 method for a couple crops, when he was sayin stuff about this 'kit' he has, and i should just try it. That's when i could finally relax some and enjoy growing again. This system, with it's recycling capability , repeated success and ease of use is by far tops on my list. Cheers .:high-five:
