Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

re: Doc Bud - High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Im starting my new grow in a solo cup then going to a 1 gal plastic then to a 7 gal smartie. Should i let her get rootbound in the cup and the 1 gal and would there be any benefit in doing so? I plan on vegging for about 8 weeks....doable?

That's a long veg time, but yes, yes, let them get slightly rootbound, especially in the 1 gallon pot.

Thanks Doc...i was hoping you would say something like that, because i'm following instructions to the letter and was getting concerned about it.You too eh Canuck? I'l just keep giving them energy and 1/4 transplant every time and hope they (the buds) can hang in there a few more weeks. The buds look fantastic and smell real nice!:)Is there anything we can do for next run of MK Ultra to give the soil some more "staying power" like adding more amendment at "cook" time Doc?Just a thought. What you gonna do Canuck?
I've noticed similar tendencies with my OG's....all the fan leaves get nasty towards the end, but the buds stay very pretty. I think it might be partly the strain.

Anyways, to green them up hit 'em with Growth Energy. Every time.

Like I said at the beginning of your grow, OG crosses tend to like high salts. I dumb my soil down with guano or bone meal in order to grow those strains. Landrace is a whole different deal.

You can also topdress the OG crosses with some EWC about half way through bloom. Get a few more grows under your belt and you'll be right on it, bro. I think you're going to amaze yourself and your friends with what you have this time.

Hey doc what is the procedure for using one of those sulphur burners?

Turn off all fans, dehum, fresh air intake/exhaust. Keep AC on, get humidity up to 90%+ using humidifiers and run the burner for 4-8 hours depending on how bad the infestation is.

4 hours will kill everything on the plants and get most of the room dialed in for about 4 weeks. 8 hours is better, but I don't like to do it with that much bud material like you have at 7 weeks.

Ideally, if you have chronic PM issues, use the burner for 8 hours the last week of veg and again the 3rd week of bloom. Problem solved.

Wash your harvest!

For the last watering i just gave her water...5 gallons of it!! Kinda flushed her i guess youd say and from what i can tell the progression of the rusting leaves has stopped. Just gave her brix today and for the next watering im gonna do a light feeding of energy/trans/tea to see what she'll do.
Doc, that monsoon idea worked. Thanks bro. Ill keep with the feeding schedule for the last couple of weeks.
For the last 16 days im gonna drop the light time by 1/2 hour every other day. Its a white widow thing. Im gonna try to get her as white as she can be :). If it doesn't work then lesson learned :)

Thanks Doc! Great advice.I'm gonna see how this run finishes off and what i'l probably do is do everything the same as this run but half way thru bloom i'l top dress with a liberal amount of ewc.I really don't want to mess with your formula too, too much Doc, since they do look quite nice despite the leaves turning on me.And your so right about being amazed...even when i pick off discoloured leaves they smell different than anything else i've grown! Very aromatic to say the least...the buds will be awesome, i'm sure. A few more weeks to go and NO hurrying !!This is when a little more patience works wonders:) Cheers all!

I don't much of an opinion on auto's other than I hate them and wish they didn't exist. Ruderalis has no place in my pantheon of Cannabis strains.

I'm very happy with them too! I've got a new "Roots" product I'm testing out for the kit. Me likey! It has a bit more magnesium in it.

Not really. I only have a few strains that are 'pure.' Most are simple crosses which do much better than Frankenstrains in High Brix. The landrace strains are things of beauty however, and the smoke is unique and wonderful.
