Doc Bud's High Brix Q&A With Pictures

Bump I think @Doc Bud missed this.
I've never seen young ones look like that. If it happened to me I'd question the cook. I assume that's 1st run soil? Did you mix the soil all at once? Did you store the soil all together like in a big trash can or separate into totes or something? What temps did you cook the soil at and for how long?
I mixed it all together on a tarp and then stored it in 2 25 gallon totes. It cooked for over a month in the house at around 70 degrees. The g13 was germinated at just over a month and of course the soil used for all subsequent plants has had a slightly longer cook. Yes first run soil. Water wasn’t added to mix until it was put in the totes and then it was around 2.5 gallon per tote.

Sumpin ain't quite right.

99% of problems are environmental, while 1% are gross user error.

Please detail your environment, what the pots are resting on, etc.

Did you use any other products in the mix? Especially "myco" products?

I guess i shud point out wen i said i soaked them. I meant i got the whole plant top an bottom. But my mister sprayer bottle does such a fine mist it wasnt a ton. Like they werent drooping to the soil line or nuthn like that. But everything was misted down.

They'll be fine.

Outdoors we say to spray when the birds are singing the loudest, as that usually matches up to when the stats are open.

Indoors, spray 10 minutes wither side of lights on if you want to optimize spraying.

Sorry, I didn't expand the post properly. If rh is down to 35 and temps are nearly 80 you're gonna have trouble.

What were they started in?

I just saw this:

You wrote:
""Water yesterday but hasn’t received a growth drench yet either so was looking to give her one tomorrow and start with the flower calendar on her. I’ve tried not to let her get quite as dry after hearing some testimonials about stressing her.""

Ah. If you're thinking that watering today and following up with a drench tomorrow AND trying to keep them wet so as not to "stress them'" that's the problem!

1. Cannabis does not like wet feet!
2. Roots won't form if the medium is always moist
3. They have have been Drenches and allowed to get very dry.....(all this is repeated in the instructions and on hundreds of high Brix journals here) Try following watering technique as mentioned here:

Watering — DOC BUD's HIGH BRIX BLEND

It also says this if the video isn't perfectly clear:

""Generally speaking, we try to let the containers go dry between waterings/drenches in the vegetative cycle of the plant.

By 'completely dry', we mean that the first physical signs of wilting are present. These may include droopy leaves, loss of turgor, noticeably lighter containers, etc.""

"Stressing" the young plant by encouraging root growth is akin to "stressing" a kid who has poor hygiene to clean up his act or not have a healthy life.

Exercise is stress.....think of proper watering tech as exercise for the roots.

I think you've drowned your roots and your humidity is too low.

Doc. I was the one to tell Magoo that the stress of dry roots caused my Auto to flower at 3".
I think the auto's I have walk a fine line between too dry and too wet only from my experience. I think the auto requirements differs from Photo plants.
Do you have an opinion on auto's and best practices?:thanks::Namaste:

I’ve been doing the wet dry cycles with all of them except the DDA. And I did put some mycorrhizae powder in once with either the DDA or GSC. Wet feet was definitely an issue early on but has been improved with more holes in pots and more time to drain at an angle before returning to the tent where they sit on small metal racks off the floor. So with the G13 Haze....droopy still a week after transplant....I want this girl to look happy for the first time in her life. Lol. What would y’all do! She was transplanted last Saturday with tp drench and destress foliar last Sunday. Just a tad bit of water dribbled around the edge a few days ago. According to the pdf her next feeding should be the growth drench. Is that still what y’all would recommend?

Ok so hit them with brix foilers 10 minutes after lights go on then? Now shud i do that with all foilers? Also when i do plain watering shud i only be doing just alittle dribble around the edges or shud i completely soak them then let go completely dry again?

That timing is good for all foliars.

You want the wet/dry cycle, so:

TP -> let dry -> water + TP -> let dry -> GE -> let dry -> water + TP -> let dry -> repeat. ;)

Here is a tip I learned the hard way. I made up 5 gallons of leaf wash. The plants were small so upside down and in the bucket to the soil line they went. I let each plant soak for 30 seconds.
This will cook all the leaves. This is no fault of anything Doc has said. It was something I done on my own. Some have now started with some new leaves, others are not looking good. I will just have to wait out the effects of this experiment.

Hey Magoo,..and gang!...Answer,..NO! If you just transplanted her and she got a Drench of Trans then ,...then please give straight water,...when dry...wait till she is dry, or very close. That new soil has loads of goodies. Did you lift the 'dry' pot,..then u have a good idea when to give her a drink,...of just water. Do not add any Myco products to our soil, ok,..it simply doesn't need it,...it is balanced . cheers eh....:high-five:

Ok but wondering how much water shud it only be alittle around the edges or soak em?

. They did get lil shiney blotchy spots on a few leaves but for the most part i think they look healthier all except 1 who has a leave shriveling up but im not fully sure it was the brix spray. Here she is what do u think i was think a pest of sum sort. Its the bottom right leaf u will see it lol.

But my others seem 2 be doing great. Even my new seedling is lovin the new soil my amnesia lemon.

Plus i got another baby my gorilla glue#4 auto in 10 gal cloth pot full of hibrix soil. So im interested in seeing how good i can get an auto to preform with the kit.

That leaf curl & damage looks suspiciously like fungus gnat damage to me, which I have recent experience with. It happens bc their larvae eat the root hyphae. They can do more harm than you’d think. I’m using all approaches to combat them now - BTi powder (mosquito dunks/bits, yellow sticky traps and recently gnat nix).

Might not be, and I may be a bit hyper-vigilant about gnats, but it sure looks like it to me. On some of the other plants as well. The curly leaf edges can be an early sign I’ve discovered.

Another good reason to let everything dry out completely. If you can. :)

When the plants are younger, it can take a week or two for the pots to go dry. The top tends to dry out quicker then the bottom. So, when top is dry but the pots are not light enough to warrant the next feeding/watering, you can dribble some water in a perimeter around the plant to help the pots dry out evenly and still make the plant's roots search out the water

Nice well gud luck bro they look amazing congrats.

Hey guys 2day is the day i do a brix foiler spray shud i do those at lights off or on i jus figured off so they droplets didnt burn the plant. But if sum1 cud confirm when is the best time to feed the brix foilers?

About an hour or 2 after they wake up with lights on is when I give brix, I give leafwash at 10 mins before lights out:passitleft:

So now all 4 of my girls are full on blooming in 16/8! 2 from clone and 2 from seed? They all look healthy with no (or very few) 3 bladed leaves. Almost all 5 and a few 7. Took a few pics but battery was low so no flash and I didn't want to post the blurple pics.

Any thoughts as to why my plants are blooming on a veg schedule? These are not the first to,do,this on me.

I can flip but was hoping to put it off for another 2 weeks because I will have company here around Christmas and I don't want the BCPs stinking up the places, in a good way for me but not so much for my guests, ha! I,can rely on my carbon filter and maybe scented candles or something.

:passitleft:

I have a sneaking suspicion about this BCP's lineage.

It smells distinctly of bakery/baked goods just like the HSO's Blueberry Muffin plants we're growing on the farm. HSO tells folks to keep those at at least 16/8 to avoid flowering, so...

It happens ween with some of these hybrids out now. I had a male bust pollen everywhere on 16/8 schedule. We save few $ but this happens on some. I've debated on going back to 18/6, but this isn't too bad
