DobeWan's Perpetual Adventure 2.0: The Reboot

A few pics of how things are looking tonight. This is 33F - we're halfway through week 5 and about to hit the homestretch - for all but the super slow Amnesia x OG anyway. I had to wait until rotating the gangly Liberty Haze into the back row again to get decent shots of the whole tent.

I play musical chairs, and move the position of the 4 plants clockwise by 1 spot every day to ensure they get relatively even light distribution, given that I have a stronger light on the right side of the tent.

Kind soil!!!! Or stank soil. I'm gonna cook my own :p. I figure if I'm gonna try an outdoor soil grow might as well make it all my own. Being further north than. Most of you kind Canadian folk means I'll be running an auto as well. Pineapple express

I'm getting a little bit of rust spotting on a handful of sugar leaves on Royal Gorilla. It appears to be localized to the tips of the leaves and shows on a couple of colas but not all. This one is the worst affected - it and the other similarly impacted cola are the two largest of the bunch.

No interveinal chlorosis on the lower fans but I notice a droop. The veg is fairly dark looking. I interpret the biggest colas as being the neediest of K and thus the most likely to show a deficiency first.

My assessment, then? My old nemesis, K deficiency. I'm not sure if that's just confirmation bias. The only other thing I thought it might be is calcium / magnesium but I figured that would be within the leaves instead of at the tips.

I was thinking of attacking it on 2 fronts:

- Letting my pH drift up from my usual 5.9-6.0 to 6.2 or higher - this would give the plant some additional leeway to take in nutrients and would specifically help rule out calcium being the possible culprit.

- Dropping my PPM, removing the KoolBloom liquid, and boosting the PK with KoolBloom powder now rather than waiting until the week transition on Saturday.

I think the plant is highly needy of PK at this point based on the look - it's swelling the quickest with round fat buds at the top, and it has the densest trichome coverage. I don't think either of these approaches will be bad for the plant, and both would work to address the issue.

My only other thought, then, is that it might make sense to run a mild 1-1-1 solution through it to give it a reset before making the switch.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to my approach? @Asesino85, what do you think?

I read something a while ago about running a lower or higher ph in veg and then the opposite in flower to help with the uptake of the minerals that the plant needs at that time. I do not remember the specifics but it makes alot of sense to me.

Awwww, look at her twisted self.

Got to love the unusual ones..... :circle-of-love:

Yes I have a soft heart for the #misfit
