DIY Stealth Cab, Hydro, LED & Multiple Strains in Small Space - Oh Boy!

That seems to be the only problem I am going to have with the bonsai moms, fewer clones than I run in a set up. I will have to do multiple strains in the NFT and figure out which are most compatible (height and finish times). Or let the bonsais grow out just a little bigger so I can take more?

Have you seen this link???:

Bonsai Mothers

Here's an excerpt:

This bonsai mother, if well fed, produce 10 to 30 good cuttings every 14 days under an HID or every 20 days under fluorescent shop light. This means a 4 ft x 2 ft shoplight with 18 Mums, could produce an output of over 9500 cuttings a year.

I just need to grow out my Bonsai's a little more. My current PE bonsai is 1/2 that size and with no other Moms, I keep taking clones from her instead of letting her grow out! :)

Glad you liked it. Make sure you also check out the link in my signature for the "Bonsai Sultan Method" if you haven't read it already. It's amazing information!

Mr. Krip -

Wow, I have gotten so far behind! Now caught up...

First, congrats on all the new gear. Grow creep boneheads unite?! ;)

Second, bummer about clones dying, but looks like you've got the cloning equipment to get that going again fast. Nice tent. Magic Beans has a great suggestion about the tent and tent-suck prevention. If my health were better, I'd imitate what he did - check it out if you haven't. I'm so happy for you brother. Looks great. Your Lucy looks like she'll be fine. I smiled as I recognized her. There is a distinctive look to Lucy leaves I've noticed. I really like it - my uber-healthy Lucy is so fun to watch grow - and my other one is finally taking off.

Take care my friend. Congrats again on the cool new gear! :high-five:

Thanks, Bro! Yeah, I was a little bummed about those last six clones, and if I was here, it wouldn't have happened, but now that I have six more clones in the TK, I'm feeling much better. If they all survive, I'll have my first round for the SOG in three weeks. I should be harvesting the PE in about 2 1/2 weeks, so, at that time I'll move these six clones into the flower side of the cab under veg CFL's to veg for another week before going to flower in the tent.

I'm hoping that, in another 2 1/2 weeks, I'll be able to take a couple more PS clones and maybe a Lucy clone along with three more clones from the PE Bonsai so I can start getting some new strains into the mix and give the Bonsai a little break.

I've noticed the unique shape of those Lucy leaves, too! :high-five:

She is looking MUCH better now! :wood:

I did see what Beans did with the vertical supports on the tent from his first journal - and I like it! I will probably do something similar once I see how bad it is when I get the ventillation installed.

Your girls are looking great, too, Bro! :bravo:

I love seeing all the different topping styles next to each other, especially those Skywalkers where you can see the difference between the UBT with four main colas, versus the bushiness of the plain topping! :thumb:

Thanks for sharing in my happiness and best wishes for the quick return of good health! :thanks:

Sounds good except 45 minutes off is way too long! Especially when the cuttings are fresh and have not started to fend for themselves. You would probably loose the entire lot with 45 minutes between watering cycles. The longest I have let mine go is 10 minutes and that was after they developed root buds...

Alright! You talked me into it! I ordered that cycle timer tonight (the one I sent you link to in the PM).

Very Nice Mr. K!

Can you take a few photos of the entire Mini 24 machine? I'm curious to see what it looks like in an actual grower's setting! Thanks in advance! :thumb:

Here ya' go, Bro! Sorry for the delay!

I wasn't really sure what you wanted to see, but here's the TK as I have it in the cab currently:

I had all power running up to the top section of the cab, but the transformer on the fan's power supply was too big to make it through the wiring hole, so I ran a power strip up to the top of the veg area and have the fan and pump plugged in there:

For the 24 plant sites, the manifold only has four sprayers, but they do seem to be enough to cover all 24 sites effectively:

Here's the six clones all looking good:

And, here are two of the three that had roots showing yesterday. They're still hard to photo, but it's obvious root formation after less than 48 hours in the TK!

I didn't take a pic of the back of the unit, since there's not a lot of space to spin it around, but it's the same as the T-48 with the cooling fan in back.

Let me know if there's anything else you want to see!

QUICK PIC UPDATE

All the girls in veg are looking MUCH better over the last couple of days since I've been here and able to give them some much-needed attention. The color on all the plants is now a nice, lush, green color and the signs of the cal/mag deficiency have pretty much vanished.

Here's the oldest PE clone:

Here's the PS top that got cloned when the PS got the UBT...still no roots showing:

Here's the PS seedling that gave up the clone:

Here's litttle Lucy starting to fill out:

Here's the Bonsai mom looking awfully short right now!

And, here are the gratuitous bud shots:

TALES FROM THE KRIP - NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD!

Just a quick update on those six "dead" clones I came home to earlier this week...

Basically, I just tossed 'em on a window sill for a day, then, some veggies I were germinating for a fall outdoor garden sprouted, so I put the clones with the veggies in a plastic bin under two 6500K CFL's:

DSCN08302.JPG

The cubes were pretty dry, and the plants look like crap, but when I checked the bottoms, I had this:

And this:

And this:

DSCN0834.JPG

So, I guess they're not dead...just "mostly dead" (a la "Princess Bride")!

I broke out some new hempy containers I got at the $ store that are a little taller than the solo cups, but take up less horizontal space. They have a neat little Holloween theme and I got two different colors, purple for the PineApple Express and Black for the Power Skunk. This was before I thought I had a viable Lucy and when I was planning on rooting the first clones in Rockwool instead of the TurboKlone. With the TK clones, I'll go strraight from the cloner to the 2L hempy's.

Anyway, I took the one clone that had the most roots showing and I made up a purple hempy, so, now I have a new clone in the mix! :yahoo::

DSCN08351.JPG

I'll transplant the others to hempys if/when they get better root development.

But, once again, the veg cab is overpacked and I think I might have to veg a few of the plants in the new tent until the PE's in flower finish and I can commandeer their side of the cab.

Here's where we're at:

DSCN08361.JPG

Looks like I MAY be able to start the first SOG round with as many as 12 plants instead of six.

It's getting pretty unruly now with almost 20 plants I'm dealing with, but I like it!:)

Happy Harvests!

It's so CUTE! :)

That is the PERFECT size for a personal grower! I would have definitely popped for that over the T48 had it been available at the time!

Darin and Co. are going to sell A TON of these! :thumb:

Thanks for the photos! :)

Oh! One thing... The fan is on the front on my T48, not the back.

Cool! What an interesting surprise to get those roots. Love it - hopefully you'll have plenty for your Sog - don't know how you keep up with 20!

LOL...it's probably on the front of mine, too, and I just have it turned the other way!

I put it in the back cuz' that's where the power cords come out and also because it's right in front of the cab's intake vent and fan so figured it would help keep cool air flowing.

Yeah...I think I'll be OK...It was the initial round I was really worried about and it sure looks like I'll have more than the six I planned, although, still running a little later than I had planned.

The ones in the cloner now will need about two weeks in there. By that time, I should be able to take at least two more PS clones, plus whatever the PE Bonsai Mom can grow back by then, Plus, at least a cutting or two from the oldest PE clone, and that doesn't count the PS clone I'm trying to root now! :)

Like I said, it shouldn't take long to get caught up, but, early on, I'm taking mixed batches of both PE and PS. This is really not the best way to do a SOG. I should be doing all the same strains so they all stay about the same height, take the same nutes, and finish at the same time.

But, ya gotta get started somewhere! I figure I'll do some topping early on, as needed, so when they all go into flower, they'll be about the same height and see what happens from there! :grinjoint:

BTW...I think the actual number is 18 right now.:allgood:
