Dirtfamers Backyard Giants

The Italian Cypress Look like an excellent way to give urself a little more vertical room. Those plants are insane. Can't wait to see how this grow ends. I didn't notice that u tied it down. I had to go back in pics. Keep it up. From the looks of things u've done thisb4. What strains are they?

All but the bushy plant on the left are G-13. The one on the left is a no name. She stil in preflower and real slow to flower. Thats okay for she is stretching fast. The G-13 are growing multible hairs bud no small buds yet. The potted plants have little buds already.

I got the clones at a Medical CArd Holder Meeting. G-13 was on the cup. Thats all I know about the strain.

The bushy plant I got from a friend. I was only able to get 5 cuttings at the meeting. I am able to grow 6. So I ask around until I found a clone or cutting. when I got it from a friend it was about 7" tall and near dead. The top of the plant was dead but on the bottom there were about 3 dime size leafes that were green. I got home and planted right into the ground. It was potted in backyard mud soil.

The clone was healthy but friend did not harden it off. I did not top or LST her (Plant on the left) She did what she wanted to do.

My friend told me he was told it was called ZOMBIE. I can't find anything on it at all.

If its slow to flower and still stretching while the others are showing preflowers, definitely sounds like an indication of a sativa or sativa dominant growth pattern. Be prepared to battle the elements with a possible late finisher. I'll be keepin an eye on ur grow.

Just picked up my cosco carport tonight. I can just cover them or go total greenhouse. Not sure yet.

I'm thinking greenhouse. Probably finish round mid-late Nov (mere speculation) so frost/low temps will also be a concern. So U may want to factor in providing heat. Are all off them potted?

only 2 are potted. I can get all 5 in the cover/greenhouse.3 planted and 3 in pots. The plant by the fence is on it own. Unless I think of something.

Here is a shot how they grew in 30 days.

well today she is back up over the frame I made. This plant has it's own mind. I got about 4 inches of space before she will be at the roof of my cover. She likes to stretch and fill out at the same time. Every morning I walk out and shake my head in a happy way. It's alway fallowed by a "Fuck"

Here is the carport frame I found for $20 at a yard sell.. {10x20 only half in photo) The pot Gods are with me this year. Also you see the clearence and why I tied them over.

Here is the shot of the tall plants tie over. I would have loved to let her go.

dude how are you going to trim all that bud? hope youve got a small army of minions to do your bidding

Thanks for the great remarks.

I sprayed with BT to stay ahead of the moths/budworms. I used the BT is Safer Catapiller killer. I have seen only a few moths and 1 grasshopper so far. The lady bugs have all left but a few. So this this is a good sign. If you see moths around your plants you better hit them with BT asap. (search Bud worms)

I will tell you guys a trick I have learned this year.

We all know or should know that Yellow Jackets are great hunters around your plants. They will kill and eat all kinds of bugs. So I have learned when I forget to turn of my garden hose and it leaks a into the mud overnight the Jackets come all day long and take a drink or do whatever they do with the water. Then they fly around my plants and hunt. After seeing this I let my hose drip 24/7 for the jackets will come. They like the water in the mud.

Part 2 to the story

I was at the nursery and seen the yellow jackets traps. So I bought one. Inside the traps there is a tube with some kind of yellow jacket sint that atracts them to the traps. I put some drops of this on that wooden frame I made around my plants. I shit you not I have about 5 jackets around my plants or waterhole everytime I go out there.

I noticed the more days you let your hose drips more jackets come. It must be like the local water source or something. I love it when they hover around my plants hunting.

Dude I din't even know about the yellow jacket being predatory til u said so and I read up on it. I think that's the shit. B4 now I considered them pests. Man, who'd have thought that. Thanks for the info Dirtfarmer. What do U do if the colony survives the winter and the swarm grows?

Never really thought about that. Or even know how big a colony is. I'll look into it.

Ok time for yet another update :)

I will bore you first with my fresh clone right out of my fish tank filter. I love how they perk up even while rooting. I love starting off with healthy clones like this. I swear by my fish tank filter cloner. I feed tank water for the first few watering or so. Problem is that I have to keep these clones under 12 inches tall and wide to be legal. I have 8 weeks atleast before I can harvest my outdoor plants and let these go above 12 inches. I may just grow and keep takeing cuttings or just top the shit out of them until there 12 inch balls and thru them in veg. Not sure yet will see how it goes. Anyone know how to keep clones small for 2 months? (For reals)

If the stretch is done they will fit into this cover very nice. The top of the cover is 10 feet tall. This plant would have not fit inside if I did not tie it over. It was pushing 10 feet. I wish I would have planted to 3 more feet apart. I will finish the cover this weekend. I will cover them when we get the rain.

This is my bug cruser creeper. It sure make cruzing for bugs easy. My Makita flash light and this thing and it is on. I have only found one big green grasshopper so far. I walk my yard everyday with a broom sweeping for grasshoppers in the grass. I have seen only one in the fron yard. I see holes in my leafes here and there but nothing thats not normal. About one time a week I see a little spider curls up my new growth leafes into ball. I just smash him and uncurl the leafes. So far all is good for bugs. I sprayed with BT last week anyways.

A couple of the tops are right at the top of the trellis fence. The angle makes it look taller than it is. I am still good for about half an inch here :) I orders some 11 foot tall arborvidas trees like I have on the other side. They are in big burlap bags. I will just set those where the sunflowers are now. When I harvest they will be planted along the fence line.

SL738239.JPG

Lets hope they fit inside the 10x20x10 carport.

The potted plants are booming. They are way way ahead of the others. these are near 7 feet tall now. Buds forming very fast now. why so much faster? You got me.

Spiders and Clones

Why smash the spider? They won't harm the plant. Between them and the yellow jackets U got a good natural frontline minus praying mantus' and ladybugs.

As for the clones u can do a few things. U can top like u said, LST, supercrop, keep a fluorescent (not cfl) light very close overhead the canopy, or use some of these things in combination. Also control the temps. I'd say somewhere between 68-78F. Heat will encourage stretching I believe because every time I had tall plants with inches between internodes accompanied by fluffy buds (sometimes hermies) there was a heat issue. My 2 cents. I'm sure there's more u can do but that's how I c it without further research. Also, post a pic of this fish filter contraption. I'm curious. :peace:

The spider I smash are wreeking the leafes. They ball them up and pull the whole top new growth togather. They have to go.

The fish filter should be a few pages back. I will check tomorrow for the pics if I did not get them in this thread. Basicaly just a hang on the back everyday fish tank filter. Just drop them in. adjust Ph of the tank water and 10 days later ready to plant.
