Dirtfamers Backyard Giants

I think your 3-5 pound estimate will be more like 8-10 per. Incredible. Hope the smoke turns out to be awesome. The bad news is that the rain is on it's way.

Yah man getting hit with 40mph gust of wind right now. My covers are taking the blunt force so far. It did snap a branch though. Not sure if I will be able to save it.

Was up half the night watching the tarps and adjusting. The carport cover is doing great. It the cover by the fence that thinks it's a parashoot. :)

Ayup, we're getting good 40-50mph gusts here too. The girls are taking it pretty well--I did not cover them, for that is an exercise in frustration in my location--they're taped up and in traction right out in the thick of it. No great casualties yet, though the 15' Juicy Fruit's top is so heavy I've had to tape it to her supports lest she snap. No breakage though. But it's early yet.

Have you figured out how you're going to harvest these girls yet? Have a plan? You're going to need all kinds of room (and help!) if they all finish at once....;)

it is looking like I will not trim them at all. Just hang the whole plant and stuff in large mattress bags. even though my limit is 6 plants and 1.5 lbs. I can have 30 lbs on 6 plants drying ON THE PLANT and be 100% percent legal. I just only remove 1.5lbs from the 6 plants at any one time. The catch is that when they are being stored in large bag thay still count as my 6 plants.

Here is the link of how I can stay 100% legal with whatever I can grow on 6 plants. I am thinking my stalk is much fatter than the one he shows in the clip. He said it was 3 lbs male I think. anyway watch at 45.13 in the clip.

And then what questions would you have to ask this guy if your whole harvest depended on his method?

I dunno....I can't imagine my Skunks fitting into a mattress bag, even kingsize....*ponders*

You'll have to set up a HUGE drying room and manage the humidity to a tee to pull that off. And I can't see how in the world you can keep the plants curing and stored properly unless the whole room they're stored in is a controlled environment like a humidor, or like the warehouses they cure tobacco in.

Good luck with that.

Got to agree with that. I do 12 plants (two licenses) and it's always a race against time to get them trimmed up and drying before rot sets in after the harvest. Can't imagine having them covered.

Your forgetting I am not trimming at all. I am hanging the whole plants to dry. Then put into large bags. So there is no race to do anyhting.

People hang whole plants to dry all the time. It is the same as cutting it up into branches and hanging from string. it just the whole plant. I have dried like this many times.

I have plenty of room to hanf the plants. My 2 car garage has a 15 foot peak.

Also I will not be storing them long. this method buys me time all while being 100% legal with 10 to 20 lbs of pot in my house.

Also I picked up a couple of these. Some 240v Infrared heaters. I have an industrial fan hanging in my garage as well.

I was all worried about mold at first. But really it is just simple plant drying but larger plants.

Also the tops will be harvested and trim like normal. So the plants will be much shorter.

I also have a lot of question for this guy. I am waiting for an mail from him now. So we will see.

Thnaks guys

I would not store them in bags till they are completely dried. If any of them are in tubs just move the whole thing into the garage and let them dry out while still looking like they're growing to leo. That will help save your butt if they happen to show up.

I'll be interested in hearing more details on how this works. As a custom curist, I'm having a hard time imagining how you'll cure your bud if you just simply dry it out and bag the whole thing. I understand why you're doing it of course, as I have a similar concern with my own harvest. But I'm so OCD about each and every bud and their journey through curing it would yank my heart right outta my chest if I had to go back to the gorilla grow tactics of hanging whole plants. I may end up having to do it though....
