So thanks to this great site I've learned how cal- mag helps plants uptake nutrients and me buying everything in bulk I have a gallon of it that I've used maybe a little over a pint of it down in the dungeon. So while putting down fertilizer on the horse pastures I decided to add cal-mag to most areas. Boy did it make a difference. Much healthier dark green pastures compared to the area I didn't apply. Thanks 420 for the never ending education.

Yeah this place man...I love it. It’s literally seen me through some of my darkest years, mentally. I’m becoming a full blown gardening nut. The adorable older Filipino lady came knocking wanting cuts of my rose bushes lol.
I find, especially as I get older, that the journey can be just as great as the destination. There is a lifetimes worth of knowledge to gain if one chooses. What to plant and when, companion planting, etc.

So just now noon here and between the wife and I we fed chickens, horses, mucked stalls, let horses out in the back pasture, took manure out, knocked manure down in the front pasture, cut the weeds down in the front pasture, cut 1 1/2 acres of lawn, cut grass down in the chicken yard, cut a bunch of limbs down in the chicken yard, and cut 2 trees down and cut them up and put limbs on the burn pile. Lunch with my feet up then till garden, plant 4 rows of sweet corn and 4 rows green beans, plant 30 tomatoe plants, 20 pepper plants, squash, watermelon, pumpkins and cucumbers. Then need to put up an electric fence so tomorrow morning I'll still have plants in the garden. If time permits cut another acre of lawn. If were still alive, party tonight. Got all my plants up from the dungeon as well as my great white. Let the root growing begin.
 
Came in for a break. Not getting everything accomplished. Only got the corn and beans in the garden. Stopped there as we wouldn't have time to get the electric fence up. Need to get ready to go out and party. Everything else got done and more, just not the garden and fence.
