Derbybud Does CBD Strains In Coco & More

Cant wait to dive in lopin! 2018 is going to be the start of my breeding adventure...

From the research I have done just be very careful with males (super potent wind pollinators) and find the purest strongest strains and genetics possible that can still compliment each other. Landraces are hard to get anymore but some hybrids have been line bred for so long that they stay consistent in their genetic variance and so that have become "wild" can actually be beneficial as nature starts to fix the genetic abnormalities caused by human breeding. I think of them like mutts. many mutts that have lots of breeds(or strains in this case) look alike and it hard to alter them quickly if at all when breeding to other half mutts (designer breeds/strains) Now if you take a purebred great dane for example, you will be able to get a stronger change in looks, health, temperament than with the designer breed. it will boost the health of the great dane side while adding the conformation and size to the mutt as those dominant genetics override the mutts. Same with cannabis and it is a MAJOR breeding result in commercial cattle (ANSC major, its how I think lol).

Due to the purpose and academic nature of my presentation in a private school in a not as enlightened state, I didn't research for the medical strains and uses. I researched strictly genetics and breeding. I can tell you due to the unfortunate hybridization of most subspecies/strains and the underground environment they are grown in, very few "strains" are the same across the board. Strawberry Kush and it's endless phenotypes is a great example of this. Also, different strains can react with each individual differently (main reason why the FDA refuses to push forward in the medical industry with it as well as animals we usually test on react differently than we do, and you can't start with human trials) hybrid strains are great for recreational and so one medically but is leading to a rapid dilution in genetics which in the long run without intervention will lead to the severe mutation, plague, and death of the cannabis plant. (Heterosis strengthens certain genes while weakening others) you are better off learning the cannbinoids and what they can help treat and finding strains that compliment those ratios :)

Are there strains that are not hybrids? I know the all the strains I have tried are good for pain and depression. Some more intense than others.

Yes there are purebred strains, or landrace, strains. They can be difficult to find anymore as they are diminishing out in the wild and everyone readily crosses them to make super hybrids. They can be weaker than your hybrids which isn't as good for recreational but allows for good dosing levels medically. they tend to be a bit hardier as long as the growing environment is close to the origin climate. Some strains also required less light and resources to grow and flowers. Most don't have giant yields as that is not its main focus in the wild. Unfortunately many sold as landrace or IBLs aren't contaminated slightly with other lines. Examples of landrace strains that are not extinct (but many are close) include Kali Mist (pure sativa), Afghani, Panama Red, and Durban poison. There are more sativa landraces available than indicas. I have a few links explaining the benefits of landraces and the uses of them. They make great medical strains as they tend to be extremely consistent in their needs, content, and yield.

Hindu kush, acopoco gold, Colombian gold, Malawi, Kilimanjaro

Are all other good land race strains (or I think most of them are). I'm working with some Lilly nearly pure land race from the Congo. Land race just means they are wild growing cannabis that over hundreds of years have adapted to thrive in their given environments. The environmental stressers cause the plants genotypes to display themselves (phenotype) and those are the traits we chase for breeding.

But lopin is. Very correct. Most pure landraces aren't pure. You kinda have to go on a bushwacking expedition to find them then line breed to stabilize the desired traits

Lebanese landrace can exhibit Sativa or indica expressions, they also bred Russian Ruderalis into the line at some point and we see dwarf plants pop up from time to time. It all makes good hash though!

Awesome posts, Lopin! I would love to get my hands on landrace indicas. I find the closer I can get to "pure", the better I seem to be able to make it serve me medically. Hindu Kush is fantastic for me. It's also super high in myrcene, per your points around terpenes. Its cool to see your research matches up with my anecdotal experience.

Time for a trip to the Congo

My PCK x Erdpurt is a fantastic indica, nice fuelly taste to it. Very relaxing without couch lock and you get this warm fuzzy feel to the stone. Also hybrids with Alien Technology may work for you.

The Labyrinth tester I just tried is Tahoe Alien x Lemon Aliendog x Purple Peyote. After a couple of vapes and a couple of hours it's nighty night! .
