Dennise - No Longer The Newest Of Newbies - Not Growing In MG - Perpetual

If you have found 2 seeds on different plants it appears you most likely have a late flower pollen sack on one of your plants. I would inspect your plants for a yellow banana looking pollen sack coming from a bud. When a plant forms a late flower banana pollen sack this is called Bolting.

Hi Dennise

If you have found seeds, then the pollination must have happened some time ago.

It's too late now to be worrying about the extent of this.

If I had this situation, I'd first try to find the offending nanner/s.

Then I'd look at any new pistil formation and try to assess what further pollination

is likely to occur. The plants are quite mature now so my guess is not much.

Please be careful in the closet now as that pollen can contaminate the whole house

(while its viable anyway) need advise on that point, I'm no expert.

So if you can contain the pollen you could still let the plants mature.

Only other option is chop now and decontaminate.

Welp you were exactly right King. I just scoured over the buds and found the nanner coming out of the far left plant that I have found no seeds on. I will cut that off and is that all I can do? I can't seem to make the tears stop so I am going to get the banana out of there and let the 2 big ones grow on and I have chopped the middle one already. She had just to many seeds showing and if nothing else I will make butter out of her buds and trim. I just have such a hard time with how fast they developed cause I assure you I go over them every day at least once with the loupe. How did I miss this? Does it really happen that quickly???? Thanks for your help as always King....:adore::adore:

It's amazing how quickly those nanners can grow, I tell yah! That sucks, but hopefully you won't get too many seeds.

I wouldn't worry too much about your other plants, because as far as I know, they aren't flowering yet, right? Pollen has a life expectancy of two weeks, from what I gather.

But I'd definitely keep an eye out for more of them and get them early if you can.

I think you'll still end up with plenty of smoke, but I guess you won't know what's up until you harvest and dry things out.

We all support you, Dennise, so hang in there. You've got many more grows ahead as well, to look forward to!

Hi guys... sorry it took me so long to get back but after quite some time of beating my head against the wall I decided to do what had to be done and make the best of it. The middle girl had to be completely cut down and the bottom 3 branches of stretch Armstrong had to be cut but then I went through and looked at every single bud and only found 1 more seed but in all I had over 30. I know I wasn't paying near as much attention to the little bottom buds but I should have been but at least none of my nugs seem to have gotten pollinated. So after chopping the broke middle girl and the few branches off the big one I hung what was worth drying for smoke and then had a little over 3 oz wet of popcorn and sugar leaves so I made a really potent batch of cannabutter. I took about a million pics and circled what I think is the culprit. Let me know if that is what I have circled in the first 2 pics and if you see anything in any of the rest of them that I am missing.... Thanks guys.....:thanks:

Jeepers Dennise that was one big photo update.

I'm really pleased you got to terms with this.

Yes that was a nanner.

If you spot any more just pluck em off.

The rest of the bud looks to be maturing well, so some great smoke to come.

Well done :circle-of-love:

pulling off nanners will spread "pollen". the seeds (if mature enough) will be "feminized" since you have feminized, mild hermie bagseed crop.

the hermies that ruin our crops are the ones that produce nanners early. it's normal for feminized plants to produce nanners late in flower because that trait has not only been promoted but some will even claim that is has been programmed into their genes via feminization.

Well either way it is done now and cannabutter is made and brownies are in the oven. going to hit the bong for the first time today.... hence the reason I am still stressed. I just realized I was not stoned!!!! My body will shut down soon if I don't. It won't know what to think...lol Any how I threw all the seeds away as I never want to grow this again!!! It is to unstable for my temperament..... Another good thing came out of it. My fella was supposed to leave to go back to work today and decided to wait so he could witness my mental breakdown I think. Haha fooled him! I probably would have had a breakdown if he hadn't stayed but since he did I got over it rather quickly for me and he helped me get er' done. I checked all the buds again before they went to bed and I don't see anything else that even looks like a seed or a nanner so hopefully they will finish up in the next 2 weeks or so and be done and I can get the closet cleaned out again and get the group grow babies in there. Surely they will be more stable than the closet girls have been and they are all 3 showing pistils so are ready to go as soon as there is somewhere for them to go. I might even go ahead and start them in the tent on Tues after the Mars II 400 gets here and put the SBR clones in the cabinet until I can get the closet empty. My one and only female friend here came by earlier and wants a couple of clones to try and grow and guess which ones I told her she could have???? Even if she only takes 2 of them (clones from the closet girls) that will only leave 3 and that is more than enough. I just can't kill them though. I don't like them right now but I still can't make myself hurt them. Well the world didn't end so guess I'll go eat a brownie......:circle-of-love:

Only mature, dry and open nanners will be a problem b

I got one early enough the other week. Plucked it off, no seeds, no problem.

nanners are open as soon as they are visible. picking or plucking at them will only spread pollen.

if you look at the anatomy of a normal male pollen sack it's the nanner enclosed in plant tissue. when the plant tissue opens it looks like a banana or a "nanner" and is free to spread pollen.

I didn't even know what a nanner was until the other day and it was on a bud that was looking straight at me every time I opened the door just didn't know what I was looking at. Hopefully there will not be any others and it won't be an issue but at least I know what to look for and there is not much longer until my lovely ladies are chopped and smoked!!! The ultimate pay off for all the aggravation! then on to bigger and better things like Afghan x white widow, northern lights x big bud and sugar black rose.... then wild thailand and sleestack (I think that's what it's called and to lazy to go look) then I still have a couple of afghan kush x white widow seeds too so on to bigger and better smoke.....:high-five:
