heirloom, restaurant meals here are around same. Dinner for two, entree mains couple beers and wines, at a nice not over the top restaurant here be $150, as long as you didn't order the lobster, lol
 
Good seafood buffets have skyrocketed to above $25.00. There are still some big casino's that have large buffets that have all types of food that still are about $9.99 and they were very good and you could even get some :drool:prime beef or roast beef. Really a good value when you consider the cost of a Mcdonald's meal. Dan

Well honestly Vlad I wasn't going to cash in my credit cards or anything and most of the above mentioned studies were done on monkeys.... I see the reasoning...:biglaugh::biglaugh: I like to go and I do like the slots... Black jack too but mostly the brainless slots... Don't ever take more than I can afford to lose and if I win... I'm like a little kid..:) I like being waited on once in a while and I love the spa... Does anybody know how to work an oven?

I just started using one this year and learned how simple it is to make all kinds of delicious things AT HOME!

It's not like you can medicinally puff on a fatty while you're waiting for your food to arrive at somebody else's establishment like you can at your house. I've made pizzas, croissants, french fries, cake, medibles...

The only thing I feel after spending money at a restaurant is bloated and tired. I can do that at my house much cheaper.

Cooking is a life skill not a hobby and anyone can learn it if they make time for the important things in life...
 
Yeah, I only eat at home, can't afford anything else at the moment.. Can't wait till I can though.. I don't have the patience to julienne my carrots :rofl: I'm one of those lucky sobs too.. I can be a gluttonous pig and lose weight... I enjoy going out occasionally. Im not a trained chef, they have skills I can't create but can enjoy..in saying that though, my favourite meal is mums roast dinners...

I've grown, harvested and preserved most of my own food, both meat and veggies, for a while now. Yeah, I know how to use an oven.

I worked in fine dining restaurants since I was 20 to put myself thru college....I developed a taste for fine food and wine and love the experience of going out....enjoying talented chefs, reading cookbooks, and trying the recipes myself. Now I live in a rural area and cook for just me all the time...I grow my own food as well....the farm to table movement is terrific and the older I get the more it makes sense.....

You guys have me laughing now...in my 30's I would make 5 course meals and spend 8 hours in the kitchen preparing for a night to have 4-5 couples over, drink wine, play music and dance...I guess I was serious....oh, those were the days....I would have made an excellent executive's wife, except I became the executive.....LOL!
