Dennise - No Longer The Newest Of Newbies - Not Growing In MG - Perpetual

Mmmm :hmmm: strange how everybody seems to have the same issues at around the same times :hmmm:

Morning Dennise :passitleft:

Because I have not finished reading can u tell me who u order ur seeds thru. I just placed an order with autseeds two days ago and although they charged my cc no email.on shipment as promised in 24 hrs. I want to order more seeds but was hoping for a US supplier...thus no customs to deal with...down here in the south this thing is scary

I have another question....not many visitors to my journal..... I have the small frogs in my yard everywhere....went out last night and saw one on the table in the pot with my purple basil eating a twig from the soil...that was too cool....I did some research and they are beneficial to the garden for pest control and their great poop....
Here is the question
I plan on spraying the plants at dusk with neem oil....Will this harm my frogs....I need to make my plants less attractive to grasshoppers mostly...I think they are eating the top leaves.

Hey guys what does it mean when you get rust looking spots on a leaf or 2... it's not on but a couple of them and it is on the Durban Poison... I of course pinched them off out of habit then thought I probably should know why they are doing that... ......:circle-of-love:

Can you post a pic? There are a few things that can do that. Take Mg deficiency, fungus gnats or rust spot disease. All can make rust colored spots, but they look different. And where on the plant were the leaves?

1) Make note of where on the plant the problem is occurring. Low, mid, high or all over.

2) ID potential causes based on where the damage occurred and what the damage looks like.

:welcome: Happy to see ya here... I live in the south too and I order from Spain for the most part... I have won a few contest that sent them from the UK but if I just place an order it's from OSSC in Spain and I have to deal with holding my breath through customs but always pay the extra for stealth and guarantee shipping... I know it's expensive but not as much as loosing your whole order... I honestly don't know of anywhere in the states you can order beans.....:circle-of-love:

This one I don't really know the answer to... I'm sure someone will pop through and know but I wouldn't think it would hurt them and I would also think if they smell it they will stay away from the plant so IMO it would be OK but please know I really have no idea...:thedoubletake:.... The few girls I have grown outside I have left to their own defenses for the most part... Last year was horrible for wormy things and I was pretty diligent with killing those but I use SNS products on my outside girls for preventive maintenance and it works wonderfully... I think it's SNS209 but it's a rosemary extract that I add to the watering of the outside girls and not only does it make the bugs go away it makes the trichs add on like you would not believe.....:high-five: They are a sponsor on 420....:circle-of-love:

I will do all the above if there are anymore... I already pinched those off and the trash is gone to the dump...... they both were on the bottom... the very bottom of the plant... I almost didn't even see them cause they were in a clump of leaves but that plant is crazy growing all over the place... She veg'd for half the time of the Bub's and is twice the size but totally out of control... Anyhow I don't know of any reason it would be doing it and like I said it was on the very bottom of the Durban Poison....:circle-of-love:

I have been using a homemade rosemary spray from my rosemary Bush but it does nothing to stop the grasshoppers...I have to say the rosemary dries the fan leaves but gets rid of the bugs...had a few spider mites...found the rosemary spray formula on ur thread...found out how to identify spider mites on ur thread...found out the rosemary dries the leaves on it thread. I have learned a lot about caring for my plants in the first 178 pages of ur journal. It was the first journal that I found and was hooked. Back then during ur winter storm I kept hoping someone would ask for pics of the snow but no-one did...I was disappointed in them back then...lol

I think ur state will see the light of day before mine....it might another generation to make it happen south of the border.

Oh if you are south of me I agree...:thedoubletake: IDK with politics like they are right now they might just make it happen on a federal level... It is getting to be less of a big deal everywhere and good Lord it's legal in D.C..... and obviously as they were having their sit in yesterday singing Kumbaya. Anyhow I see Heirloom headed your way to look at the frog situation... He's one of the smart guys that passes through that I was talking about so you are in good hands now....:high-five: Good luck with your frogs my friend...:bravo:....:circle-of-love:

Oh what a Sweetheart you are and I am so happy I have been able to help you in any way...:yahoo: If you apply the rosemary at night time... well after the sun goes down you will find it doesn't dry it out as bad and I have gotten to where I use it in the actual watering and am seeing a huge difference....:Namaste:.. I would have been more than happy to post up pics for ya... if you look in my signature for the virtual couch there may very well be some there but if you ever want to see heaven on earth I'll be happy to post them up on the couch..:circle-of-love:

Hey Denise! Love your Flag biscuit tin! Wish I had a Aus one of those!!
Lilred; maybe ask at a garden store or something.. I don't know much about neem, but frogs are very senstive... The fact that you have them is a great sign for your local environment, but it doesn't take much to drive them away or even kill them.. Try lightly spraying the very tops of the plants only, some will drift down to lower leaves, see if that works to get rid of the top-leaf-munchers and it might be too high to bother the frogs, who will look after the bugs for you????
Just saw that Heirloom said most of this on your Journal, so you're in good hands!

Please don't spray your plants.. You want to keep the frogs to eat your bugs. Taddies won't hurt your plants... Do you have a journal going Lilred?

Morning all.... :passitleft: it's the weekend :passitleft: like that changes anything :passitleft: trying to kid myself
