i have a picture of the heat, from a inferred camera and it Is HOT. why I said have a fire alarm above it. its gets hot now.
one time on the first one D had I measured it at 180 degrees. normal temp for wires were 150. #14 gage wire. what they used.

Just curious, on the "rebuild"...did the fans get moved off the heat sinks? When I built my LED box I put the fans about 4 inches above them and it gives it a wide footprint of cooling air.

I don't think so Canna... 7 will answer definitively but the way I understood it they added a switch that will allow you to only run half the light and upgraded the wiring... TBH I haven't even seen the last new and improved light... After having it nearly burn my house down on numerous occasions... Not to mention failing in the middle of my grow.... Fella said to get it out of the house and not to bring it back.... Fella is about as gentle with me as a human can be but he was dead serious...

Cana, what I did was separate the lights to two switches and changed wires to a higher rate of heat. what was happening is this,
the wires would get so hot and switch would burn. so I divided half and half to cut power going to the fans and heat was cut in half.
power going thru the wires at 880w. is to high for the unit in a whole one wire sequence. so making two parallel switches made 440w per sides. cutting heat down. but maintaining the lights. never moving anything but just few changes. they would never do it. I finally got them to add a switch and unit into a 9 and 16. but they never changed the wattage of the switches. just added another one. and it was cheep as you know what. I went to a 15 amp fuse because of the power it drew. cord got hot but I cut a extension cord with 10 ga outdoor cord and made it my supply cord. if all this makes since. basically cut power in half running a parallel system instead of a sequence system.

power was so strong to run the lights in sequence , as it goes thru the wire it loses power at the end. but the front was a switch that got full load of 880w. each time it goes to a fan the fan take that little bit from the wire to run. why switch burned before anything else.
cutting them in half solves it.

Not quite back to my garden yet but halfway there at least! Can't wait to get back into the swing of things and get to hanging with you all again.
I was having a pretty crappy night tonight until I saw your notes on my journal. Thanks! It pushed life back in the other direction!

You would do well to stay away from Michigan, it's too damn cold here!!

I've got a bunch of pics to post from the last 2 days... Had to go to a couple of appointments yesterday and I guess I just didn't realize how lazy I am... I feel like I have run a 20 mile race today... and I assure you I have not...
Anywho everybody has been watered in the last 2 days.... the Barney's Blue Cheese and the Pineapple Chunk got twisted and bent over some and the auto Sugar Mango got a fan leaf or 2 pinched off to help with the light penetration... The Baby Tut is 31 days in flower... Olivia is 40 days from seed... the auto Sugar Mango is 31 days from seed... the Barney's Blue Cheese is 19 days in veg...31 days from seed... the Pineapple Chunk is also about 19 days in veg....
and I assure you I have not... High Doc... I actually had to water her again this morning... She was bone dry and took another full gallon of water before peeing.... IMO I think she is going to be one of the nicest I have ever grown... I absolutely love this girl... I will be posting up more pics of her shortly... Man I cannot believe how much this Baby Tut is drinking... Again she had another gallon and drank it all up before giving back a little bit.... She is starting to get a few orange hairs in her buds and she is certainly getting fatter... The Barney Blue Cheese and the Pineapple Chunk were watered too.... I'm not looking for the notebook since they were all just updated yesterday but they are a day older than they were yesterday and living in the same tent under the same lights...::.....
