Dennise - No Longer The Newest Of Newbies - Not Growing In MG - Perpetual

I decided to just dive in head first this morning with the wake and bake and went for the Black Jack....:rollit: and guess what I found much to my dismay... a bean..:yahoo: and it looks viable too... I don't want to pop it yet for obvious reasons but I will as soon as I get things sorted out here just to see if it will pop.... I really like the smoke... Not normally during the day so much but it's to dang cold to do anything anyhow but tote wood so why not...... Who knew I would ever be this excited about finding a seed in my sack......:circle-of-love:

You should place the seed in your refrigerator for a few days and when you are ready to germinate the seed remove the seed and allow the seed to reach room temperature before germination. The cold cycle will help the seed germination viability.

Yea Granny... I feel so responsible too for what you are dealing with.... I know you made a lot of your decisions on what I was doing at the time and I still think I underwatered a lot during that time because I was sick during the end of the grow and still just didn't know much about what I was doing... not that I do now but am a little wiser due to the awesome folks on 420.... and I have every intention of trying Growology again... but have recently read on here from one of the admins that Growology is discontinuing this line of nutes.... I think that speaks volumes... a lot of us automatically think it is our own fault if something is not perfect with our girls.... well it may not be us in this case... we were having this discussion on Jimmy's thread too about the salt residue left behind on the Smart Pots being so heavy from Growology and that is an obvious issue....
Granny I am going to tell you exactly what I did.... #1 I had my nephew mix up the 3 bins of PJ's organic soil for me and have been letting it sit out in the barn and seasoning for lack of a better word.... In the mean time I went back to basics that I knew... Fox Farms..... As I know you have seen on here I use the tin can method to pop my beans then I pot the tap rooted babies up in a small container... about a cup I reckon of Happy Frog..... Once they pop soil and are looking pretty and strong and given time to build as good a root system as possible in the little container I pot up to a 1 gallon nursery pot.... 1/2 Happy Frog and 1/2 Ocean Forest.... If you have some step 1 left of the Growology throw a little of that in the soil..... I used about 1/2 of what they call for as the Fox Farms already has some but I figured a bit more wouldn't hurt... but that is not a must....... I leave them in the 1 gallon pots top dressed with the hydroton clay balls.... I use them because I am a bit heavy handed when I water and it helps disperse the water more evenly over the plant.... I let them veg in the 1 gal pots until they pretty much outgrow them to make sure again that the root system is as well developed as I can get it.... I then pot up to their final homes in a 5 gallon Smart Pot and again top dress the same mixture of FF with the hydroton.... As far as the nutes.... I use the grow trio... Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom... I use SledgeHammer when I flush.... I also use the blooming trio... Open sesame, Beastie Bloom and Cha Ching... I don't start using any nutes until the girls actually start looking like they need a little something then I start them using the FF schedule at 1/4 strength and work up to 1/2 strength.... I stayed at 1/2 strength for the most part for my entire last grow and if I have a girl that is still looking like she needs something I would go up to full strength.... I did 1 run at full strength and they did great but I think it was a very aggressive strain... but I just kinda watch my girls to see what they need other than that... I do think I am going to order some of the Humboldt Ultra Storm.... King uses it in bloom... it is a potassium supplement I think that he sprays on just at lights out but his buds look like they have been laminated they are so resinous.... but other than that it is all FF and I haven't tried the Ultra Storm yet but plan on adding it to my arsenal......
I hope all my jibber jabber helps you in some way Granny......:lot-o-toke:.....:circle-of-love:

That was so nice of you to taking time explaining every step and everything you use.. I have all of those FF nutes, it's what I used to use..I also have the trio of Flora Series. Another thing is I am going to begin using is the 3 gallon pots...It's too much to carry to tub to water with 5 gallon... Next order on medium will be FF and Frog but I gotta make this sunshine4 work...got alot of it.
Thank you again Dennise, you're so caring.

Here is my soiless mixture that you can use up your supply of Sunshine Mix #4 with.

I use peat moss, perlite, vermiculite and mycorrhizae and bacteria for my plants. I would mix your soiless mixture in a ratio of 60% peat moss, 20% perlite and 20% vermiculite. In the future if you can get Pro-Mix HP you would only need to add 20% vermiculite and mycorrhizae. Vermiculite acts as a catalyst between nutrients and the plants roots as well as retaining moisture.

Pro-Mix HP has 1 species of mycorrhizae added, I add 10 others species of mycorrhizae and more of the strain already contained in Pro-Mix HP. When I transplant my plants to larger size pots I use 1 teaspoon per 1 gallon size pot and 2-3 teaspoons per 3 gallon size pot of additional mycorrhizae granules.

OK I know know exactly the problem your having Granny and hence the reason I no longer grow with just the ProMix.... I couldn't find the ProMix HP because I am an idiot and didn't think to ask my garden dude that gets my FF.. and I got What I could find here that had no buffering in it to stabilize the pH and between me being out of it and pH being all over the place I burned them..... I didn't realize you had to add lime or something to balance it out and I think the mix you are using is the same...... I could be very wrong and usually am but I think I now understand.... I would do exactly what King said to use up what is left then move on over to soil but that's just my opinion and the fact is.... I like growing in soil....:circle-of-love:

I use Snow Storm Ultra as a foliar spray at 1.25 millilitres per quart or liter in flower every 7-10 days and discontinue use 1 week before harvest.

I will only spray Snow Storm Ultra just before the lights go off for the darkness phase of flowering.

:yummy:....:circle-of-love:

I think this should be everything thing need now...:phew: I checked my list twice and I think I got everything... The only thing that is a little bit different than what you told me King :adore: is the brand of the tape.... It is 3M instead of Duck but the Walmart in town here didn't have it and that is what Blowes carries... It looks to be the same exact thing but everything else is exactly what you stated..:thanks:... Now all I need is a tall, strong and handsome fella to come hang all this stuff...:loopy: Worse case scenario it will have to wait until Nephew and fella's next turn around... a week and a half...:yikes: but I think I have a plan but we will have to wait and see... it's not like I can just ask anybody to help me...:thedoubletake: Any how have some things in the works and it will get done soon..... having everything in hand makes it a whole lot easier to ask for help too.....:circle-of-love:
