Delicious Seeds Cheese Candy & HSO Amherst Sour Diesel By The Tard

Beautiful foliage in that tent Tard. Good luck with the blood meal buddy. Scares the crap out of me. I didn't know we needed to supplement N with the kit. I'm guessing it's strain related? Still trying to learn.

Cheers Tard

from what I understood Doc, it gets used as what I think is 'flowering N(ammoniacal)'

I only used it on the amherst sour diesels, not the cheese candy or the snake venom. The reaction was almost immediate in the asds. The other two dont need it and won't get it. Like I said tho, I dont care what happens cuz im building new soil for the next grow with promix. Im finding out that if you dont have spider mites to begin with, you wont get it from the bloodmeal

How do you know which strains you have to do something different with? I have a bunch of seeds and I would like to know going in what to prepare for. Or, is it a wait and see kind of thing? Thanks Tard

Cheers

I dont know if you ever heard us refer to "frankenstrains" bro but theyre the OG strains that are made up of several different strains. Those are the ones that will require the OG drench. Another way to tell is once you flip, they just don't have that OOOMPH and start looking kinda sad. Even in veg some of them will start sagging a lot more than other more pure strains. Im sure youve heard Doc say that landrace strains do much better in our soil. It was after that when he came up with the OG drench then eventually wayahead 10x was next. Bottom line is the ones that will need special attention are the ones that don't have that high brix shine from the beginning and keep it for the duration. Your future runs will look better and act better because of all the ewc and leaf matter that gets added for those runs (2nd and 3rd). Strains that will do better in hydroponic setups will need the epsoms and OG drenches to reach their full potential. Research the seeds you're gonna plant beforehand and youll have a better idea right off the bat. Ive been at this so long that I notice the traits almost immediately now. Youll get it down bro :)

Noob, anything from ACE seeds will love love love high brix soil. They have a bunch of landrace strains and their hybrids are mostly crosses of those landraces. They don't use skunk genetics at all. If you like sativas they have a great selection. Cannabiogen is another, they can be purchased right from the ACE website. You won't need blood meal or epsoms at all.
If you use seedfinder.eu you can look up the genetics of your seeds and see the "family tree", if it's quite long, chances are you will need the OG, bloodmeal and epsoms.
:Namaste:

Thanks Neikodog. I guess I'm gonna have to do some shopping. Any other suggestions?

If you look to ACE you have to consider Panama. Here's mine just before she started to flower. Graytail says everyone should consider growing her. :bongrip:

I really appreciate the help. I want to grow the absolute best plant that I can for this soil. I can hold off on the other seeds until later. They are in my safe in sealed bags. They should be good for another 6 months at least.

Dude, dont grow something because someone says its safe! Cmon now!!! Ive grown so many different strains in our soil and they all came out spectacular! Just pay attention to what's happening early on and deal with it. Smh

How long have you grown high brix, Tard?

I'm one of the originals bro...over 4 years now I'd say. Doc and Curso were still doing testing when I discovered Cursos and Steppenwolfs threads and read them both. A few days later i bought a kit and have been at it since. That was mid 2012 I reckon. White widow was my first grow...and it was the bomb lol

And I would think people like you and Neikodog know which strains do extraordinary in kit soil. Instead of figuring it out, why not grow the stuff that produces well in this environment. I'm thinking after I go through a few runs I can start experimenting. But for now, I want to grow the stuff that kills in the kit.

It all does. Good luck

I'm so pleased with Delicious Candy by Delicious seeds. Another 19 days and that's 8 weeks. Brilliant plant although the smell at 2-3 weeks was much stronger than I have ever had pass my nostrils.
