DD Stable Of Impermanence

The neighbourhood has disappeared under a blanket of thick flurries. It must be weird for dogs - there are no smells. Anyway. Glad I put a heater in the garden.

She’s making a start. One of her laterals is shorter than the other. No doubt they’ll even out. The lowest slips will be the first cuts for her next run already.

It looks like Bubba’s Sis will be up today.

I might jar some dried goodness laters.

I hope you’re all having nice days folks :yummy:

Hey DD, love the write up on the CBD. I’m going to start using more of my leaf to make salves and things in the future. For now I have some infused (coconut) oil with the 30:1 Dr S.
Was wondering if I wanted to make a salve, do I need to add the SL to the infused oil, or can I leave it out? I left 1/2 cup of it without the lecithin just in case. About to make some CBD/CBG lotion for the first time, thanks for any help.
The ladies are looking good, I need to hang out here more!

For the record, coconut oil it not very absorbent, so it's not recommended for anything you want absorbed into the skin. Grapeseed/Pumpkin seed oils are best for topicals.

[edited:] And to answer your LSL question, SweetSue said to add it to topicals at the same rate as edibles (1Tbs/8oz oil). I haven't tried that yet and I'm not sure if it changes the behavior of the oil for the better. And she has moved on from this site.

That is great information all around, thanks so much.

Looking the goods g’donk! AMazing you had snow! Well into spring... we have had a cold snap the last few days as well. No snow here though - still smells like spring! Blossoms and animal poop :laughtwo:... hey, I’ve grown cannabis that smelled like that!

:oops::eek: “I will now!”

Congrats on the new beans and tails! Damn crowded in that tent, so it might be time for a couple of new levels. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Did I miss it or forget or have you not mentioned the seed-making process lately?
Cheers Shed. You’ve missed nothing. I have three horribly stretched gangly creatures, a Hulklato, a DrSCBD30:1 and a candida. They’re just sitting in a room and haven’t had a feed for a couple of weeks. Haven’t died yet either. The DrS has decided to reinvest her output in ♀ flowers. The other two, nothing. They’ll all be chopped up and dug through the compost.
Remixing polyjuice V2.0 in another while or so.

Cheers Goody. You don’t need the lecithin on any meds that aren’t being ingested. It took me a couple of false starts with the sublingual drops before I figured that out.
I’ll be interested in what you come up with with your salve so I’ll keep an eye peeled on your beachfront.
I wonder why you used coconut for the carrier with the CBD? Is this for a liver-specific remedy of some kind?
CBG... I’ll bone up on that before asking you more :nerd-with-glasses:
Blossoms and animal poop :laughtwo:... hey, I’ve grown cannabis that smelled like that!
You have burnt rubber, and now koala poo terps all girt by sea? Cor
That's straight from SweetSue, who said LSL is used in cosmetics all the time. Personally, I have not tried it. :cheesygrinsmiley:
I was going to ask your rationale. I wonder what hers was? I would think perhaps as an emulsifier for the oil rather than as a carrier for cannabinoids. Knowing now that transdermal cannabinoid uptake is inefficient I suggest further research before binding them to larger molecules.
It’s subjective, but side by side sublingual drops with no lecithin - much faster, broader spread onset (couldn’t tell that the other worked at all).

Sorry about the gangly-ness of the GA3 clan. One of these weekends I will get cuttings of the Candida mother and try again.

SweetSue swore by LSL for topical pain oil and used it herself to great effect. Last batch I made was before I read her ravings so mine doesn't have any, so I should probably amend my comment above!

I just used coconut oil because the original gummy recipe that @carcass gave me called for it, and it’s cheap enough to buy (plus I have 1 1/2 cups sitting here that I want to use) and easy in recipes to replace butter.
I’m totally open to suggestions on using other things, this is new to me.
It’s funny because a guy used to rent our garage and make really high end legal CBD lotions and things, I should have borrowed some recipes- his stuff goes for $50 in the shops here now, and I’m all out of the freebies he left us. Too much menthol anyway, it burns the eyes.
My first batch will be really simple, I bought unscented cocoa butter lotion base and I have my own scents to add along with the infused oil.
The next time I infuse, I’ll probably use something else depending how this goes.

The coconut oil delivers its cargo to the liver for processing. Your cannabinoids end up in your bloodstream faster and, with THC, you get a noticeable effect.
For CBD in gummy bears - great idea! One of the reasons I haven’t done the gummies yet is because my liver doesn’t deal with saturated fats. Enough jar stock in the Stable and R&D begins on concentrates for edibles.
I infuse my ingestables in EVOO which is taken up by your lymphatic system. I find that fortifying a THC infusion with some decarbed rosin will still give you a kick.
On the topicals, though. I haven’t used shed’s grape or pumpkin yet. Both sound good. I’ve used sweet almond oil for infusion for topicals and it works like a marvel! I also used Sue’s soy wax method for making a cream with infused EVOO. I like the sound of your cocoa butter base.
Is your old garage guy still around to hit him up for some ideas? It seems to me if you have a boutique thing going on you could capture a corner of that niche no worries.

It's a long story but it's tough to get his actual recipes. Him and his wife were partners and have since went separate ways, and they are both fighting over the formulas.
I would love to sell CBD stuff but here it either has to be WA state certified (taxed) marijuana in the product, or a hemp based product from out of state (this guy used CBD concentrate stuff from the middle east he said) but there's no way to legally put mine in stuff and sell it. I have so much damn pot right now that I'm happy to just give edibles and stuff to family and friends while I figure out my recipes. I'm making about a dozen bottles of lotion and @carcass will get at least one. Maybe he will do a review ;)
As for the CBG, it's fairly new to me as well, but I have a few grams of it to play around with. I love smoking it but I have a feeling it will be great in this batch of gummies. So far everyone is reporting great sleep, I think that Dr. S mixed with Hemp and CBG has been good for that, no doubt. We will see how the gummies and the lotion work for pain here in the near future.

So far everyone is reporting great sleep,
 You have my full and undivided attention!
:cheer: :surf: :thumb:

Hey how did you get the secondary branches on GZ so flat without any ties?? Or am I blind? o_O
You’ve heard of Uri Geller? Well, it wasn’t him. Like him, though I just use my fingers.
They’ll be standing up again when I check next and I’ll flatten her tops again. When she’s big enough I’ll start with the bendy wires.

Talk to @carcass I sent him some of the @OregonHempFlower CBD Flower and CBG isolate and he loves it for sleep. His Dr S is going to be in his next gummies I’m sure too.
Nothing quite like getting good sleep after not getting it for a long time. Hopefully it can work for you as well.

Hi DD, so you are saying that you found sublingual drops were more efficient without lecithin? I was always under the impression that lecithin improved edibles. I just wanted to ask to clarify so I can store that snippet of information until needed. :smokin2:

I have only seen one strain advertised as a high CBG strain which has now been removed from the site where I saw it advertised. What in your experience have been the noticeable benefits of CBG, sleep alone is an attractive plus!:bong:

The whole use of pure CBD products is new to me. Most of the stuff I got was always 50/50 with THC or some weird ratio that didn’t work right for me. I prefer my medicinal pot to be all medicinal. I can add the Wedding Cake indica flavor later if I want lol.
So CBG is very new to me. I like the taste and the smoke. The effects I believe have just maximized the CBD experience of some decent pain relief, relief from anxiety, and of course sleep which is like gold to me. It also seems to increase appetite which I don’t really need ;)
I have CBG (auto) seeds on the way, and I know you can buy it as flower. Looking forward to seeing how it smokes.
It’s worth a read seeing how CBG touches some of the cannabinoid receptors that normal pot rarely touch, kind of like CBD but even further. Most pot contains little or none as it occurs at a very early stage in the plant’s life. For me that means sort of feeling something new again, which is refreshing at my stage of life.
