Has anyone grown any of these seeds in docs soil
and if so which one did best. Looking for the perfect strain that will love this soil.
I got a cut of tangerine dream probably 6 years ago now and it was awful. Really susceptible to PM, super finicky about feeds. All around a disappointment. I have seen others say they enjoyed growing it, but along with the good reviews there have been bad ones too. I think it will depend on which pheno you get. I did not grow it in the kit which i am sure would have made it at least a little better all around. It is a strain i have sort of written off since then though.

Yes, I've done Tangerine Dream on my 1st ever grow in non-hb. It was finicky and stretched a ton. I have since run 2-3 more times in HB. It LOVES HB soil. It's one of my patient's favorite strain. You want a sativa pheno. I had the short stocky one and it was not even close to the sativa pheno. When I ordered my seeds, the description said it was a sativa dom hybrid.....Neville's haze x G13, now it seems they've added Afghan to it. The description says and indica dom hybrid. I contacted Barney's and they said it is definitely an indica dom hybrid. I haven't run it since the change.

DNA or Crockett Family Farm strains love the hb soil too. I've done a few of their strains and have been really happy with all of them. They breed in organic soil so their strains do really well in our dirt.

I grew it from seed, and had a similar experience. Mine ended up really only being happy in 70% humidity, or more...piece of work, that plant. I too did not grow it in the kit--I was using FFOF at the time.

Thank you Amy for your help. Half back to business.

:smokin2: if I could create emojis, I’d make one that is a tipping of the hat!

very nice pic D, and nice cola too :bravo:

Radogast has grown something he calls Tangie - I don’t know if thats the same - that was grown in the kit recently, like last year. Sounds like the TD is down on votes already though. Anyway Rad might have some experience to share.

Tangie is a different strain and one that loves hb soil. Tangerine Dream isn't a tangie cross (Nevilles Haze x G13 x Afghan). Take a look at Doc's Tangie.....he's got a nice keeper there. Crockett Family Farms has released the pheno he has as a separate strain called Blood Orange.

Wow have things changed here! I took a break while they reworked the site, and now I am lost. But I found this journal, and it looks like you had to relearn how to post pics Darkscotia, good job on the post and the plant. She looks healthy!

Does anyone know of a sticky showing all of the changes and how to do things now?

This was my Sativa pheno of Tangerine Dream. This was a great one!
Thats what I was hoping for out of the one I grew. Instead it had the longest, skinniest blades I have ever seen. The bud structure was a lot leafier than that and was just full of problems. It is nice to see someone had a good experience with it. The one I grew out had one of the largest stalks of anything I have grown inside! But then did not produce well.

That blood orange sounds interesting. I am yet to grow any Crockett gear. i have really wanted to get the sour tangie but it always gets pushed to the side for something else. I see a lot of people really like what they produce. I have had mixed luck with DNA gear. I grew out Reserva Privada's (which is a branch of DNAs) Kandy Kush and it was some of the nicest smoke I have grown. i am growing out their sour kush and it is alright.. I dont care for the bud structure and the high is too intense for me, but it is vigorous, yields pretty well, finishes in 10 weeks and if I could tolerate the high I would love it. It is very uplifting and happy. I grew chocolope from a seedling my buddy gave me and I loved it until I lost it. i then grew out the cannalope haze and was super disappointed in it. Lost of stretch, very large internodal spacing, whispy buds will littel trich coverage that took 15-16 weeks for me to call it done when it is supposed to take 8.

Hi Dopy! Yes, go to the Journals in progress page and click on the old photo tutorial, heck, here you go, Photo Tutorial and Tips

Wow, we had the same damn plant--good to know I wasn't alone!

I want to try that Blood Orange, now....Doc's Tangie was a monster.

More tutorials are being created, just a slow process with all volunteer labor! in the meantime those links from me and ween should get you started. Any help needed just ask. The @DopyLemontree tagging works now, so you can tag someone for a direct question. There’s a few folk who’ve been frequenting the ‘transition bugs’ thread so should be able to help with most things (me, ween, o’lord, gray, dynamo, sue, scorpio and others I can’t remember now - it’s early in the morning for me). But yeah, any probs just holler for help!!

I have had some issues with leaves getting fried since I put my new lights in. I am considering feeding heavier to see if thats the issue. I thought light stress was the cause but according to Graytail's math I should be able to run my lights full power without issue. If thats the case the only other thing I can think is that I am not feeding enough and am letting my soil energy go flat. Before I thought about it being light stress I thought it was that my tent was getting too cold at night but it is now staying at 66 or above. So now I am thinking it is maybe that the higher light intensity has increased plant metabolism and thus feeding at the same rate I had been is no longer satisfying plant/soil demand.

Funny thinking that exact same thing last night. After carefully inspecting girls I notice that most damage is caused directly under light. Same girl that looks the worst has branchs closest to tent and farthest from light is still nice colour green. And in both last grows was first time every running those lights. But it’s also wierd
Cause some girls same distance from light has no effects as of yet.
With that said all girls needed feeding last night and got feed 1/2oz transplant per gallon of water and 3ml tea. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend.

What I find weird is that the plants that look the worse for me are in the back of the tent. I have 4 panels in the tent with a panel out back and up front on each side of the tent. So each light is covering a 4x2 area roughly. The lights out back are dialed down to the same place as the front roughly. i had more issues when all the lights were full blast but yet again the back row showed it worse. I had plants up front that were closer to the lights than the ones out back and still thats where the issue was more noticeable. I am still producing some nice buds that are actually denser and more frost covered than anything else I have grown before. The plants just do not look as good as they could due to leaves burning up. Im going to try the increased feedings and see if that helps.
